Judges 6:12-26

  12 H4397 And the messenger H3068 of the LORD H7200 [H8735] appeared H559 [H8799] to him, and said H3068 to him, The LORD H1368 is with thee, thou mighty H2428 man of valour.

  13 H1439 And Gideon H559 [H8799] said H994 to him, O H113 my Sovereign, H3426 if H3068 the LORD H4672 [H8804] is with us, why then hath all this befallen H6381 [H8737] us? and where are all his miracles H1 which our fathers H5608 [H8765] told H559 [H8800] us of, saying, H3068 Did not the LORD H5927 [H8689] bring us up H4714 from Egypt? H3068 but now the LORD H5203 [H8804] hath forsaken H5414 [H8799] us, and given H3709 us into the palms H4080 of the Midianites.

  14 H3068 And the LORD H6437 [H8799] looked H559 [H8799] upon him, and said, H3212 [H8798] Go H3581 in this thy might, H3467 [H8689] and thou shalt liberate H3478 Israel H3709 from the palm H4080 of the Midianites: H7971 [H8804] have not I sent thee?

  15 H559 [H8799] And he said H994 to him, O H136 my Sovereign, H4100 how H3467 [H8686] shall I liberate H3478 Israel? H504 H505 [H8676] behold, my family H1800 is poor H4519 in Manasseh, H6810 and I am the least H1 in my father's H1004 house.

  16 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H5221 [H8689] to him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite H4080 the Midianites H259 as one H376 man.

  17 H559 [H8799] And he said H4672 [H8804] to him, If now I have found H2580 grace H5869 in thine eyes, H6213 [H8804] then show H226 me a sign H1696 [H8764] that thou talkest with me.

  18 H4185 [H8799] Depart H935 [H8800] not from here, I pray thee, until I come H3318 [H8689] to thee, and bring forth H4503 my present, H3240 [H8689] and set H6440 it at the face of H559 [H8799] thee. And he said, H3427 [H8799] I will tarry H7725 [H8800] until thou comest again.

  19 H1439 And Gideon H935 [H8804] went in, H6213 [H8799] and made ready H5795 H1423 a kid, H4682 and unleavened cakes H374 of an ephah H7058 of flour: H1320 the flesh H7760 [H8804] he put H5536 in a basket, H7760 [H8804] and he put H4839 the broth H6517 in a pot, H3318 [H8686] and brought it out H424 to him under the oak, H5066 [H8686] and presented it.

  20 H4397 And the messenger H430 of God H559 [H8799] said H3947 [H8798] to him, Take H1320 the flesh H4682 and the unleavened cakes, H3240 [H8685] and lay H1975 them upon this H5553 rock, H8210 [H8798] and pour out H4839 the broth. H6213 [H8799] And he did so.

  21 H4397 Then the messenger H3068 of the LORD H7971 [H8799] put forth H7097 the end H4938 of the staff H3027 that was in his hand, H5060 [H8799] and touched H1320 the flesh H4682 and the unleavened cakes; H5927 [H8799] and there rose H784 fire H6697 out of the rock, H398 [H8799] and consumed H1320 the flesh H4682 and the unleavened cakes. H4397 Then the messenger H3068 of the LORD H1980 [H8804] departed H5869 from his eyes.

  22 H1439 And when Gideon H7200 [H8799] perceived H4397 that he was a messenger H3068 of the LORD, H1439 Gideon H559 [H8799] said, H162 Alas, H136 O Sovereign H3069 LORD! H3651 for because H7200 [H8804] I have seen H4397 a messenger H3068 of the LORD H6440 face H6440 to face.

  23 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H7965 to him, Peace H3372 [H8799] be to thee; fear H4191 [H8799] not: thou shalt not die.

  24 H1439 Then Gideon H1129 [H8799] built H4196 an altar H3068 there to the LORD, H7121 [H8799] and called H3073 it The LORD is Peace: H3117 to this day H6084 it is yet in Ophrah H33 of the Abiezrites.

  25 H3915 And it came to pass the same night, H3068 that the LORD H559 [H8799] said H3947 [H8798] to him, Take H1 thy father's H6499 young H7794 bull, H8145 even the second H6499 bull H7651 of seven H8141 years old, H2040 [H8804] and throw down H4196 the altar H1168 of Baal H1 that thy father H3772 [H8799] hath, and cut down H842 the grove that is by it:

  26 H1129 [H8804] And build H4196 an altar H3068 to the LORD H430 thy God H7218 upon the top H4581 of this rock, H4634 in the ordered place, H3947 [H8804] and take H8145 the second H6499 bull, H5927 [H8689] and offer H5930 a burnt sacrifice H6086 with the wood H842 of the grove H3772 [H8799] which thou shalt cut down.
