Exodus 32 וירא saw העם And when the people כי that בשׁשׁ delayed משׁה Moses לרדת to come down מן out of ההר the mount, ויקהל gathered themselves together העם the people על unto אהרן Aaron, ויאמרו and said אליו unto קום him, Up, עשׂה make לנו אלהים us gods, אשׁר which ילכו shall go לפנינו before כי us; for זה this משׁה Moses, האישׁ the man אשׁר that העלנו brought us up מארץ out of the land מצרים of Egypt, לא not ידענו we know מה what היה׃ is become

2 H559 ויאמר said H413 אלהם unto H175 אהרן And Aaron H6561 פרקו them, Break off H5141 נזמי earrings, H2091 הזהב the golden H834 אשׁר which H241 באזני in the ears H802 נשׁיכם of your wives, H1121 בניכם of your sons, H1323 ובנתיכם and of your daughters, H935 והביאו and bring H413 אלי׃ unto

3 H6561 ויתפרקו broke off H3605 כל And all H5971 העם the people H853 את H5141 נזמי earrings H2091 הזהב the golden H834 אשׁר which H241 באזניהם in their ears, H935 ויביאו and brought H413 אל unto H175 אהרן׃ Aaron.

4 H3947 ויקח And he received H3027 מידם at their hand, H3335 ויצר H853 אתו H2747 בחרט it with a graving tool, H6213 ויעשׂהו after he had made H5695 עגל calf: H4541 מסכה it a molten H559 ויאמרו and they said, H428 אלה These H430 אלהיך thy gods, H3478 ישׂראל O Israel, H834 אשׁר which H5927 העלוך brought thee up H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים׃ of Egypt.

5 H7200 וירא saw H175 אהרן And when Aaron H1129 ויבן he built H4196 מזבח an altar H6440 לפניו before H7121 ויקרא made proclamation, H175 אהרן it; and Aaron H559 ויאמר and said, H2282 חג a feast H3068 ליהוה to the LORD. H4279 מחר׃ Tomorrow

6 H7925 וישׁכימו And they rose up early H4283 ממחרת on the morrow, H5927 ויעלו and offered H5930 עלת burnt offerings, H5066 ויגשׁו and brought H8002 שׁלמים peace offerings; H3427 וישׁב sat down H5971 העם and the people H398 לאכל to eat H8354 ושׁתו and to drink, H6965 ויקמו and rose up H6711 לצחק׃ to play.

7 H1696 וידבר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses, H1980 לך Go, H3381 רד get thee down; H3588 כי for H7843 שׁחת have corrupted H5971 עמך thy people, H834 אשׁר which H5927 העלית thou broughtest H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים׃ of Egypt,

8 H5493 סרו They have turned aside H4118 מהר quickly H4480 מן out of H1870 הדרך the way H834 אשׁר which H6680 צויתם I commanded H6213 עשׂו them: they have made H5695 להם עגל calf, H4541 מסכה them a molten H7812 וישׁתחוו and have worshiped H2076 לו ויזבחו it, and have sacrificed H559 לו ויאמרו thereunto, and said, H428 אלה These H430 אלהיך thy gods, H3478 ישׂראל O Israel, H834 אשׁר which H5927 העלוך have brought thee up H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים׃ of Egypt.

9 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses, H7200 ראיתי I have seen H853 את H5971 העם people, H2088 הזה this H2009 והנה and, behold, H5971 עם people: H7186 קשׁה a stiffnecked H6203 ערף a stiffnecked H1931 הוא׃ it

10 H6258 ועתה Now H3240 הניחה H2734 לי ויחר may wax hot H639 אפי that my wrath H3615 בהם ואכלם against them, and that I may consume H6213 ואעשׂה them: and I will make H853 אותך H1471 לגוי nation. H1419 גדול׃ of thee a great

11 H2470 ויחל besought H4872 משׁה And Moses H853 את H6440 פני H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיו his God, H559 ויאמר and said, H4100 למה why H3068 יהוה LORD, H2734 יחרה wax hot H639 אפך doth thy wrath H5971 בעמך against thy people, H834 אשׁר which H3318 הוצאת thou hast brought forth H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים of Egypt H3581 בכח power, H1419 גדול with great H3027 וביד hand? H2389 חזקה׃ and with a mighty

12 H4100 למה Wherefore H559 יאמרו speak, H4713 מצרים H559 לאמר and say, H7451 ברעה For mischief H3318 הוציאם did he bring them out, H2026 להרג to slay H853 אתם H2022 בהרים them in the mountains, H3615 ולכלתם and to consume H5921 מעל them from H6440 פני the face H127 האדמה of the earth? H7725 שׁוב Turn H2740 מחרון H639 אפך H5162 והנחם and repent H5921 על of H7451 הרעה this evil H5971 לעמך׃ against thy people.

13 H2142 זכר Remember H85 לאברהם Abraham, H3327 ליצחק Isaac, H3478 ולישׂראל and Israel, H5650 עבדיך thy servants, H834 אשׁר to whom H7650 נשׁבעת thou sworest H1696 להם בך ותדבר by thine own self, and saidst H413 אלהם unto H7235 ארבה them, I will multiply H853 את H2233 זרעכם your seed H3556 ככוכבי as the stars H8064 השׁמים of heaven, H3605 וכל and all H776 הארץ land H2063 הזאת this H834 אשׁר that H559 אמרתי I have spoken H5414 אתן of will I give H2233 לזרעכם unto your seed, H5157 ונחלו and they shall inherit H5769 לעלם׃ forever.

14 H5162 וינחם repented H3068 יהוה And the LORD H5921 על of H7451 הרעה the evil H834 אשׁר which H1696 דבר he thought H6213 לעשׂות to do H5971 לעמו׃ unto his people.

15 H6437 ויפן turned, H3381 וירד and went down H4872 משׁה And Moses H4480 מן from H2022 ההר the mount, H8147 ושׁני and the two H3871 לחת tables H5715 העדת of the testimony H3027 בידו in his hand: H3871 לחת the tables H3789 כתבים written H8147 משׁני on both H5676 עבריהם their sides; H2088 מזה on the one side H2088 ומזה and on the other H1992 הם they H3789 כתבים׃ written.

16 H3871 והלחת And the tables H4639 מעשׂה the work H430 אלהים of God, H1992 המה H4385 והמכתב and the writing H4385 מכתב the writing H430 אלהים of God, H1931 הוא H2801 חרות graven H5921 על upon H3871 הלחת׃ the tables.

17 H8085 וישׁמע heard H3091 יהושׁע And when Joshua H853 את H6963 קול the noise H5971 העם of the people H7452 ברעה as they shouted, H559 ויאמר he said H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses, H6963 קול a noise H4421 מלחמה of war H4264 במחנה׃ in the camp.

18 H559 ויאמר And he said, H369 אין not H6963 קול the voice H6030 ענות of shout H1369 גבורה for mastery, H369 ואין neither H6963 קול the voice H6030 ענות of cry H2476 חלושׁה for being overcome: H6963 קול the noise H6030 ענות H595 אנכי do I H8085 שׁמע׃ hear.

19 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H834 כאשׁר as soon as H7126 קרב he came nigh H413 אל unto H4264 המחנה the camp, H7200 וירא that he saw H853 את H5695 העגל the calf, H4246 ומחלת and the dancing: H2734 ויחר waxed hot, H639 אף anger H4872 משׁה and Moses' H7993 וישׁלך and he cast H3027 מידו out of his hands, H853 את H3871 הלחת the tables H7665 וישׁבר and broke H853 אתם H8478 תחת them beneath H2022 ההר׃ the mount.

20 H3947 ויקח And he took H853 את H5695 העגל the calf H834 אשׁר which H6213 עשׂו they had made, H8313 וישׂרף and burnt H784 באשׁ in the fire, H2912 ויטחן and ground H5704 עד to H834 אשׁר powder, H1854 דק powder, H2219 ויזר and strewed H5921 על upon H6440 פני upon H4325 המים the water, H8248 וישׁק drink H853 את H1121 בני and made the children H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel

21 H559 ויאמר said H4872 משׁה And Moses H413 אל unto H175 אהרן Aaron, H4100 מה What H6213 עשׂה did H5971 לך העם people H2088 הזה this H3588 כי unto thee, that H935 הבאת thou hast brought H5921 עליו upon H2401 חטאה a sin H1419 גדלה׃ so great

22 H559 ויאמר said, H175 אהרן And Aaron H408 אל Let not H2734 יחר wax hot: H639 אף the anger H113 אדני of my lord H859 אתה thou H3045 ידעת knowest H853 את H5971 העם the people, H3588 כי that H7451 ברע on mischief. H1931 הוא׃ they

23 H559 ויאמרו For they said H6213 לי עשׂה unto me, Make H430 לנו אלהים us gods, H834 אשׁר which H1980 ילכו shall go H6440 לפנינו before H3588 כי us: for H2088 זה this H4872 משׁה Moses, H376 האישׁ the man H834 אשׁר that H5927 העלנו brought us up H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים of Egypt, H3808 לא not H3045 ידענו we know H4100 מה what H1961 היה׃ is become

24 H559 ואמר And I said H4310 להם למי unto them, Whosoever H2091 זהב hath any gold, H6561 התפרקו let them break off. H5414 ויתנו So they gave H7993 לי ואשׁלכהו me: then I cast H784 באשׁ it into the fire, H3318 ויצא and there came out H5695 העגל calf. H2088 הזה׃ this

25 H7200 וירא saw H4872 משׁה And when Moses H853 את H5971 העם the people H3588 כי that H6544 פרע naked; H1931 הוא H3588 כי (for H6544 פרעה had made them naked H175 אהרן Aaron H8103 לשׁמצה unto shame H6965 בקמיהם׃ among their enemies:)

26 H5975 ויעמד stood H4872 משׁה Then Moses H8179 בשׁער in the gate H4264 המחנה of the camp, H559 ויאמר and said, H4310 מי Who H3068 ליהוה on the LORD's H413 אלי side? unto H622 ויאספו gathered themselves together H413 אליו unto H3605 כל me. And all H1121 בני the sons H3878 לוי׃ of Levi

27 H559 ויאמר And he said H3541 להם כה unto them, Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H7760 שׂימו Put H376 אישׁ every man H2719 חרבו his sword H5921 על by H3409 ירכו his side, H5674 עברו go in H7725 ושׁובו and out H8179 משׁער from gate H8179 לשׁער to gate H4264 במחנה throughout the camp, H2026 והרגו and slay H376 אישׁ every man H853 את H251 אחיו his brother, H376 ואישׁ and every man H853 את H7453 רעהו his companion, H376 ואישׁ and every man H853 את H7138 קרבו׃ his neighbor.

28 H6213 ויעשׂו did H1121 בני And the children H3878 לוי of Levi H1697 כדבר according to the word H4872 משׁה of Moses: H5307 ויפל and there fell H4480 מן of H5971 העם the people H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא that H7969 כשׁלשׁת about three H505 אלפי thousand H376 אישׁ׃ men.

29 H559 ויאמר had said, H4872 משׁה For Moses H4390 מלאו H3027 ידכם H3117 היום yourselves today H3068 ליהוה to the LORD, H3588 כי even H376 אישׁ every man H1121 בבנו upon his son, H251 ובאחיו and upon his brother; H5414 ולתת that he may bestow H5921 עליכם upon H3117 היום this day. H1293 ברכה׃ you a blessing

30 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H4283 ממחרת on the morrow, H559 ויאמר said H4872 משׁה that Moses H413 אל unto H5971 העם the people, H859 אתם Ye H2398 חטאתם have sinned H2401 חטאה sin: H1419 גדלה a great H6258 ועתה and now H5927 אעלה I will go up H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD; H194 אולי peradventure H3722 אכפרה I shall make an atonement H1157 בעד for H2403 חטאתכם׃ your sin.

31 H7725 וישׁב returned H4872 משׁה And Moses H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD, H559 ויאמר and said, H577 אנא Oh, H2398 חטא have sinned H5971 העם people H2088 הזה this H2401 חטאה sin, H1419 גדלה a great H6213 ויעשׂו and have made H430 להם אלהי them gods H2091 זהב׃ of gold.

32 H6258 ועתה Yet now, H518 אם if H5375 תשׂא thou wilt forgive H2403 חטאתם their sin; H518 ואם and if H369 אין not, H4229 מחני blot H4994 נא me, I pray thee, H5612 מספרך out of thy book H834 אשׁר which H3789 כתבת׃ thou hast written.

33 H559 ויאמר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses, H4310 מי H834 אשׁר H2398 חטא hath sinned H4229 לי אמחנו against me, him will I blot out H5612 מספרי׃ of my book.

34 H6258 ועתה Therefore now H1980 לך go, H5148 נחה lead H853 את H5971 העם the people H413 אל unto H834 אשׁר of which H1696 דברתי I have spoken H2009 לך הנה unto thee: behold, H4397 מלאכי mine Angel H1980 ילך shall go H6440 לפניך before H3117 וביום thee: nevertheless in the day H6485 פקדי when I visit H6485 ופקדתי I will visit H5921 עלהם upon H2403 חטאתם׃ their sin

35 H5062 ויגף plagued H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את H5971 העם the people, H5921 על because H834 אשׁר because H6213 עשׂו they made H853 את H5695 העגל the calf, H834 אשׁר which H6213 עשׂה made. H175 אהרן׃ Aaron
