Exodus 32 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people congregated themselves to Aaron, and said to him, Arise, make us gods, which shall go at the face of us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

2 H175 And Aaron H559 [H8799] said H6561 [H8761] to them, Break off H2091 the golden H5141 earrings, H241 which are in the ears H802 of your wives, H1121 of your sons, H1323 and of your daughters, H935 [H8685] and bring them to me.

3 H5971 And all the people H6561 [H8691] broke off H2091 the golden H5141 earrings H241 which were in their ears, H935 [H8686] and brought H175 them to Aaron.

4 H3947 [H8799] And he received H3027 them at their hand, H6696 [H8799] and fashioned H2747 it with an engraving tool, H6213 [H8799] after he had made H4541 it a molten H5695 calf: H559 [H8799] and they said, H430 These are thy gods, H3478 O Israel, H5927 [H8689] which brought H776 thee out of the land H4714 of Egypt.

5 H175 And when Aaron H7200 [H8799] saw H1129 [H8799] it, he built H4196 an altar H6440 at the face of H175 it; and Aaron H7121 [H8799] calleth, H559 [H8799] and said, H4279 To morrow H2282 is a feast H3068 to the LORD.

6 H7925 [H8686] And they rose early H4283 on the next morning, H5927 [H8686] and offered H5930 burnt offerings, H5066 [H8686] and brought H8002 peace offerings; H5971 and the people H3427 [H8799] sat H398 [H8800] down to eat H8354 [H8800] and to drink, H6965 [H8799] and rose up H6711 [H8763] to play.

7 H3068 And the LORD H1696 [H8762] said H4872 to Moses, H3212 [H8798] Go, H3381 [H8798] go down; H5971 for thy people, H5927 [H8689] which thou broughtest H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt, H7843 [H8765] have decayed themselves:

8 H5493 [H8804] They have turned H4118 aside quickly H1870 from the way H6680 [H8765] which I commanded H6213 [H8804] them: they have made H4541 them a molten H5695 calf, H7812 [H8691] and have worshipped H2076 [H8799] it, and have sacrificed H559 [H8799] to it, and said, H430 These are thy gods, H3478 O Israel, H5927 [H8689] which have brought thee H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt.

9 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H4872 to Moses, H7200 [H8804] I have seen H5971 this people, H7186 H6203 and, behold, it is a stiffnecked H5971 people:

10 H3240 [H8685] Now therefore let me alone, H639 that my anger H2734 [H8799] may burn H3615 [H8762] against them, and that I may consume H6213 [H8799] them: and I will make H1419 of thee a great H1471 nation.

11 H4872 And Moses H2470 H6440 [H8762] besought H3068 the LORD H430 his God, H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 LORD, H639 why doth thy anger H2734 [H8799] burn H5971 against thy people, H3318 [H8689] which thou hast brought forth H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt H1419 with great H3581 power, H2389 and with a mighty H3027 hand?

12 H4714 Why should the Egyptians H559 [H8799] speak, H559 [H8800] and say, H7451 For evil H3318 [H8689] did he bring H2026 [H8800] them out, to slay H2022 them in the mountains, H3615 [H8763] and to consume H6440 them from the face H127 of the soil? H7725 [H8798] Turn H2740 from thy burning H639 anger, H5162 [H8734] and sigh H7451 of this evil H5971 against thy people.

13 H2142 [H8798] Remember H85 Abraham, H3327 Isaac, H3478 and Israel, H5650 thy servants, H7650 [H8738] to whom thou sworest H1696 [H8762] by thine own self, and saidst H7235 [H8686] to them, I will multiply H2233 your seed H3556 as the stars H8064 of heaven, H776 and all this land H559 [H8804] that I have spoken H5414 [H8799] of will I give H2233 to your seed, H5157 [H8804] and they shall inherit H5769 it to the age.

14 H3068 And the LORD H5162 [H8735] sighed H7451 of the evil H1696 [H8765] which he thought H6213 [H8800] to do H5971 to his people.

15 H4872 And Moses H6437 [H8799] turned, H3381 [H8799] and went down H2022 from the mount, H8147 and the two H3871 tables H5715 of the testimony H3027 were in his hand: H3871 the tables H3789 [H8803] were written H8147 on both H5676 their sides; H3789 [H8803] on the one side and on the other were they written.

16 H3871 And the tables H4639 were the work H430 of God, H4385 and the writing H4385 was the writing H430 of God, H2801 [H8803] engraved H3871 upon the tables.

17 H3091 And when Joshua H8085 [H8799] heard H6963 the noise H5971 of the people H7452 as they shouted, H559 [H8799] he said H4872 to Moses, H6963 There is a noise H4421 of war H4264 in the camp.

18 H559 [H8799] And he said, H6963 It is not the voice H6030 [H8800] of those shouting H1369 for mastery, H6963 neither is it the voice H6030 [H8800] of those shouting H2476 for being overcome: H6963 but the noise H6031 [H8763] of them that sing H8085 [H8802] do I hear.

19 H7126 [H8804] And it came to pass, as soon as he came near H4264 to the camp, H7200 [H8799] that he saw H5695 the calf, H4246 and the dancing: H4872 and Moses' H639 anger H2734 [H8799] burned, H7993 [H8686] and he cast H3871 the tables H3027 from his hands, H7665 [H8762] and broke H8478 them beneath H2022 the mount.

20 H3947 [H8799] And he took H5695 the calf H6213 [H8804] which they had made, H8313 [H8799] and burnt H784 it in the fire, H2912 [H8799] and ground H1854 [H8804] it to powder, H2219 [H8799] and scattered H6440 it upon H4325 the water, H1121 and made the sons H3478 of Israel H8248 [H8686] drink of it.

21 H4872 And Moses H559 [H8799] said H175 to Aaron, H6213 [H8804] What did H5971 this people H935 [H8689] to thee, that thou hast brought H1419 so great H2401 a sin upon them?

22 H175 And Aaron H559 [H8799] said, H639 Let not the anger H113 of my sovereign H2734 [H8799] burn: H3045 [H8804] thou knowest H5971 the people, H7451 that they are set on evil.

23 H559 [H8799] For they said H6213 [H8798] to me, Make H430 us gods, H3212 [H8799] which shall go H6440 at the face of H4872 us: for as for this Moses, H376 the man H5927 [H8689] that brought us H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt, H3045 [H8804] we know not what is become of him.

24 H559 [H8799] And I said H2091 to them, Whoever hath any gold, H6561 [H8690] let them break H5414 [H8799] it off. So they gave H7993 [H8686] it to me: then I cast H784 it into the fire, H3318 [H8799] and there came out H5695 this calf.

25 H4872 And when Moses H7200 [H8799] saw H5971 that the people H6544 [H8803] were naked; H175 (for Aaron H6544 [H8804] had made them naked H8103 to their shame H6965 [H8801] among their uprisers:)

26 H4872 Then Moses H5975 [H8799] stood H8179 in the gate H4264 of the camp, H559 [H8799] and said, H3068 Who is on the LORD'S H1121 side? let him come to me. And all the sons H3878 of Levi H622 [H8735] gathered themselves together to him.

27 H559 [H8799] And he said H559 [H8804] to them, Thus saith H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel, H7760 [H8798] Put H376 every man H2719 his sword H3409 by his side, H5674 [H8798] and go H7725 [H8798] in and out H8179 from gate H8179 to gate H4264 throughout the camp, H2026 [H8798] and slay H376 every man H251 his brother, H376 and every man H7453 his companion, H376 and every man H7138 his neighbour.

28 H1121 And the sons H3878 of Levi H6213 [H8799] did H1697 according to the word H4872 of Moses: H5307 [H8799] and there fell H5971 of the people H3117 that day H7969 about three H505 thousand H376 men.

29 H4872 For Moses H559 [H8799] had said, H4390 H3027 [H8798] Consecrate yourselves H3117 to day H3068 to the LORD, H3588 even H376 every man H1121 upon his son, H251 and upon his brother; H5414 [H8800] that he may bestow H1293 upon you a blessing H3117 this day.

30 H4283 And it came to pass on the next day, H4872 that Moses H559 [H8799] said H5971 to the people, H2398 [H8804] Ye have sinned H1419 a great H2401 sin: H5927 [H8799] and now I will go up H3068 to the LORD; H194 perhaps H3722 [H8762] I shall make an atonement H1157 for H2403 your sin.

31 H4872 And Moses H7725 [H8799] returned H3068 to the LORD, H559 [H8799] and said, H577 O, H5971 this people H2398 [H8804] have sinned H1419 a great H2401 sin, H6213 [H8799] and have made H430 them gods H2091 of gold.

32 H5375 [H8799] Yet now, if thou wilt forgive H2403 their sin- H4229 [H8798] -; and if not, blot H5612 me, I pray thee, out of thy book H3789 [H8804] which thou hast written.

33 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H4872 to Moses, H834 Whoever H2398 [H8804] hath sinned H4229 [H8799] against me, him will I blot out H5612 of my book.

34 H3212 [H8798] Therefore now go, H5148 [H8798] lead H5971 the people H1696 [H8765] to the place of which I have spoken H4397 to thee: behold, my messenger H3212 [H8799] shall go H6440 at the face of H3117 thee: nevertheless in the day H6485 [H8800] when I visit H6485 [H8804] I will visit H2403 their sin upon them.

35 H3068 And the LORD H5062 [H8799] afflicted H5971 the people, H834 because H6213 [H8804] they made H5695 the calf, H834 which H175 Aaron H6213 [H8804] made.
