  4 H116 Then H5632 the presidents H324 and princes H1934 H1156 [H8754] sought H7912 [H8682] to find H5931 occasion H1841 against Daniel H6655 concerning H4437 the kingdom; H3606 but H3202 [H8750] they could H7912 [H8682] find H3809 no H5931 occasion H3809 nor H7844 [H8752] fault; H6903 forasmuch H540 [H8683] as he was faithful, H3809 neither H3606 was there any H7960 error H7844 [H8752] or fault H7912 [H8728] found H5922 in him.
  5 H116 Then H560 [H8750] said H479 these H1400 men, H3809 We shall not H7912 [H8684] find H3606 any H5931 occasion H5922 against H1836 this H1841 Daniel, H3861 except H7912 [H8681] we find H1882 it against him concerning the law H426 of his God.
  6 H116 Then H459 these H5632 presidents H324 and princes H7284 [H8684] assembled H4430 to the king, H560 [H8750] and said H3652 thus H5922 to him, H4430 King H1868 Darius, H2418 [H8747] live H5957 for ever.
  7 H3606 All H5632 the presidents H4437 of the kingdom, H5460 the governors, H324 and the princes, H1907 the counsellors, H6347 and the captains, H3272 [H8724] have consulted together H6966 [H8742] to establish H4430 a royal H7010 statute, H8631 [H8742] and to make a firm H633 decree, H1156 [H8748] that whoever shall ask H1159 a petition H4481 of H3606 any H426 god H606 or man H5705 for H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 except H4481 of thee, H4430 O king, H7412 [H8729] he shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions.
  8 H3705 Now, H4430 O king, H6966 [H8681] establish H633 the decree, H7560 [H8748] and sign H3792 the writing, H3809 that it may not be H8133 [H8682] changed, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H5709 [H8748] which altereth H3809 not.
  9 H3606 H1836 H6903 Therefore H4430 king H1868 Darius H7560 [H8754] signed H3792 the writing H633 and the decree.
  10 H1841 Now when Daniel H3046 [H8754] knew H3792 that the writing H7560 [H8752] was signed, H5954 [H8754] he went H1005 into his house; H3551 and his windows H6606 [H8759] being open H5952 in his chamber H5049 toward H3390 Jerusalem, H1289 [H8750] he kneeled H5922 upon H1291 his knees H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day, H6739 [H8743] and prayed, H3029 [H8683] and gave thanks H6925 before H426 his God, H6903 H3606 as H1934 H5648 [H8754] he did H4481 H1836 H6928 before.
  11 H116 Then H479 these H1400 men H7284 [H8684] assembled, H7912 [H8684] and found H1841 Daniel H1156 [H8750] praying H2604 [H8723] and making supplication H6925 before H426 his God.
  12 H116 Then H7127 [H8754] they came near, H560 [H8750] and spoke H6925 before H4430 the king H5922 concerning H4430 the king's H633 decree; H3809 Hast thou not H7560 [H8754] signed H633 a decree, H3606 that every H606 man H1156 [H8748] that shall ask H4481 a petition of H3606 any H426 god H606 or man H5705 within H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 except H4481 of thee, H4430 O king, H7412 [H8729] shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions? H4430 The king H6032 [H8750] answered H560 [H8750] and said, H4406 The thing H3330 is true, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H5709 [H8748] which altereth H3809 not.
  13 H116 Then H6032 [H8754] they answered H560 [H8750] and said H6925 before H4430 the king, H1841 That Daniel, H4481 who is of H1123 the children H1547 of the captivity H3061 of Judah, H7761 H2942 [H8754] regardeth H3809 not H5922 thee, H4430 O king, H633 nor the decree H7560 [H8754] that thou hast signed, H1156 [H8750] but maketh H1159 his petition H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day.

Wycliffe(i) 4 Certis the kyng thouyte to ordeyne hym on al the rewme. Wherfor princes and duikis souyten to fynde occasioun to Danyel, of the side of the kyng; and thei miyten fynde no cause and suspicioun, for he was feithful, and no blame and suspicioun was foundun in hym. 5 Therfor tho men seiden, We schulen not fynde ony occasioun to this Danyel, no but in hap in the lawe of his God. 6 Thanne the princes and duykis maden fals suggestioun to the kyng, and spaken thus to hym, Kyng Darius, lyue thou with onten ende. 7 Alle the princes of thi rewme, and magistratis, and duykis, senatours, and iugis, han maad a counsel, that a decree and comaundement of the emperour go out, that ech man that axith ony axyng of what euer god and man, til to thretti daies, no but of thee, thou kyng, he be sent in to the lake of liouns. 8 Now therfor, kyng, conferme thou the sentence, and write thou the decree, that this that is ordeyned of Medeis and Perseis be not chaungid, nethir be it leueful to ony man to breke. 9 Forsothe Darius, the kyng, settide forth, and confermyde the decree. 10 And whanne Danyel hadde founde this thing, that is, the lawe ordeyned, he entride in to his hous; and the while the wyndows weren open in his soler ayens Jerusalem, in thre tymes in the dai he bowide hise knees, and worschipide, and knoulechide bifore his God, as he was wont to do bifore. 11 Therfor tho men enqueriden ful bisili, and founden Danyel preiynge, and bisechynge his God. 12 And thei neiyiden and spaken to the kyng of the comaundement, Kyng, whether thou ordeynedist not, that ech man that axide ony of goddis and of men, til to thretti daies, no but thee, thou kyng, he schulde be sent in to the lake of liouns? To whiche men the kyng answeride, and seide, The word is soth, bi the decree of Medeis and Perseis, which it is not leueful to breke. 13 Thanne thei answeriden, and seiden bifore the kyng, Danyel, of the sones of caitifte of Juda, reckide not of thi lawe, and of the comaundement, which thou ordeynedist, but thre tymes bi the dai he preieth in his bisechyng.
Coverdale(i) 4 Wherfore the prynces and lordes sought, to pyke out in Daniel some quarel agaynst the kyngdome: yet coude they fynde none occasion ner fawte vpon him. For why: he was so faythful, yt there was no blame ner dishonesty founde in him. 5 Then sayde these men: we will get no quarell agaynst this Daniel, excepte it be in the lawe off his God. 6 Vpon this, wente the princes and lordes together vnto the kynge, and sayde thus vnto him: kynge Darius, God saue thy life for euer. 7 All the great estates off the realme: as ye prynces, dukes, senatours and iudges, are determed to put out a commaundement off ye kynge, and to make a sure statute: namely, that who so desyreth eny peticion, ether of eny god or man (with in this xxx. dayes) excepte it be only off the, O kynge: the same person maye be cast in to the Lyons denne. 8 Wherfore, o kynge, confirme thou this statute, and make a writynge: that the thynge which the Medes and Perses haue ordened be not altered ner broken. 9 So Darius made the wrytynge, and confirmed it. 10 Now when Daniel vnderstode that the wrytynge was made, he wente in to his house: and the wyndowes of his hall towarde Ierusalem stode open. There kneled he downe vpon his knees, thre tymes a daye: there he made his peticion, and praysed his God, like as his maner was to do afore tyme. 11 Then these men made searche, and founde Daniel makynge his peticion, and prayenge vnto his God. 12 So they came to the kynge, and spake before him concernynge his commaundement, sayenge: O kynge, hast thou not subscribed the statute, that within xxx. dayes who so requyreth his peticion off eny god or man, but only of thy self, o kynge: he shalbe cast in to the denne of the Lyons? The kynge answered, ad sayde: yee, it is true. It must be as a lawe of ye Medes and Perses, that maye not be broken. 13 Then answered they, and sayde vnto the kynge: Daniel one of the presoners of Iuda (O kynge) regardeth nether the ner thy statute, that thou hast made, but maketh his peticion thre tymes a daye.
MSTC(i) 4 Wherefore the princes and lords sought to pick out in Daniel some quarrel against the kingdom: yet could they find none occasion nor fault upon him. For why? He was so faithful, that there was no blame nor dishonesty found in him. 5 Then said these men, "We will get no quarrel against this Daniel, except it be in the law of his God." 6 Upon this, went the princes and lords together unto the king, and said thus unto him, "King Darius, God save thy life forever. 7 All the great estates of the realm - as the princes, dukes, senators and judges - are determined to put out a commandment of the king, and to make a sure statute. Namely, that whoso desireth any petition, either of any god or man within this thirty days, except it be only of thee, O king: the same person may be cast into the lions' den. 8 Wherefore, O king, confirm thou this statute, and make a writing: that the thing which the Medes and Persians have ordained be not altered nor broken." 9 So Darius made the writing, and confirmed it. 10 Now when Daniel understood that the writing was made, he went into his house: and the windows of his hall toward Jerusalem stood open. There kneeled he down upon his knees, three times a day: there he made his petition, and praised his God, like as his manner was to do afore time. 11 Then these men made search, and found Daniel making his petition and praying unto his God. 12 So they came to the king, and spake before him concerning his commandment, saying, "O king, hast thou not subscribed the statute, that within thirty days whoso requireth his petition of any god or man, but only of thyself, O king, he shall be cast into the den of the lions?" The king answered, and said, "It is true. It must be as a law of the Medes and Persians, that may not be broken." 13 Then answered they, and said unto the king, "Daniel one of the prisoners of Judah, O king, regardeth neither thee nor thy statute that thou hast made, but maketh his petition three times a day."
Matthew(i) 4 Wherfore the Prynces and Lordes soughte, to pycke oute in Danyel some quarell agaynst the kyngdom: yet coulde they fynde none occasyon nor faute vpon hym. For why? he was so faythful, that there was no blame nor dyshonestye founde in hym. 5 Then sayde these men: we wil get no quarell agaynste thys Daniel, excepte it be in the lawe of hys God. 6 Vpon this, wente the princes and Lordes together vnto the kynge, and sayde thus vnto him: king Darius God saue thy lyfe for euer. 7 All the greate estates of the realme: as the princes, Dukes, Senatours, and iudges, are determed to put oute a commaundement of the kinge, and to make a sure statute: namely, that who so desireth any peticyon, ether of any god, or man (within this .xxx. dayes) excepte it be onlye of the, O kinge: the same person may be cast into the lions denne. 8 Wherfore, O kynge, confirme thou this statute, and make a wryttynge, that the thynge which the Medes and Perses haue ordeyned be not altered nor broken. 9 So Darius made the writtinge, and confirmed it. 10 Now when Daniel vnderstode that the writtinge was made, he wente into hys house: and the windowes of hys hall toward Ierusalem stode open. There kneled he doune vpon his knees, thre tymes a daye: there he made his peticion, and praysed his God, like as hys maner was to do afore tyme. 11 Then these men made searche, and founde Daniel makinge his petycyon and prayinge vnto his God. 12 So they came to the kynge, & spake before him concerninge his commaundement sayinge: O kinge, hast thou not subscribed the statute, that within .xxx. daies who so requireth hys petycyon of any God or man but onely of thy selfe, O kinge: he shalbe cast into the denne of the lyons? The kinge answered, and sayd: ye, it is true. It must be as a lawe of the Medes and Perses, that maye not be broken. 13 Then answered they, and sayde vnto the kynge: Daniel one of the presoners of Iuda, O kynge, regardeth neyther the, nor thy statute, that thou hast made, but maketh his peticion thre tymes a day.
Great(i) 4 Wherfore the Princes and Lordes sought, to pycke out in Daniel some quarell agaynst the kyngdome: yet coulde they fynde none occasyon ner faute vpon hym. For whyche was so faythfull, that there was no blame ner dishonesty founde in hym. 5 Then sayde these men: we wyll get no quarell agaynst thys Daniel, excepte it be in the lawe of hys God. 6 Upon this, wente the prynces & Lordes together vnto the kinge, & sayde thus vnto hym: kynge Darius, God saue thy lyfe for euer. 7 All the greate estates of the realme: as the Prynces, Dukes, Senatours and Iudges, are determed to put oute a commaundement of the kynge, & to make a sure statute: namely, that whoso desyreth any peticyon, ether of any God or man (within this .xxx. dayes) excepte it be onely of the, O kynge: the same person may be cast into the Lyons denne. 8 Wherfore, O kyng, confyrme thou this statute, and make a wrytinge: that the thing which the Medes and Perses haue ordeyned be not altered ner broken. 9 So Darius made the wrytinge, and confyrmed it. 10 Nowe when Daniel vnderstode that the wrytinge was made, he wente into hys house: and the windowes of his wall towarde Ierusalem stode open. There kneled he downe vpon hys knees, thre tymes a daye: there he made hys peticyon, and praysed hys God, lyke as hys maner was to do afore tyme. 11 Then these men made searche, and founde Daniel makynge hys peticyon, & prayinge vnto hys God. 12 So they came to the kynge, & spake before him concernynge his commaundement, sayinge: O kyng, hast thou not subscribed the statute, that within .xxx. dayes who so requyreth his peticion of any God or man but onely of thy selfe, O kynge: he shalbe cast into the denne of the Lyons? The kynge answered, and sayde: yee, it is true. It must be as a lawe of the Medes & Perses, that maye not be broken. 13 Then answered they, and sayde vnto the kynge: Daniel one of the presoners of Iuda O kyng, regardeth nether the, ner thy statute, that thou hast made, but maketh his peticyon thre tymes a daye.
Geneva(i) 4 Wherefore the rulers and gouernours sought an occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdome: but they could finde none occasion nor fault: for he was so faithfull that there was no blame nor fault found in him. 5 Then sayd these men, We shall not finde an occasion against this Daniel, except we finde it against him concerning the Law of his God. 6 Therefore the rulers and these gouernours went together to the King, and sayde thus vnto him, King Darius, liue for euer. 7 All the rulers of thy kingdome, the officers and gouernours, the counsellers, and dukes haue consulted together to make a decree for the King and to establish a statute, that whosoeuer shall aske a petition of any god or man for thirtie dayes saue of thee, O King, he shalbe cast into the denne of lyons. 8 Nowe, O King, confirme the decree, and seale the writing, that it be not changed according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not. 9 Wherefore King Darius sealed the writing and the decree. 10 Now when Daniel vnderstood that he had sealed the writing, hee went into his house, and his window being open in his chamber toward Ierusalem, he kneeled vpon his knees three times a day, and prayed and praysed his God, as he did aforetime. 11 Then these men assembled, and founde Daniel praying, and making supplication vnto his God. 12 So they came and, spake vnto the King concerning the Kings decree, Hast thou not sealed the decree, that euery man that shall make a request to any god or man within thirtie dayes, saue to thee, O King, shall be cast into the denne of lyons? The King answered, and sayd, The thing is true, according to the Lawe of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not. 13 Then answered they, and sayd vnto the King, This Daniel which is of the children of the captiuitie of Iudah, regardeth not thee, O King, nor the decree, that thou hast sealed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

DouayRheims(i) 4 And the king thought to set him over all the kingdom; whereupon the princes, and the governors, sought to find occasion against Daniel, with regard to the king: and they could find no cause, nor suspicion, because he was faithful, and no fault, nor suspicion was found in him. 5 Then these men said: We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, unless perhaps concerning the law of his God. 6 Then the princes, and the governors, craftily suggested to the king, and spoke thus unto him: King Darius, live for ever: 7 All the princes of the kingdom, the magistrates, and governors, the senators, and judges, have consulted together, that an imperial decree, and an edict be published: That whosoever shall ask any petition of any god, or man, for thirty days, but of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of the lions. 8 Now, therefore, O king, confirm the sentence, and sign the decree: that what is decreed by the Medes and Persians may not be altered, nor any man be allowed to transgress it. 9 So king Darius set forth the decree, and established it. 10 Now, when Daniel knew this, that is to say, that the law was made, he went into his house: and opening the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day, and adored and gave thanks before his God, as he had been accustomed to do before. 11 Wherefore those men carefully watching him, found Daniel praying and making supplication to his God. 12 And they came and spoke to the king concerning the edict: O king, hast thou not decreed, that every man that should make a request to any of the gods, or men, for thirty days, but to thyself, O king, should be cast into the den of the lions? And the king answered them, saying: The word is true, according to the decree of the Medes and Persians, which it is not lawful to violate. 13 Then they answered, and said before the king: Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Juda, hath not regarded thy law, nor the decree that thou hast made: but three times a day he maketh his prayer.

Thomson(i) 4 therefore the ministers and the governors sought to find some pretext against Daniel. And when they found no pretext, lapse or crime with which to charge him, for he was faithful; 5 the ministers said, We shall not find any pretext against Daniel except in the ceremonies relating to his God. 6 Then the ministers and the governors waited on the king, and said to him, King Darius live forever! 7 All that are over thy kingdom, the generals and governors, the chief commanders and toparchs have joined in opinion to establish by a royal statute and make a firm decree, that whoever shall make any request of any god or man for thirty days, save of thee only, king; he shall be cast into the den of the lions. 8 Now therefore, king, establish the edict and promulgate it in writing, that the decree of the Persians and Medes may not be dispensed with. 9 Upon this Darius the king ordered the decree to be written. 10 Now when Daniel knew that the decree was passed, he went home and the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem were opened for him, and three times a day, kneeling down on his knees, he prayed and gave thanks before his God as he had done heretofore. 11 Now those men watched and having found Daniel praising and supplicating his God, 12 they went and said to the king, king, hast thou not passed an edict, that every man who shall make any request of any god or man for the space of thirty days save of thee only, king, shall be cast into the den of the lions? And the king said, It is true; and the decree of the Medes and Persians cannot be altered. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel, who is one of the captives from Juda, hath not paid obedience to thy decree. For three times a day he maketh requests of his God.

Leeser(i) 4 (6:5) Then sought the presidents and lieutenants to find a pretext against Daniel on account of the management of the kingdom; but they were not able to find any pretext or fault, forasmuch as he was faithful, and no kind of error or fault was to be found on him. 5 (6:6) Then said these men, We shall not find any pretext against this Daniel, except we find it against him in the law of his God. 6 (6:7) Then came these presidents and lieutenants tumultuously to the king, and thus said they unto him, King Darius, live for ever. 7 (6:8) All the presidents of the kingdom, the superintendents, and the lieutenants, the counsellors, and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm prohibition, that whosoever will ask any thing by prayer of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 (6:9) Now, O king, establish the prohibition, and sign the writing, that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which is not to be repealed. 9 (6:10) In view of this king Darius signed the writing and the prohibition. 10 (6:11) Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went up unto his house, where he had open windows in his upper chamber in the direction of Jerusalem; and three times every day he kneeled upon his knees, and prayed, and offered thanks before his God, as he had been doing before that time. 11 (6:12) Then came in these men tumultuously, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 12 (6:13) Then came they near, and spoke before the king concerning the king’s prohibition, Hast thou not signed a prohibition, that every man that will pray for aught of any God or man, within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is certainly so, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot he repealed. 13 (6:14) Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the children of the exiles of Judah, hath paid no regard to thee, O king, nor to the prohibition which thou hast signed; but three times every day he offereth up his prayer.
YLT(i) 4 Then the presidents and satraps have been seeking to find a cause of complaint against Daniel concerning the kingdom, and any cause of complaint and corruption they are not able to find, because that he is faithful, and any error and corruption have not been found in him. 5 Then these men are saying, `We do not find against this Daniel any cause of complaint, except we have found it against him in the law of his God.'
6 Then these presidents and satraps have assembled near the king, and thus they are saying to him: `O king Darius, to the ages live! 7 Taken counsel have all the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, the counsellors, and the governors, to establish a royal statute, and to strengthen an interdict, that any who seeketh a petition from any god and man until thirty days, save of thee, O king, is cast into a den of lions. 8 Now, O king, thou dost establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it is not to be changed, as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.' 9 Therefore king Darius hath signed the writing and interdict. 10 And Daniel, when he hath known that the writing is signed, hath gone up to his house, and the window being opened for him, in his upper chamber, over-against Jerusalem, three times in a day he is kneeling on his knees, and praying, and confessing before his God, because that he was doing it before this.
11 Then these men have assembled, and found Daniel praying and entreating grace before his God; 12 then they have come near, yea, they are saying before the king concerning the king's interdict: `Hast thou not signed an interdict, that any man who seeketh from any god and man until thirty days, save of thee, O king, is cast into a den of lions?' Answered hath the king, and said, `The thing is certain as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.' 13 Then they have answered, yea, they are saying before the king, that, `Daniel, who is of the sons of the Removed of Judah, hath not placed on thee, O king, any regard, nor on the interdict that thou hast signed, and three times in a day he is seeking his petition.'
JuliaSmith(i) 4 Then the presidents and satraps were seeking to find a pretext against Daniel from the part of the kingdom; and they will not be able to find any pretext and corruption, because that he was faithful, and any error and corruption was not found upon him. 5 Then these men saying that, We shall not find against this Daniel any pretext except we shall find against him in the law of his God. 6 Then these presidents and satraps ran together with tumult to the king, and saying thus to him, O Darius the king, live thou forever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects and satraps, and counselors and governors, will counsel together to set up a statute of the kingdom, and to make strong an interdict that whoever shall seek a request from any God and man even to thirty days, except from thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, wilt thou set up the interdict, and sign the writing, that not to be changed according to the law of Media and Persia, which shall not pass away. 9 For this cause, king Darius signed the writing and the interdict 10 And Daniel as soon as he knew that the writing was signed, went up into his house; and the windows being opened to him in his upper chambers before Jerusalem, three times in the day he kneeled upon his knees, and praying and praising before his God, for the cause that he did from before this 11 Then these men ran together with tumult and found Daniel seeking and making supplication before his God. 12 At that time they drew near, and saying before the king concerning the interdict of the king, Didst thou not sign an interdict that every man that shall seek from any God and man even for thirty days, except from thee, O King, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The word is certain, according to the law of Media and Persia, that shall not pass away. 13 At that time they answered, and saying before the king, That Daniel that is from the sons of the captivity of Judah set not up an account to thee, O king, and to the interdict that thou didst sign; and three times in the day he sought his requests.
Darby(i) 4 Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find a pretext against Daniel with respect to the kingdom; but they could not find any pretext or fault; inasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any pretext against this Daniel, unless we find [it] against him touching the law of his God. 6 Then these presidents and satraps came in a body to the king, and said thus unto him: King Darius, live for ever! 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, the counsellors, and the governors have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked. 9 Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree. 10 And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and, his windows being open in his upper chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. 11 But those men came in a body, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 12 Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king`s decree: Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask [anything] of any god or man within thirty days, except of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

Rotherham(i) 4 Then, the ministers and the satraps, began seeking to find, occasion, against Daniel, in respect of the kingdom,––but, no occasion nor wickedness, could they find, inasmuch as, faithful, was he, and, neither error nor wickedness, could be found against him. 5 Then, these men, were saying, We shall not find against this Daniel, any occasion; unless we find it against him in respect of the law of his God.
6 Then, these ministers and satraps, crowded together unto the king,––and, thus, were saying to him, O Darius the king! for ages, live! 7 All the ministers of the kingdom, the nobles and satraps, the near friends and the pashas, have consulted together, to establish a royal statute, and to confirm an interdict,––That, whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man, for thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king! wilt thou establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it may not be changed––according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be abolished, 9 Wherefore, King Darius, signed the writing and the interdict. 10 But, Daniel, when he knew that the writing, was signed, went to his own house, and, the windows being opened to him, in his chamber, toward Jerusalem, three times a day, was he kneeling upon his knees, and praying and giving thanks before his God, in like manner as he had been doing aforetime.
11 Then, these men, crowded together, and found Daniel,––praying and making supplication, before his God. 12 Then drew they near, and began to speak before the king, concerning the royal interdict, Didst thou not sign, an interdict, that, any man who should petition of any God or man, for thirty days, save of thee, O king, should be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, Certain is the thing––according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be abolished. 13 Then answered they and were saying before the king, Daniel, who is of the sons of the exile of Judah, hath made thee, O king, of none account, also the interdict which thou hast signed,––but, three times a day, is asking his petition.
CLV(i) 4 Then the chancellors and satraps are seeking to find a pretext against Daniel in regard to the administration of the kingdom. Yet no pretext or corruption at all can they find, forasmuch as he is faithful, and no carelessness or corruption at all is found in him." 5 Then these masters are saying, "We will not find any pretext against this Daniel, unless in the edict of his Eloah we find it against him." 6 Then these chancellors and satraps foregather with the king, and thus they say to him, "King Darius, live for the eons!" 7 Counseling are all--the chancellors of the kingdom, the prefects and satraps, the retinue and the viceroys--to set up a royal statute and to issue a mighty interdict that everyone who is petitioning a petition from anyone--whether eloah or mortal--for thirty days, except only from you, O king, shall be heaved into the vault of the lions." 8 Now, O king, set up will you the interdict and sign the writing, that is not to be altered, as an edict of the Medes and Persians which shall not pass away." 9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict. 10 When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house. Now the windows were opened for him in his upper chamber toward Jerusalem. Thus at stated times, thrice in the day, is he kneeling on his knees and praying and acclaiming before his Eloah just as formerly--this he is doing." 11 Then these masters foregather and find Daniel petitioning and supplicating before his Eloah. 12 Then they draw near and are speaking before the king concerning the king's interdict, "Did you not sign an interdict that every mortal who is petitioning from anyone--whether eloah or mortal--for thirty days, except only from you, O king, shall be heaved into the vault of the lions?Answering is the king and saying, "Certain is the matter as an edict of the Medes and Persians which shall not pass away." 13 Then they respond and are saying before the king, "Daniel, who is of the sons of the deportation of Judah, does not promulgate for you, O king, the decree, the interdict that you signed:At stated times, thrice in the day, he is petitioning his petitions before his Eloah."
BBE(i) 4 Then the chief rulers and the captains were looking for some cause for putting Daniel in the wrong in connection with the kingdom, but they were unable to put forward any wrongdoing or error against him; because he was true, and no error or wrong was to be seen in him. 5 Then these men said, We will only get a reason for attacking Daniel in connection with the law of his God. 6 Then these chief rulers and the captains came to the king and said to him, O King Darius, have life for ever. 7 All the chief rulers of the kingdom, the chiefs and the captains, the wise men and the rulers, have made a common decision to put in force a law having the king's authority, and to give a strong order, that whoever makes any request to any god or man but you, O King, for thirty days, is to be put into the lions' hole. 8 Now, O King, put the order in force, signing the writing so that it may not be changed, like the law of the Medes and Persians which may not come to an end. 9 For this reason King Darius put his name on the writing and the order. 10 And Daniel, on hearing that the writing had been signed, went into his house; now he had windows in his room on the roof opening in the direction of Jerusalem; and three times a day he went down on his knees in prayer and praise before his God, as he had done before. 11 Then these men were watching and saw Daniel making prayers and requesting grace before his God. 12 Then they came near before the king and said, O King, have you not put your name to an order that any man who makes a request to any god or man but you, O King, for thirty days, is to be put into the lions' hole? The king made answer and said, The thing is fixed by the law of the Medes and Persians which may not come to an end. 13 Then they made answer and said before the king, Daniel, one of the prisoners of Judah, has no respect for you, O King, or for the order signed by you, but three times a day he makes his prayer to God.
MKJV(i) 4 Then the presidents and rulers sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom. But they could find no occasion or fault, because he was faithful. Neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then these men said, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the Law of his God. 6 Then these presidents and rulers assembled to the king, and said this to him: King Darius, live forever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, and the officials and governors, have planned together to establish a royal law, and to make a strong ban that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except from you, O king, he shall be thrown into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the ban and sign the writing, so that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians which cannot be changed. 9 Therefore King Darius signed the writing and the ban. 10 And when he had learned that the document was signed, Daniel went to his house. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem; and he kneeled on his knees three times a day and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before. 11 Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and confessing before his God. 12 Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's ban, Have you not signed a ban that every man who shall ask a petition of any god or man within thirty days, except of you, O king, shall be thrown into the lion's den? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel, who is of the exiled sons of Judah, has not respected you, O king, nor the ban that you have signed, but makes his prayer three times a day.
LITV(i) 4 Then the presidents and satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom. But they could find no occasion or fault because he was trustworthy. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem. He knelt on his knees three times in the day, and prayed and praised before his God, as he did before. 11 Then these men met together and found Daniel praying and seeking mercy before his God. 12 Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's ban, saying, Have you not signed a ban that every man who shall ask of any god or man within thirty days, except of you, O king, that he shall be thrown into the lions' den? The king answered and said, The thing is certain, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not pass away. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel, who is of the exiled sons of Judah, has not set attention on you, O king, or the ban that you have signed, but he makes his prayer three times in the day.

DARYAVESH RAISES A BOND
Then the eunuchs and satraps seek to find a pretext against Dani El concerning the sovereigndom; but they can find no pretext or ruining because he is trustworthy; nor find any error or ruining in him. 5 Then these mighty say, We find not any pretext against this Dani El; except we find against him concerning the decree of his Elah. 6 Then these eunuchs and satraps conspire to the sovereign; and say thus to him, Sovereign Daryavesh, live eternally. 7 All the eunuchs of the sovereigndom the prefects and the satraps the counsellors and the governors consulted together to raise a royal statute and to empower an edict - that whoever requests a request of any Elah or man until thirty days, except of you, O sovereign, be hurled into the dugout of lions: 8 now, O sovereign, raise the bond, and sign the inscribing, that it not change, according to the decree of the Maday and Persians which passes not. 9 - so sovereign Daryavesh signs the inscribing and the bond. 10 And Dani El, knowing the inscribing is signed, enters into his house, opens his windows in his upper room toward Yeru Shalem, he kneels on his knees three appointments a day, and prays and spreads hands in front of his Elah, as he did formerly. 11 Then these mighty conspire; and find Dani El requesting charism in front of his Elah: 12 then they approach in front of the sovereign and say concerning the bond of the sovereign; Signed you not a bond, that every man who requests of any Elah or man until thirty days, except of you, O sovereign, be cast into the dugout of lions? The sovereign answers and says, The utterance is certain, according to the decree of the Maday and Persians which alters not. 13 Then they answer and say in front of the sovereign, That Dani El of the sons of the exile of Yah Hudah neither regards this taste to you, O sovereign, nor the decree you signed; but requests his request three appointments a day.
ACV(i) 4 Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no occasion nor fault, inasmuch as he was faithful, nor was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then these men said, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God. 6 Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king, and said thus to him: King Darius, live forever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a strong interdict, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter. 9 Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict. 10 And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem) and he knelt upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did formerly. 11 Then these men assembled together, and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God. 12 Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's interdict. Have thou not signed an interdict, that every man who shall make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the sons of the captivity of Judah, does not regard thee, O king, nor the interdict that thou have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.

4 H116 Then H5632 the presidents H324 and the satraps H1934 sought H7912 to find H5931 occasion H1841 against Daniel H6655 as touching H4437 the kingdom; H3606 but H3202 they could H7912 find H3809 no H5931 occasion H3809 nor H7844 fault, H6903 because H540 he was faithful, H3809 neither H3606 was there any H7960 error H7844 or fault H7912 found H5922 in him.
5 H116 Then H479 these H1400 men H560 said, H3809 We shall not H7912 find H3606 any H5931 occasion H5922 against H1836 this H1841 Daniel, H3861 except H7912 we find H1882 it against him concerning the law H426 of his God.
  6 H116 Then H459 these H5632 presidents H324 and satraps H7284 assembled together H4430 to the king, H560 and said H3652 thus H5922 to him, H4430 King H1868 Darius, H2418 live H5957 forever.
7 H3606 All H5632 the presidents H4437 of the kingdom, H5460 the deputies H324 and the satraps, H1907 the counselors H6347 and the governors, H3272 have consulted together H6966 to establish H4430 a royal H7010 statute, H8631 and to make a strong H633 decree, H1156 that whoever shall ask H1159 a petition H4481 of H3606 any H426 god H606 or man H5705 for H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 except H4481 of you, H4430 O king, H7412 he shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions.
8 H3705 Now, H4430 O king, H6966 establish H633 the decree, H7560 and sign H3792 the writing, H3809 that it not H8133 be changed, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H3809 which doesn't H5709 alter.
  9 H1836 Therefore H4430 king H1868 Darius H7560 signed H3792 the writing H633 and the decree.
10 H1841 When Daniel H3046 knew H3792 that the writing H7560 was signed, H5954 he went H1005 into his house H3551 (now his windows H6606 were open H5952 in his room H5049 toward H3390 Jerusalem) H1289 and he kneeled H5922 on H1291 his knees H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day, H6739 and prayed, H3029 and gave thanks H6925 before H426 his God, H6903 as H1934 he did H1836 before.
  11 H116 Then H479 these H1400 men H7284 assembled H7912 together, and found H1841 Daniel H1156 making petition H2604 and supplication H6925 before H426 his God.
12 H116 Then H7127 they came near, H560 and spoke H6925 before H4430 the king H5922 concerning H4430 the king's H633 decree: H7560 Haven't you signed H633 an decree, H3606 that every H606 man H1156 who shall make H4481 petition to H3606 any H426 god H606 or man H5705 within H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 except H4481 to you, H4430 O king, H7412 shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions? H4430 The king H6032 answered, H4406 The thing H3330 is true, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H3809 which doesn't H5709 alter.
  13 H116 Then H6032 answered H560 they and said H6925 before H4430 the king, H1841 That Daniel, H4481 who is of H1123 the children H1547 of the captivity H3061 of Judah, H3809 doesn't H7761 respect H5922 you, H4430 O king, H633 nor the decree H7560 that you have signed, H1156 but makes H1159 his petition H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day.
NHEB(i) 4 Then the administrators and the satraps sought to find a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful. Neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then these men said, "We will not find any charge against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God." 6 Then these administrators and satraps assembled together to the king, and said this to him, "King Daryavesh, live forever. 7 All the administrators of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a strong decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed." 9 Therefore king Daryavesh signed the writing and the decree. 10 When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem) and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before. 11 Then these men assembled together, and found Daniel making petition and petition before his God. 12 Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's decree. "Haven't you signed a decree, that every man who shall make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?" The king answered, "The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed." 13 Then they answered and said before the king, "That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, doesn't regard you, O king, nor the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day."
AKJV(i) 4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; for as much as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. 6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus to him, King Darius, live for ever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of you, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which alters not. 9 Why king Darius signed the writing and the decree. 10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. 11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 12 Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's decree; Have you not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which alters not. 13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regards not you, O king, nor the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.

4 H116 Then H5632 the presidents H324 and princes H1158 sought H7912 to find H5931 occasion H1841 against Daniel H6655 concerning H4437 the kingdom; H3202 but they could H7912 find H3809 none H5931 occasion H3809 nor H7844 fault; H3606 for as much H540 as he was faithful, H3809 neither H3606 was there any H7960 error H7844 or fault H7912 found in him.
5 H116 Then H560 said H479 these H1400 men, H7912 We shall not find H3606 any H5931 occasion H5922 against H1836 this H1841 Daniel, H3861 except H7912 we find H1882 it against him concerning the law H426 of his God.
6 H116 Then H459 these H5632 presidents H324 and princes H7284 assembled H4430 together to the king, H560 and said H3652 thus H4430 to him, King H1868 Darius, H2418 live H5957 for ever.
7 H3606 All H5632 the presidents H4437 of the kingdom, H5461 the governors, H324 and the princes, H1907 the counsellors, H6347 and the captains, H3272 have consulted H6966 together to establish H4430 a royal H7010 statute, H8631 and to make a firm H633 decree, H3605 that whoever H1156 shall ask H1159 a petition H3606 of any H426 God H606 or man H8533 for thirty H3118 days, H3861 save H4430 of you, O king, H7412 he shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions.
8 H3705 Now, H4430 O king, H6966 establish H633 the decree, H7560 and sign H3792 the writing, H8133 that it be not changed, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H1768 which H5709 alters not.
  9 H3605 Why H4430 king H1868 Darius H7560 signed H3792 the writing H633 and the decree.
10 H1768 Now H1768 when H1841 Daniel H3046 knew H3792 that the writing H7560 was signed, H5954 he went H1005 into his house; H3551 and his windows H6606 being open H5952 in his chamber H5049 toward H3390 Jerusalem, H1289 he kneeled H1291 on his knees H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day, H6739 and prayed, H3029 and gave thanks H6925 before H426 his God, H5648 as he did H4481 aforetime.
  11 H116 Then H479 these H1400 men H7284 assembled, H7912 and found H1841 Daniel H1156 praying H2604 and making supplication H6925 before H426 his God.
12 H116 Then H7127 they came H7127 near, H560 and spoke H6925 before H4430 the king H5922 concerning H4430 the king’s H633 decree; H7560 Have you not signed H633 a decree, H3606 that every H606 man H1156 that shall ask H3606 a petition of any H426 God H606 or man H5705 within H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 save H4430 of you, O king, H7412 shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions? H4430 The king H6032 answered H560 and said, H4406 The thing H3330 is true, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H1768 which H5709 alters not.
13 H116 Then H6032 answered H560 they and said H6925 before H4430 the king, H1841 That Daniel, H1768 which H1123 is of the children H1547 of the captivity H3061 of Judah, H7761 regards H2942 H4430 not you, O king, H633 nor the decree H7560 that you have signed, H1159 but makes his petition H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day.

  4 H116 Then H5632 the presidents H324 and princes H1934 sought H7912 to find H5931 occasion H1841 against Daniel H6655 concerning H4437 the kingdom; H3606 but H3202 they could H7912 find H3809 no H5931 occasion H3809 nor H7844 fault; H6903 forasmuch H540 as he was faithful, H3809 neither H3606 was there any H7960 error H7844 or fault H7912 found H5922 in him.

  6 H116 Then H459 these H5632 presidents H324 and princes H7284 assembled together H4430 to the king, H560 and said H3652 thus H5922 unto him, H4430 King H1868 Darius, H2418 live H5957 for ever.
7 H3606 All H5632 the presidents H4437 of the kingdom, H5460 the governors, H324 and the princes, H1907 the counselors, H6347 and the captains, H3272 have consulted together H6966 to establish H4430 a royal H7010 statute, H8631 and to make a firm H633 decree, H1156 that whoever shall ask H1159 a petition H4481 of H3606 any H426 God H606 or man H5705 for H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 save H4481 of you, H4430 O king, H7412 he shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions.
8 H3705 Now, H4430 O king, H6966 establish H633 the decree, H7560 and sign H3792 the writing, H3809 that it be not H8133 changed, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H5709 which alters H3809 not.
  9 H1836 Therefore H4430 king H1868 Darius H7560 signed H3792 the writing H633 and the decree.
10 H1841 Now when Daniel H3046 knew H3792 that the writing H7560 was signed, H5954 he went H1005 into his house; H3551 and his windows H6606 being open H5952 in his chamber H5049 toward H3390 Jerusalem, H1289 he kneeled H5922 upon H1291 his knees H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day, H6739 and prayed, H3029 and gave thanks H6925 before H426 his God, H6903 as H1934 he did H1836 before.
  11 H116 Then H479 these H1400 men H7284 assembled, H7912 and found H1841 Daniel H1156 praying H2604 and making supplication H6925 before H426 his God.
12 H116 Then H7127 they came near, H560 and spoke H6925 before H4430 the king H5922 concerning H4430 the king's H633 decree; H3809 Have you not H7560 signed H633 a decree, H3606 that every H606 man H1156 that shall ask H4481 a petition of H3606 any H426 God H606 or man H5705 inside H8533 thirty H3118 days, H3861 save H4481 of you, H4430 O king, H7412 shall be cast H1358 into the den H744 of lions? H4430 The king H6032 answered H560 and said, H4406 The thing H3330 is true, H1882 according to the law H4076 of the Medes H6540 and Persians, H5709 which alters H3809 not.
13 H116 Then H6032 answered H560 they and said H6925 before H4430 the king, H1841 That Daniel, H4481 which is of H1123 the sons H1547 of the captivity H3061 of Judah, H7761 regards H3809 not H5922 you, H4430 O king, H633 nor the decree H7560 that you have signed, H1156 but makes H1159 his petition H8532 three H2166 times H3118 a day.
EJ2000(i) 4 Then the presidents and governors looked for occasions against Daniel on behalf of the kingdom, but they could find no occasion or fault because he was faithful, and no vice nor fault was found in him. 5 Then these men said, We shall never find any occasion against this Daniel except we find it against him in the law of his God. 6 ¶ Then these governors and presidents assembled together before the king and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, magistrates, governors, great ones, and captains have agreed in common accord to promote a royal decree and to confirm it that whoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, except of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, confirm the decree and sign the writing that it not be moved, according to the law of Media and of Persia, which does not change. 9 Therefore King Darius signed the writing and the decree. 10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he entered into his house; and with the windows open toward Jerusalem in his dining chamber, he knelt three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God as he was used to doing before. 11 ¶ Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 12 Then they went and spoke before the king concerning the royal decree; Hast thou not confirmed a decree that whoever shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Media and Persia, which does not change. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the sons of the captivity of the Jews, has not regarded thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast confirmed, but makes his petition three times a day.
CAB(i) 4 Then the governors and satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel; but they found against him no occasion, nor trespass, nor error, because he was faithful. 5 And the governors said, We shall not find occasion against Daniel, except in the ordinances of his God. 6 Then the governors and satraps stood by the king, and said to him, King Darius, live forever! 7 All who preside over your kingdom, captains and satraps, chiefs and local governors, have taken counsel together, to establish by a royal statute, and to confirm a decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except for you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now then, O king, establish the decree, and publish a writ, that the decree of the Persians and Medes may not be changed. 9 Then King Darius commanded the decree to be written. 10 And when Daniel knew that the decree was ordered, he went into his house. And his windows were opened in his chambers toward Jerusalem, and three times in the day he knelt upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he used to do before. 11 Then these men watched, and found Daniel praying and making supplication to his God. 12 And they came and said to the king, O king, have you not made a decree, that if any man shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except for you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? And the king said, The word is true, and the decree of the Medes and Persians shall not pass. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel of the sons of the captivity of Judah, has not submitted to your decree; and three times in the day he makes his requests of his God.
LXX2012(i) 4 Then the governors and satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel; but they found against him no occasion, nor trespass, nor error, because he was faithful. 5 And the governors said, We shall not find occasion against Daniel, except in the ordinances of his God. 6 Then the governors and satraps stood by the king, and said to him, King Darius, live for ever. 7 All who preside over your kingdom, captains and satraps, chiefs and local governors, have taken counsel together, to establish by a royal statue and to confirm a decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, save of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now then, O king, establish the decree, and publish a writ, that the decree of the Persians and Medes be not changed. 9 Then king Darius commanded the decree to be written. 10 And when Daniel knew that the decree was ordered, he went into his house; and his windows were opened in his chambers toward Jerusalem, and three times in the day he knelt upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he used to do before. 11 Then these men watched, and found Daniel praying and supplicating to his God. 12 And they came and said to the king, O king, has you not made a decree, that whatever man shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, but of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? And the king said, The word is true, and the decree of the Medes and Persians shall not pass. 13 Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel of the children of the captivity of Judea, has not submitted to your decree; and three times in the day he makes his requests of his God.
NSB(i) 4 Then the commissioners and the governors sought to find a charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom. They could find no charge, nor error, nor fault, for he was faithful. 5 These men said: »We shall not find any charge against Daniel, unless we find it against him in the Law of his God.« 6 Then these commissioners and governors assembled before the king, and said: »King Darius, may you live for a very long time.« 7 »All the governors of the kingdom, the deputies and the governors, the counselors consulted together to establish a royal statute. They made a strong decree, that whoever prays to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be thrown into the den of lions. 8 »Now, O king, establish the decree by signing the document. That it will not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be altered. 9 King Darius signed the document for the decree.« 10 Daniel knew that the decree was signed. He went into his house. His windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem. He kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, like he did before. 11 These men assembled together. They found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God. 12 They approached the king about his decree: »Did you sign a decree stating that every man that shall make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be thrown into the den of lions?« The king answered: »The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be altered.« 13 Then they said: »Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, does not show you respect, O king, nor the decree that you signed. He offers his prayer three times a day.«
ISV(i) 4 A Plot to Destroy DanielBecause of this, the administrators and regional authorities tried to bring allegations of dereliction of duty in government affairs against Daniel, but they were unable to find any charges of corruption. Daniel was trustworthy, and no evidence of negligence or corruption could be found against him. 5 So these men said, “We’ll never find any basis for complaint against Daniel unless we build it on the requirements of his God.”
6 Then these administrators and regional authorities went as a group to the king and said this, “Your majesty, live forever! 7 All of the royal administrators, prefects, regional authorities, scribes, and governors have concluded that the king should establish and enforce an edict that anyone who prays to any god or man for the next 30 days (except to you, your majesty) is to be thrown into the lions’ pit. 8 Therefore, your majesty, establish the decree and sign the written document so it can’t be changed, in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians that can’t be repealed.” 9 So King Darius signed the edict contained in the written document.
10 Daniel is AccusedWhen Daniel learned that the written document had been signed, he went to an upstairs room in his house that had windows opened facing Jerusalem. Three times a day he would kneel down, pray, and give thanks to his God, just as he had previously done.
11 The conspirators then went as a group and found Daniel praying and seeking help before his God. 12 So they approached the king and asked, “Didn’t you sign an edict that for the next 30 days if anyone prays to any god or man, except to you, your majesty, he would be thrown into the lions’ pit?”
The king responded, “The decree has been established, in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians that can’t be repealed.”
13 Then they told the king, “Daniel, who is one of the Judean exiles, pays no attention to you, your majesty, or to the written decree, since he is still praying three times a day.”
LEB(i) 4 Then the other administrators and satraps began to seek* to find a pretext against Daniel in connection with the kingdom,* but they were not able to find any pretext and corruption* because* he was trustworthy, and no* negligence or corruption* could be found in him.* 5 Then these men said,* "We will not find any pretext* against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God." 6 So the administrators and the satraps conspired with respect to* the king and so they said to him, "Darius, O king, live forever!* 7 All of the administrators of the kingdom, and the prefects, the satraps, the counselors and the governors took counsel and have agreed to establish an edict of the king and to enforce a decree that whoever* will seek a prayer from any god or human except from you for up to thirty days will be thrown into the lion pit.* 8 Now, O king, establish the edict and you must sign the document so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians which cannot be revoked." 9 So* the king, Darius, signed the writing and the interdict.* 10 Now when* Daniel realized that the document was signed, he went to his house (now he had windows in his upper room that were open* toward Jerusalem), and three times daily* he knelt on his knees and prayed and gave praise before his God, just as* he had been doing previously.* 11 Then these men came as a group and they found Daniel praying and pleading for mercy before his God. 12 Then they approached and spoke with the king* concerning the edict of the king, "Did you not sign an edict* that any person who would seek anything from any God or human within thirty days except from you, O king, would be thrown into the lion pit?"* The king answered and said, "The matter as you have just stated is certain according to the law of the Medes and Persians which cannot be revoked." 13 Then they responded* and said before the king, "Daniel, who is from the exiles* of Judah,* is not paying any attention* to you, O king, or to the decree that you have signed, and three times daily* he says his prayer."
BSB(i) 4 Thus the administrators and satraps sought a charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no charge or corruption, because he was trustworthy, and no negligence or corruption was found in him. 5 Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel, unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.” 6 So the administrators and satraps went together to the king and said, “O King Darius, may you live forever! 7 All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce a decree that for thirty days anyone who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions. 8 Therefore, O king, establish the decree and sign the document so that it cannot be changed—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.” 9 Therefore King Darius signed the written decree. 10 Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before. 11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and imploring his God. 12 So they approached the king and asked about his royal decree: “Did you not sign a decree that for thirty days any man who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions?” The king replied, “According to the law of the Medes and Persians the order stands, and it cannot be repealed.” 13 Then they told the king, “Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, shows no regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed. He still makes his petition three times a day.”

MLV(i) 4 Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no occasion nor fault, inasmuch as he was faithful, nor was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then these men said, We will not find any occasion against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
6 Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king and said thus to him: King Darius, live forever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a strong interdict, that whoever will ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he will be cast into the den of lions.
8 Now, O king, establish the interdict and sign the writing, that it is not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter. 9 Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict.
10 And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem) and he knelt upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he did formerly.
11 Then these men assembled together and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God. 12 Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's interdict. Have you not signed an interdict, that every man who will make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, will be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.
13 Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the sons of the captivity of Judah, does not regard you, O king, nor the interdict that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.

12 Oni ljudi nahrupiše i nađoše Daniela gdje moli i zaziva svoga Boga.
8 Nyní tedy, ó králi, potvrď zápovědi této, a vydej mandát, kterýž by nemohl změněn býti podlé práva Médského a Perského, kteréž jest neproměnitelné. 9 Pročež král Darius vydal mandát a zápověd.

FinnishPR(i) 4 Silloin toiset valtaherrat sekä satraapit etsivät Danielia vastaan syytä valtakunnan hallinnossa.
Haitian(i) 4 Lè sa a, lòt gwo chèf yo ansanm ak prefè yo t'ap chache yon okazyon pou yo antrave Danyèl nan travay leta a. Men, yo pa t' ka jwenn anyen pou yo repwoche l' sitèlman Danyèl te yon nonm serye nan tou sa l'ap fè. Li pa t' pote ankenn neglijans ni pa t' gen ankenn mank nan travay li. 5 Lè sa a yonn di lòt: -Nou pa ka jwenn anyen ki mal nan travay Danyèl ap fè a. Ann chache nan jan l'ap sèvi Bondye l' la. 6 Se konsa yo kouri al jwenn wa a, yo di l' konsa: -Wa Dariyis, nou mande pou bondye yo ba ou lavi pou lontan ankò! 7 Tout gwo chèf nan peyi a ansanm ak prefè yo, gouvènè yo, minis yo ak lòt chèf yo, nou tout, nou dakò pou wa a pase yon lòd sevè ki mande pou tout moun lapriyè nan pye wa a ase pandan trant jou. Nenpòt moun ki ta dezobeyi lòd sa a, epi ki ta lapriyè nan pye yon bondye osinon yon lòt moun pandan tan sa a, se pou yo jete l' nan gwo twou lyon yo. 8 Monwa, nou mande ou pou fè ekri lòd sa a, lèfini pou ou siyen l'. Konsa, dapre lalwa peyi Medi ak peyi Pès la, yo pa t' ka chanje anyen ladan l', tout moun fèt pou koube devan l'. 9 Se konsa, wa Dariyis siyen lòd la. 10 Lè Danyèl vin konnen wa a te siyen lòd sa a, li al lakay li. Te gen yon chanm anwo sou teras la ak yon fennèt ki bay nan direksyon lavil Jerizalèm. Li moute, li mete ajenou devan fennèt la ki te louvri, li lapriyè Bondye l' jan li te toujou fè, twa fwa pa jou a. 11 Mesye yo vini, yo wè Danyèl ki t'ap lapriyè nan pye Bondye l' la. 12 Yo tout al jwenn wa a epi yo di l': -Monwa, èske ou pa t' siyen yon lwa ki te mande pou tout moun lapriyè nan pye ou ase pandan trant jou? Nenpòt moun yo ta jwenn ap lapriyè yon bondye osinon yon lòt moun pandan tan sa a, se pou yo jete l' nan gwo twou lyon an, pa vre?
