Proverbs 22

KJV_Strongs(i)
H8034 A good name H977 is rather to be chosen [H8737]   H7227 than great H6239 riches H2896 , and loving H2580 favour H3701 rather than silver H2091 and gold.
H6223 The rich H7326 and poor [H8802]   H6298 meet together [H8738]   H3068 : the LORD H6213 is the maker [H8802]   of them all.
H6175 A prudent H7200 man foreseeth [H8804]   H7451 the evil H5641 , and hideth [H8738]   [H8675]   H5641   [H8799]   H6612 himself: but the simple H5674 pass on [H8804]   H6064 , and are punished [H8738]  .
H6118 By H6038 humility H3374 and the fear H3068 of the LORD H6239 are riches H3519 , and honour H2416 , and life.
H6791 Thorns H6341 and snares H1870 are in the way H6141 of the froward H8104 : he that doth keep [H8802]   H5315 his soul H7368 shall be far [H8799]   from them.
H2596 Train up [H8798]   H5288 a child H1870 in the way H6310 he should go H2204 : and when he is old [H8686]   H5493 , he will not depart [H8799]   from it.
H6223 The rich H4910 ruleth [H8799]   H7326 over the poor [H8802]   H3867 , and the borrower [H8801]   H5650 is servant H376 to the lender H3867   [H8688]  .
H2232 He that soweth [H8802]   H5766 iniquity H7114 shall reap [H8799]   H205 vanity H7626 : and the rod H5678 of his anger H3615 shall fail [H8799]  .
H2896 He that hath a bountiful H5869 eye H1288 shall be blessed [H8792]   H5414 ; for he giveth [H8804]   H3899 of his bread H1800 to the poor.
H1644 Cast out [H8763]   H3887 the scorner [H8801]   H4066 , and contention H3318 shall go out [H8799]   H1779 ; yea, strife H7036 and reproach H7673 shall cease [H8799]  .
H157 He that loveth [H8802]   H2890 pureness [H8675]   H2889   H3820 of heart H2580 , for the grace H8193 of his lips H4428 the king H7453 shall be his friend.
H5869 The eyes H3068 of the LORD H5341 preserve [H8804]   H1847 knowledge H5557 , and he overthroweth [H8762]   H1697 the words H898 of the transgressor [H8802]  .
H6102 The slothful H559 man saith [H8804]   H738 , There is a lion H2351 without H7523 , I shall be slain [H8735]   H8432 in H7339 the streets.
H6310 The mouth H2114 of strange women [H8801]   H6013 is a deep H7745 pit H2194 : he that is abhorred [H8803]   H3068 of the LORD H5307 shall fall [H8799]   therein.
H200 Foolishness H7194 is bound [H8803]   H3820 in the heart H5288 of a child H7626 ; but the rod H4148 of correction H7368 shall drive it far [H8686]   from him.
H6231 He that oppresseth [H8802]   H1800 the poor H7235 to increase [H8687]   H5414 his riches, and he that giveth [H8802]   H6223 to the rich H4270 , shall surely come to want.
H5186 Bow down [H8685]   H241 thine ear H8085 , and hear [H8798]   H1697 the words H2450 of the wise H7896 , and apply [H8799]   H3820 thine heart H1847 unto my knowledge.
H5273 For it is a pleasant thing H8104 if thou keep [H8799]   H990 them within H3162 thee; they shall withal H3559 be fitted [H8735]   H8193 in thy lips.
H4009 That thy trust H3068 may be in the LORD H3045 , I have made known [H8689]   H3117 to thee this day, even to thee.
H3789 Have not I written [H8804]   H8032 to thee H7991 excellent things H4156 in counsels H1847 and knowledge,
H3045 That I might make thee know [H8687]   H7189 the certainty H561 of the words H571 of truth H7725 ; that thou mightest answer [H8687]   H561 the words H571 of truth H7971 to them that send [H8802]   unto thee?
H1497 Rob [H8799]   H1800 not the poor H1800 , because he is poor H1792 : neither oppress [H8762]   H6041 the afflicted H8179 in the gate:
H3068 For the LORD H7378 will plead [H8799]   H7379 their cause H6906 , and spoil [H8804]   H5315 the soul H6906 of those that spoiled [H8802]   them.
H7462 Make no friendship [H8691]   H639 with an angry H1167 man H2534 ; and with a furious H376 man H935 thou shalt not go [H8799]  :
H502 Lest thou learn [H8799]   H734 his ways H3947 , and get [H8804]   H4170 a snare H5315 to thy soul.
H8628 Be not thou one of them that strike [H8802]   H3709 hands H6148 , or of them that are sureties [H8802]   H4859 for debts.
H7999 If thou hast nothing to pay [H8763]   H3947 , why should he take away [H8799]   H4904 thy bed from under thee?
H5253 Remove [H8686]   H5769 not the ancient H1366 landmark H1 , which thy fathers H6213 have set [H8804]  .
H2372 Seest [H8804]   H376 thou a man H4106 diligent H4399 in his business H3320 ? he shall stand [H8691]   H6440 before H4428 kings H3320 ; he shall not stand [H8691]   H6440 before H2823 mean men .
ERV(i) 1 A [good] name is rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold. 2 The rich and the poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all. 3 A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. 4 The reward of humility [and] the fear of the LORD [is] riches, and honour, and life. 5 Thorns [and] snares are in the way of the froward: he that keepeth his soul shall be far from them. 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it. 7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. 8 He that soweth iniquity shall reap calamity: and the rod of his wrath shall fail. 9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. 10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and ignominy shall cease. 11 He that loveth pureness of heart, [for] the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. 12 The eyes of the LORD preserve [him that hath] knowledge, but he overthroweth the words of the treacherous man. 13 The sluggard saith, There is a lion without: I shall be murdered in the streets. 14 The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein. 15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. 16 He that oppresseth the poor to increase his [gain, and] he that giveth to the rich, [cometh] only to want. 17 Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. 18 For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee, if they be established together upon thy lips. 19 That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made [them] known to thee this day, even to thee. 20 Have not I written unto thee excellent things of counsels and knowledge; 21 To make thee know the certainty of the words of truth, that thou mayest carry back words of truth to them that send thee? 22 Rob not the poor, because he is poor, neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: 23 For the LORD will plead their cause, and despoil of life those that despoil them. 24 Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; and with a wrathful man thou shalt not go: 25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. 26 Be thou not one of them that strike hands, [or] of them that are sureties for debts: 27 If thou hast not wherewith to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee? 28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. 29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
