Numbers 20 ויבאו Then came בני the children ישׂראל of Israel, כל the whole העדה congregation, מדבר into the desert צן of Zin בחדשׁ month: הראשׁון in the first וישׁב abode העם and the people בקדשׁ in Kadesh; ותמת died שׁם there, מרים and Miriam ותקבר and was buried שׁם׃ there.

1 H935 ויבאו Then came H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3605 כל the whole H5712 העדה congregation, H4057 מדבר into the desert H6790 צן of Zin H2320 בחדשׁ month: H7223 הראשׁון in the first H3427 וישׁב abode H5971 העם and the people H6946 בקדשׁ in Kadesh; H4191 ותמת died H8033 שׁם there, H4813 מרים and Miriam H6912 ותקבר and was buried H8033 שׁם׃ there.

2 H3808 ולא no H1961 היה And there was H4325 מים water H5712 לעדה for the congregation: H6950 ויקהלו and they gathered themselves together H5921 על against H4872 משׁה Moses H5921 ועל and against H175 אהרן׃ Aaron.

3 H7378 וירב chided H5971 העם And the people H5973 עם with H4872 משׁה Moses, H559 ויאמרו and spoke, H559 לאמר saying, H3863 ולו Would God H1478 גוענו that we had died H1478 בגוע died H251 אחינו when our brethren H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD!

4 H4100 ולמה And why H935 הבאתם have ye brought up H853 את H6951 קהל the congregation H3068 יהוה of the Lord H413 אל into H4057 המדבר wilderness, H2088 הזה this H4191 למות should die H8033 שׁם there? H587 אנחנו that we H1165 ובעירנו׃ and our cattle

5 H4100 ולמה And wherefore H5927 העליתנו have ye made us to come up H4714 ממצרים H935 להביא H853 אתנו H413 אל unto H4725 המקום place? H7451 הרע evil H2088 הזה this H3808 לא it no H4725 מקום place H2233 זרע of seed, H8384 ותאנה or of figs, H1612 וגפן or of vines, H7416 ורמון or of pomegranates; H4325 ומים there any water H369 אין neither H8354 לשׁתות׃ to drink.

6 H935 ויבא went H4872 משׁה And Moses H175 ואהרן and Aaron H6440 מפני from the presence H6951 הקהל of the assembly H413 אל unto H6607 פתח the door H168 אהל of the tabernacle H4150 מועד of the congregation, H5307 ויפלו and they fell H5921 על upon H6440 פניהם their faces: H7200 וירא appeared H3519 כבוד and the glory H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אליהם׃ unto

7 H1696 וידבר spoke H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

8 H3947 קח Take H853 את H4294 המטה the rod, H6950 והקהל H853 את H5712 העדה so thou shalt give the congregation H859 אתה thou, H175 ואהרן and Aaron H251 אחיך thy brother, H1696 ודברתם and speak H413 אל ye unto H5553 הסלע the rock H5869 לעיניהם before their eyes; H5414 ונתן and it shall give forth H4325 מימיו his water, H3318 והוצאת and thou shalt bring forth H4325 להם מים to them water H4480 מן out of H5553 הסלע the rock: H8248 והשׁקית drink. H853 את H5712 העדה H853 ואת H1165 בעירם׃ and their beasts

9 H3947 ויקח took H4872 משׁה And Moses H853 את H4294 המטה the rod H6440 מלפני from before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוהו׃ he commanded

10 H6950 ויקהלו H4872 משׁה And Moses H175 ואהרן and Aaron H853 את H6951 הקהל H413 אל before H6440 פני before H5553 הסלע the rock, H559 ויאמר and he said H8085 להם שׁמעו unto them, Hear H4994 נא now, H4784 המרים ye rebels; H4480 המן out of H5553 הסלע rock? H2088 הזה this H3318 נוציא must we fetch H4325 לכם מים׃ you water

11 H7311 וירם lifted up H4872 משׁה And Moses H853 את H3027 ידו his hand, H5221 ויך he smote H853 את H5553 הסלע the rock H4294 במטהו and with his rod H6471 פעמים twice: H3318 ויצאו came out H4325 מים and the water H7227 רבים abundantly, H8354 ותשׁת drank, H5712 העדה and the congregation H1165 ובעירם׃ and their beasts

12 H559 ויאמר spoke H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses H413 ואל into H175 אהרן and Aaron, H3282 יען Because H3808 לא me not, H539 האמנתם ye believed H6942 בי להקדישׁני to sanctify H5869 לעיני me in the eyes H1121 בני of the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3651 לכן therefore H3808 לא ye shall not H935 תביאו bring H853 את H6951 הקהל congregation H2088 הזה this H413 אל H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתתי׃ I have given

13 H1992 המה This H4325 מי the water H4809 מריבה of Meribah; H834 אשׁר because H7378 רבו strove H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H854 את with H3069 יהוה H6942 ויקדשׁ׃ and he was sanctified

14 H7971 וישׁלח sent H4872 משׁה And Moses H4397 מלאכים messengers H6946 מקדשׁ H413 אל unto H4428 מלך the king H123 אדום of Edom, H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H251 אחיך thy brother H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H859 אתה Thou H3045 ידעת knowest H853 את H3605 כל all H8513 התלאה the travail H834 אשׁר that H4672 מצאתנו׃ hath befallen

15 H3381 וירדו went down H1 אבתינו How our fathers H4714 מצרימה into Egypt, H3427 ונשׁב and we have dwelt H4714 במצרים in Egypt H3117 ימים time; H7227 רבים a long H7489 וירעו vexed H4713 לנו מצרים H1 ולאבתינו׃ us, and our fathers:

16 H6817 ונצעק And when we cried H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD, H8085 וישׁמע he heard H6963 קלנו our voice, H7971 וישׁלח and sent H4397 מלאך an angel, H3318 ויצאנו and hath brought us forth H4714 ממצרים H2009 והנה and, behold, H587 אנחנו we H6946 בקדשׁ in Kadesh, H5892 עיר a city H7097 קצה in the uttermost H1366 גבולך׃ of thy border:

17 H5674 נעברה Let us pass, H4994 נא I pray thee, H776 בארצך through thy country: H3808 לא we will not H5674 נעבר pass through H7704 בשׂדה the fields, H3754 ובכרם or through the vineyards, H3808 ולא neither H8354 נשׁתה will we drink H4325 מי the water H875 באר of the wells: H1870 דרך way, H4428 המלך by the king's H1980 נלך we will go H3808 לא we will not H5186 נטה turn H3225 ימין to the right hand H8040 ושׂמאול nor to the left, H5704 עד until H834 אשׁר until H5674 נעבר we have passed H1366 גבלך׃ thy borders.

18 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H123 אדום And Edom H3808 לא him, Thou shalt not H5674 תעבר pass H6435 בי פן by me, lest H2719 בחרב thee with the sword. H3318 אצא I come out H7125 לקראתך׃ against

19 H559 ויאמרו said H413 אליו unto H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4546 במסלה by the high way: H5927 נעלה him, We will go H518 ואם and if H4325 מימיך of thy water, H8354 נשׁתה drink H589 אני I H4735 ומקני and my cattle H5414 ונתתי H4377 מכרם H7535 רק for it: I will only, H369 אין without H1697 דבר any thing H7272 ברגלי on my feet. H5674 אעברה׃ go through

20 H559 ויאמר And he said, H3808 לא Thou shalt not H5674 תעבר go through. H3318 ויצא came out H123 אדום And Edom H7125 לקראתו against H5971 בעם people, H3515 כבד him with much H3027 וביד hand. H2389 חזקה׃ and with a strong

21 H3985 וימאן refused H123 אדום Thus Edom H5414 נתן to give H853 את H3478 ישׂראל Israel H5674 עבר passage H1366 בגבלו through his border: H5186 ויט turned away H3478 ישׂראל wherefore Israel H5921 מעליו׃ from

22 H5265 ויסעו journeyed H6946 מקדשׁ H935 ויבאו and came H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3605 כל the whole H5712 העדה congregation, H2023 הר Hor. H2022 ההר׃ unto mount

23 H559 ויאמר spoke H3068 יהוה And the LORD H413 אל unto H4872 משׁה Moses H413 ואל H175 אהרן and Aaron H2023 בהר Hor, H2022 ההר in mount H5921 על by H1366 גבול the coast H776 ארץ of the land H123 אדום of Edom, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

24 H622 יאסף shall be gathered H175 אהרן Aaron H413 אל unto H5971 עמיו his people: H3588 כי for H3808 לא he shall not H935 יבא enter H413 אל into H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתתי I have given H1121 לבני unto the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H5921 על because H834 אשׁר because H4784 מריתם ye rebelled against H853 את H6310 פי my word H4325 למי at the water H4809 מריבה׃ of Meribah.

25 H3947 קח Take H853 את H175 אהרן Aaron H853 ואת H499 אלעזר and Eleazar H1121 בנו his son, H5927 והעל H853 אתם H2023 הר Hor: H2022 ההר׃ unto mount

26 H6584 והפשׁט And strip H853 את H175 אהרן Aaron H853 את H899 בגדיו of his garments, H3847 והלבשׁתם and put them upon H853 את H499 אלעזר Eleazar H1121 בנו his son: H175 ואהרן and Aaron H622 יאסף shall be gathered H4191 ומת and shall die H8033 שׁם׃ there.

27 H6213 ויעשׂ did H4872 משׁה And Moses H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה commanded: H3068 יהוה the LORD H5927 ויעלו and they went up H413 אל into H2023 הר Hor H2022 ההר mount H5869 לעיני in the sight H3605 כל of all H5712 העדה׃ the congregation.

28 H6584 ויפשׁט stripped H4872 משׁה And Moses H853 את H175 אהרן Aaron H853 את H899 בגדיו of his garments, H3847 וילבשׁ H854 אתם H853 את H499 אלעזר Eleazar H1121 בנו his son; H4191 וימת died H175 אהרן and Aaron H8033 שׁם there H7218 בראשׁ in the top H2022 ההר of the mount: H3381 וירד came down H4872 משׁה and Moses H499 ואלעזר and Eleazar H4480 מן from H2022 ההר׃ the mount.

29 H7200 ויראו saw H3605 כל And when all H5712 העדה the congregation H3588 כי that H1478 גוע was dead, H175 אהרן Aaron H1058 ויבכו they mourned H853 את H175 אהרן for Aaron H7970 שׁלשׁים thirty H3117 יום days, H3605 כל all H1004 בית the house H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.
