Exodus 40 And the LORD spake unto Moses , saying ,

1 H3068 And the LORD H1696 spake [H8762] H4872 unto Moses H559 , saying [H8800] ,

2 H7223 On the first H3117 day H259 of the first H2320 month H6965 shalt thou set up [H8686] H4908 the tabernacle H168 of the tent H4150 of the congregation.

3 H7760 And thou shalt put [H8804] H8033 therein H727 the ark H5715 of the testimony H5526 , and cover [H8804] H727 the ark H6532 with the vail.

4 H935 And thou shalt bring [H8689] H7979 in the table H6186 , and set in order [H8804] H6187 the things that are to be set in order H935 upon it; and thou shalt bring [H8689] H4501 in the candlestick H5927 , and light [H8689] H5216 the lamps thereof.

5 H5414 And thou shalt set [H8804] H4196 the altar H2091 of gold H7004 for the incense H6440 before H727 the ark H5715 of the testimony H7760 , and put [H8804] H4539 the hanging H6607 of the door H4908 to the tabernacle.

6 H5414 And thou shalt set [H8804] H4196 the altar H5930 of the burnt offering H6440 before H6607 the door H4908 of the tabernacle H168 of the tent H4150 of the congregation.

7 H5414 And thou shalt set [H8804] H3595 the laver H168 between the tent H4150 of the congregation H4196 and the altar H5414 , and shalt put [H8804] H4325 water therein.

8 H7760 And thou shalt set up [H8804] H2691 the court H5439 round about H5414 , and hang up [H8804] H4539 the hanging H2691 at the court H8179 gate.

9 H3947 And thou shalt take [H8804] H4888 the anointing H8081 oil H4886 , and anoint [H8804] H4908 the tabernacle H6942 , and all that is therein, and shalt hallow [H8765] H3627 it, and all the vessels H6944 thereof: and it shall be holy.

10 H4886 And thou shalt anoint [H8804] H4196 the altar H5930 of the burnt offering H3627 , and all his vessels H6942 , and sanctify [H8765] H4196 the altar H4196 : and it shall be an altar H6944 most H6944 holy.

11 H4886 And thou shalt anoint [H8804] H3595 the laver H3653 and his foot H6942 , and sanctify [H8765] it.

12 H7126 And thou shalt bring [H8689] H175 Aaron H1121 and his sons H6607 unto the door H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H7364 , and wash [H8804] H4325 them with water.

13 H3847 And thou shalt put [H8689] H175 upon Aaron H6944 the holy H899 garments H4886 , and anoint [H8804] H6942 him, and sanctify [H8765] H3547 him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office [H8765] .

14 H7126 And thou shalt bring [H8686] H1121 his sons H3847 , and clothe [H8689] H3801 them with coats:

15 H4886 And thou shalt anoint [H8804] H4886 them, as thou didst anoint [H8804] H1 their father H3547 , that they may minister unto me in the priest's office [H8765] H4888 : for their anointing H5769 shall surely be an everlasting H3550 priesthood H1755 throughout their generations.

16 H6213 Thus did [H8799] H4872 Moses H3068 : according to all that the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H6213 him, so did [H8804] he.

17 H7223 And it came to pass in the first H2320 month H8145 in the second H8141 year H259 , on the first H2320 day of the month H4908 , that the tabernacle H6965 was reared up [H8717] .

18 H4872 And Moses H6965 reared up [H8686] H4908 the tabernacle H5414 , and fastened [H8799] H134 his sockets H7760 , and set up [H8799] H7175 the boards H5414 thereof, and put [H8799] H1280 in the bars H6965 thereof, and reared up [H8686] H5982 his pillars.

19 H6566 And he spread abroad [H8799] H168 the tent H4908 over the tabernacle H7760 , and put [H8799] H4372 the covering H168 of the tent H4605 above H3068 upon it; as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

20 H3947 And he took [H8799] H5414 and put [H8799] H5715 the testimony H727 into the ark H7760 , and set [H8799] H905 the staves H727 on the ark H5414 , and put [H8799] H3727 the mercy seat H4605 above H727 upon the ark:

21 H935 And he brought [H8686] H727 the ark H4908 into the tabernacle H7760 , and set up [H8799] H6532 the vail H4539 of the covering H5526 , and covered [H8686] H727 the ark H5715 of the testimony H3068 ; as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

22 H5414 And he put [H8799] H7979 the table H168 in the tent H4150 of the congregation H3409 , upon the side H4908 of the tabernacle H6828 northward H2351 , without H6532 the vail.

23 H6187 And he set H3899 the bread H6186 in order [H8799] H6440 upon it before H3068 the LORD H3068 ; as the LORD H6680 had commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

24 H7760 And he put [H8799] H4501 the candlestick H168 in the tent H4150 of the congregation H5227 , over against H7979 the table H3409 , on the side H4908 of the tabernacle H5045 southward.

25 H5927 And he lighted [H8686] H5216 the lamps H6440 before H3068 the LORD H3068 ; as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

26 H7760 And he put [H8799] H2091 the golden H4196 altar H168 in the tent H4150 of the congregation H6440 before H6532 the vail:

27 H6999 And he burnt [H8686] H5561 sweet H7004 incense H3068 thereon; as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

28 H7760 And he set up [H8799] H4539 the hanging H6607 at the door H4908 of the tabernacle.

29 H7760 And he put [H8804] H4196 the altar H5930 of burnt offering H6607 by the door H4908 of the tabernacle H168 of the tent H4150 of the congregation H5927 , and offered [H8686] H5930 upon it the burnt offering H4503 and the meat offering H3068 ; as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

30 H7760 And he set [H8799] H3595 the laver H168 between the tent H4150 of the congregation H4196 and the altar H5414 , and put [H8799] H4325 water H7364 there, to wash [H8800] withal .

31 H4872 And Moses H175 and Aaron H1121 and his sons H7364 washed [H8804] H3027 their hands H7272 and their feet thereat:

32 H935 When they went [H8800] H168 into the tent H4150 of the congregation H7126 , and when they came near [H8800] H4196 unto the altar H7364 , they washed [H8799] H3068 ; as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

33 H6965 And he reared up [H8686] H2691 the court H5439 round about H4908 the tabernacle H4196 and the altar H5414 , and set up [H8799] H4539 the hanging H2691 of the court H8179 gate H4872 . So Moses H3615 finished [H8762] H4399 the work.

34 H6051 Then a cloud H3680 covered [H8762] H168 the tent H4150 of the congregation H3519 , and the glory H3068 of the LORD H4390 filled [H8804] H4908 the tabernacle.

35 H4872 And Moses H3201 was not able [H8804] H935 to enter [H8800] H168 into the tent H4150 of the congregation H6051 , because the cloud H7931 abode [H8804] H3519 thereon, and the glory H3068 of the LORD H4390 filled [H8804] H4908 the tabernacle.

36 H6051 And when the cloud H5927 was taken up [H8736] H5921 from H4908 over the tabernacle H1121 , the children H3478 of Israel H5265 went onward [H8799] H4550 in all their journeys:

37 H6051 But if the cloud H5927 were not taken up [H8735] H5265 , then they journeyed [H8799] H3117 not till the day H5927 that it was taken up [H8736] .

38 H6051 For the cloud H3068 of the LORD H4908 was upon the tabernacle H3119 by day H784 , and fire H3915 was on it by night H5869 , in the sight H1004 of all the house H3478 of Israel H4550 , throughout all their journeys.

3 H7760 ושׂמת And thou shalt put H8033 שׁם therein H853 את H727 ארון the ark H5715 העדות of the testimony, H5526 וסכת and cover H5921 על and cover H727 הארן the ark H854 את with H6532 הפרכת׃ the veil.

4 H935 והבאת And thou shalt bring in H853 את H7979 השׁלחן the table, H6186 וערכת and set in order H853 את H6187 ערכו the things that are to be set in order H935 והבאת upon it; and thou shalt bring in H853 את H4501 המנרה the candlestick, H5927 והעלית and light H853 את H5216 נרתיה׃ the lamps

5 H5414 ונתתה And thou shalt set H853 את H4196 מזבח the altar H2091 הזהב of gold H7004 לקטרת for the incense H6440 לפני before H727 ארון the ark H5715 העדת of the testimony, H7760 ושׂמת and put H853 את H4539 מסך the hanging H6607 הפתח of the door H4908 למשׁכן׃ to the tabernacle.

6 H5414 ונתתה And thou shalt set H853 את H4196 מזבח the altar H5930 העלה of the burnt offering H6440 לפני before H6607 פתח the door H4908 משׁכן of the tabernacle H168 אהל of the tent H4150 מועד׃ of the congregation.

7 H5414 ונתת And thou shalt set H853 את H3595 הכיר the laver H996 בין between H168 אהל the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation H996 ובין H4196 המזבח and the altar, H5414 ונתת and shalt put H8033 שׁם therein. H4325 מים׃ water

8 H7760 ושׂמת And thou shalt set up H853 את H2691 החצר the court H5439 סביב round about, H5414 ונתת and hang up H853 את H4539 מסך the hanging H8179 שׁער gate. H2691 החצר׃ at the court

9 H3947 ולקחת And thou shalt take H853 את H8081 שׁמן oil, H4888 המשׁחה the anointing H4886 ומשׁחת and anoint H853 את H4908 המשׁכן the tabernacle, H853 ואת H3605 כל and all H834 אשׁר that H6942 בו וקדשׁת therein, and shalt hallow H853 אתו H853 ואת H3605 כל it, and all H3627 כליו the vessels H1961 והיה thereof: and it shall be H6944 קדשׁ׃ holy.

10 H4886 ומשׁחת And thou shalt anoint H853 את H4196 מזבח the altar H5930 העלה of the burnt offering, H853 ואת H3605 כל and all H3627 כליו his vessels, H6942 וקדשׁת and sanctify H853 את H4196 המזבח the altar: H1961 והיה and it shall be H4196 המזבח an altar H6944 קדשׁ most holy. H6944 קדשׁים׃ most holy.

11 H4886 ומשׁחת And thou shalt anoint H853 את H3595 הכיר the laver H853 ואת H3653 כנו and his foot, H6942 וקדשׁת and sanctify H853 אתו׃

12 H7126 והקרבת And thou shalt bring H853 את H175 אהרן Aaron H853 ואת H1121 בניו and his sons H413 אל unto H6607 פתח the door H168 אהל of the tabernacle H4150 מועד of the congregation, H7364 ורחצת and wash H853 אתם H4325 במים׃ them with water.

13 H3847 והלבשׁת And thou shalt put upon H853 את H175 אהרן Aaron H854 את H899 בגדי garments, H6944 הקדשׁ the holy H4886 ומשׁחת and anoint H853 אתו H6942 וקדשׁת him, and sanctify H853 אתו H3547 וכהן׃ him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

14 H853 ואת H1121 בניו his sons, H7126 תקריב And thou shalt bring H3847 והלבשׁת and clothe H853 אתם H3801 כתנת׃ them with coats:

15 H4886 ומשׁחת And thou shalt anoint H853 אתם H834 כאשׁר them, as H4886 משׁחת thou didst anoint H853 את H1 אביהם their father, H3547 וכהנו that they may minister unto me in the priest's office: H1961 לי והיתה shall surely be H1961 להית shall surely be H4888 להם משׁחתם H3550 לכהנת priesthood H5769 עולם an everlasting H1755 לדרתם׃ throughout their generations.

16 H6213 ויעשׂ Thus did H4872 משׁה Moses: H3605 ככל according to all H834 אשׁר that H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 אתו H3651 כן him, so H6213 עשׂה׃ did

17 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H2320 בחדשׁ month H7223 הראשׁון in the first H8141 בשׁנה year, H8145 השׁנית in the second H259 באחד on the first H2320 לחדשׁ of the month, H6965 הוקם was reared up. H4908 המשׁכן׃ the tabernacle

18 H6965 ויקם reared up H4872 משׁה And Moses H853 את H4908 המשׁכן the tabernacle, H5414 ויתן and fastened H853 את H134 אדניו his sockets, H7760 וישׂם and set up H853 את H7175 קרשׁיו the boards H5414 ויתן thereof, and put in H853 את H1280 בריחיו the bars H6965 ויקם thereof, and reared up H853 את H5982 עמודיו׃ his pillars.

19 H6566 ויפרשׂ And he spread abroad H853 את H168 האהל the tent H5921 על over H4908 המשׁכן the tabernacle, H7760 וישׂם and put H853 את H4372 מכסה the covering H168 האהל of the tent H5921 עליו upon H4605 מלמעלה above H834 כאשׁר it; as H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

20 H3947 ויקח And he took H5414 ויתן and put H853 את H5715 העדת the testimony H413 אל into H727 הארן the ark, H7760 וישׂם and set H853 את H905 הבדים the staves H5921 על on H727 הארן the ark, H5414 ויתן and put H853 את H3727 הכפרת the mercy seat H5921 על upon H727 הארן the ark: H4605 מלמעלה׃ above

21 H935 ויבא And he brought H853 את H727 הארן the ark H413 אל into H4908 המשׁכן the tabernacle, H7760 וישׂם and set up H853 את H6532 פרכת the veil H4539 המסך of the covering, H5526 ויסך and covered H5921 על and covered H727 ארון the ark H5715 העדות of the testimony; H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

22 H5414 ויתן And he put H853 את H7979 השׁלחן the table H168 באהל in the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation, H5921 על upon H3409 ירך the side H4908 המשׁכן of the tabernacle H6828 צפנה northward, H2351 מחוץ without H6532 לפרכת׃ the veil.

23 H6186 ויערך And he set H5921 עליו upon H6187 ערך in order H3899 לחם the bread H6440 לפני it before H3068 יהוה the LORD; H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה had commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

24 H7760 וישׂם And he put H853 את H4501 המנרה the candlestick H168 באהל in the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation, H5227 נכח over against H7979 השׁלחן the table, H5921 על on H3409 ירך the side H4908 המשׁכן of the tabernacle H5045 נגבה׃ southward.

25 H5927 ויעל And he lighted H5216 הנרת the lamps H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD; H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

26 H7760 וישׂם And he put H853 את H4196 מזבח altar H2091 הזהב the golden H168 באהל in the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation H6440 לפני before H6532 הפרכת׃ the veil:

27 H6999 ויקטר And he burnt H5921 עליו thereon; H7004 קטרת incense H5561 סמים sweet H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

28 H7760 וישׂם And he set up H853 את H4539 מסך the hanging H6607 הפתח the door H4908 למשׁכן׃ of the tabernacle.

29 H853 ואת H4196 מזבח the altar H5930 העלה of burnt offering H7760 שׂם And he put H6607 פתח the door H4908 משׁכן of the tabernacle H168 אהל of the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation, H5927 ויעל and offered H5921 עליו upon H853 את H5930 העלה it the burnt offering H853 ואת H4503 המנחה and the meat offering; H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

30 H7760 וישׂם And he set H853 את H3595 הכיר the laver H996 בין between H168 אהל the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation H996 ובין H4196 המזבח and the altar, H5414 ויתן and put H8033 שׁמה there, H4325 מים water H7364 לרחצה׃ to wash

31 H7364 ורחצו washed H4480 ממנו thereat: H4872 משׁה And Moses H175 ואהרן and Aaron H1121 ובניו and his sons H853 את H3027 ידיהם their hands H853 ואת H7272 רגליהם׃ and their feet

32 H935 בבאם When they went H413 אל into H168 אהל the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation, H7126 ובקרבתם and when they came near H413 אל unto H4196 המזבח the altar, H7364 ירחצו they washed; H834 כאשׁר as H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H4872 משׁה׃ Moses.

33 H6965 ויקם And he reared up H853 את H2691 החצר the court H5439 סביב round about H4908 למשׁכן the tabernacle H4196 ולמזבח and the altar, H5414 ויתן and set up H853 את H4539 מסך the hanging H8179 שׁער gate. H2691 החצר of the court H3615 ויכל finished H4872 משׁה So Moses H853 את H4399 המלאכה׃ the work.

34 H3680 ויכס covered H6051 הענן Then a cloud H853 את H168 אהל the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation, H3519 וכבוד and the glory H3068 יהוה of the LORD H4390 מלא filled H853 את H4908 המשׁכן׃ the tabernacle.

35 H3808 ולא was not H3201 יכל able H4872 משׁה And Moses H935 לבוא to enter H413 אל into H168 אהל the tent H4150 מועד of the congregation, H3588 כי because H7931 שׁכן abode H5921 עליו thereon, H6051 הענן the cloud H3519 וכבוד and the glory H3068 יהוה of the LORD H4390 מלא filled H853 את H4908 המשׁכן׃ the tabernacle.

36 H5927 ובהעלות was taken up H6051 הענן And when the cloud H5921 מעל from over H4908 המשׁכן the tabernacle, H5265 יסעו went onward H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3605 בכל in all H4550 מסעיהם׃ their journeys:

37 H518 ואם But if H3808 לא were not H5927 יעלה taken up, H6051 הענן the cloud H3808 ולא not H5265 יסעו then they journeyed H5704 עד till H3117 יום the day H5927 העלתו׃ that it was taken up.

38 H3588 כי For H6051 ענן the cloud H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5921 על upon H4908 המשׁכן the tabernacle H3119 יומם by day, H784 ואשׁ and fire H1961 תהיה was H3915 לילה on it by night, H5869 בו לעיני in the sight H3605 כל of all H1004 בית the house H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3605 בכל throughout all H4550 מסעיהם׃ their journeys.
