2 H5633 And the lords H6430 of the Philistines H5674 [H8802] passed on H3967 by hundreds, H505 and by thousands: H1732 but David H582 and his men H5674 [H8802] passed on H314 in the rear H397 with Achish.
3 H559 [H8799] Then said H8269 the princes H6430 of the Philistines, H5680 What do these Hebrews H397 here? And Achish H559 [H8799] said H8269 to the princes H6430 of the Philistines, H1732 Is not this David, H5650 the servant H7586 of Saul H4428 the king H3478 of Israel, H3117 who hath been with me these days, H8141 or these years, H4672 [H8804] and I have found H3972 no fault H3117 in him since H5307 [H8800] he fell H3117 to me to this day?
4 H8269 And the princes H6430 of the Philistines H7107 [H8799] burst out in rage H8269 with him; and the princes H6430 of the Philistines H559 [H8799] said H7725 0 to him, Make H376 this fellow H7725 [H8685] return, H7725 [H8799] that he may go again H4725 to his place H6485 [H8689] which thou hast appointed H3381 [H8799] him, and let him not go down H4421 with us to battle, H4421 lest in the battle H7854 he should be an adversary H7521 [H8691] to us: for how should he reconcile H113 himself to his master? H7218 should it not be with the heads H582 of these men?
5 H1732 Is not this David, H6030 [H8799] of whom they sang H4246 one to another in dances, H559 [H8800] saying, H7586 Saul H5221 [H8689] slew H505 his thousands, H1732 and David H7233 his ten thousands?
6 H397 Then Achish H7121 [H8799] called H1732 David, H559 [H8799] and said H3068 to him, Surely, as the LORD H2416 liveth, H3477 thou hast been upright, H3318 [H8800] and thy going out H935 [H8800] and thy coming in H4264 with me in the host H2896 is good H5869 in my eyes: H4672 [H8804] for I have not found H7451 evil H3117 in thee from the day H935 [H8800] of thy coming H3117 to me to this day: H5633 nevertheless the lords H2896 favour H5869 thee not.
  7 H7725 [H8798] Therefore now return, H3212 [H8798] and go H7965 in peace, H6213 H7451 H5869 [H8799] that thou displease H5633 not the lords H6430 of the Philistines.
8 H1732 And David H559 [H8799] said H397 to Achish, H6213 [H8804] But what have I done? H4672 [H8804] and what hast thou found H5650 in thy servant H3117 so long as H6440 I have been with thee H3117 to this day, H935 [H8799] that I may not go H3898 [H8738] and fight H341 [H8802] against the enemies H113 of my sovereign H4428 the king?
9 H397 And Achish H6030 [H8799] answered H559 [H8799] and said H1732 to David, H3045 [H8804] I know H2896 that thou art good H5869 in my eyes, H4397 as a messenger H430 of God: H8269 however the princes H6430 of the Philistines H559 [H8804] have said, H5927 [H8799] He shall not go up H4421 with us to the battle.

Achis saide vnto the: Is not this Dauid ye seruaunt of Saul kynge of Israel, which hath bene with me now yeares and dayes, & I haue founde no euell in him sence the tyme that he fell to me vnto this daye? 4 Neuertheles the prynces of ye Philistynes were wroth at him, & sayde vnto him: Let the man turne backe agayne, & abyde in his place, which thou hast appoynted him, that he go not downe with vs to ye batayll, and become oure aduersary in ye felde. For wherin coulde he better do his lorde a pleasure, the in the heades of these men? 5 Is not this Dauid, of whom they sunge in the daunce: Saul hath smytte his thousande, but Dauid his ten thousande? 6 Then Achis called Dauid, and sayde vnto him: As truly as the LORDE lyueth, I take the for an honest man, and thy out goynge and ingoynge with me in ye hoost pleaseth me well, and no euell haue I marked in the, sence ye tyme that thou camest to me vnto this daye. But the Philistynes wente vp towarde Iesrael.
MSTC(i) 2 And the lords of the Philistines went forth by hundreds and by thousands. But David and his men came behind with Achish. 3 Then said the lords of the Philistines, "What are yonder Hebrews?" And Achish said unto the lords of the Philistines, "Is not this David the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me days or years? And I have found no fault in him since he fled unto me unto this day." 4 Nevertheless the lords of the Philistines were wroth with him and said unto him, "Make this fellow return, and let him go again to his place which thou hast appointed him. For he shall not go with us to do battle, lest he be an adversary to us in the battle. For wherewith could he better obtain the favour of his master, than upon the heads of our men? 5 Is not this David to whom they sang in dances, 'Saul slew his thousand, but David his ten thousand?'" 6 Then Achish called David and said unto him, "As sure as the LORD liveth thou art honest, and it pleaseth me well that thou shouldest accompany me in the host, for I have found none evil with thee since thou camest to me unto this day. Nevertheless, the lords of the Philistines favour thee not: 7 wherefore return and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines." 8 And David said again to Achish, "Why, what have I done? And what hast thou found in thy servant as long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?" 9 Achish answered and said to David, "I know well thou pleasest me, as it were an angel of God. Notwithstanding, the lords of the Philistines have said that thou shalt not go with them to battle. 10 Wherefore rise up early in the morning, with thy master's servants that are come with thee. And when ye be up early as soon as ye have light, depart." 11 And so David and his men rose early to depart in the morning, and to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
Matthew(i) 2 And the Lordes of the Philistines went forthe by the hundredes & by the thousandes. But Dauid & hys men came behynde with Achis. 3 Then said the lordes of the Philistines: what are younder Ebrues? And Achis said vnto the lordes of the Philistines: Is not this Dauid the seruaunt of Saul the king of Israell, whyche hath bene wt me daies or yeres, & I haue found no fault in him sence he fleed vnto me vnto this daie. 4 Neuerthelesse the lordes of the Philistines were wroth wt him & said vnto him: make this felow returne, & let him go agayn to his place which thou hast appointed hym. For he shall not go with vs to battel, lest he be an aduersarye to vs in the battel. Thomson(i) 2 Now when the lords of the Philistines were on their march, at the head of their hundreds and thousands, and David and his men were marching in the rear with Angchus, 3 the lords of the Philistines said, Who are these marching here? And Angchus said to the generals of the Philistines, Who, but David the servant of Saul? He hath been long with us. This is the second year, and I have found no fault in him from the day he came to me to this day. 4 But the generals of the Philistines were offended at him, and said to him, Send this man away and let him return to his place where thou hast fixed him, and let him not go with us to battle, nor be let into the councils of the army. How can he reconcile himself to his master? Will it not be with the heads of these men? 5 Is not this the David of whom they sung the responsive song in choirs, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 6 Then Angchus called David, and said to him. As the Lord liveth, Thou art good, and upright in my eyes, and so is thy going out and thy coming in with me in the army. Indeed I have not found any thing amiss in thee from the day of thy coming to me even to this day. But thou art not in favour with the lords. 7 Now therefore return, and go in peace, that thou mayst not give offence to the lords of the Philistines. 8 And David said to Angchus, What have I done to thee, and what hast thou found in thy servant from the day I came to thee to this day, that I may not go and fight the enemies of my lord the king? 9 And Angchus replied to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, but the lords of the Philistines say, He shall not go with us to battle; 10 now therefore rise early to-morrow morning, thou and the servants of thy lord who have come with thee, and go to the place where I have fixed thee, and harbour not an evil thought in thy heart; for thou art good in my sight. Be up betimes for the march, and soon as you have light depart. 11 So David arose early, he and his men, to go and guard the land of the Philistines, while the Philistines went up to battle at Jezrael.

Will it not be with the heads of those men? 5 Is not this David whom they celebrated in dances, saying, Saul has smitten his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 6 And Anchus called David, and said to him, As the Lord lives, thou art right and approved in my eyes, and so is thy going out and thy coming in with me in the army, and I have not found any evil to charge against thee from the day that thou camest to me until this day: but thou art not approved in the eyes of the lords. 7 Now then return and go in peace, thus thou shalt not do evil in the sight of the lords of the Philistines. 8 And David said to Anchus, What have I done to thee? and what hast thou found in thy servant from the first day that I was before thee even until this day, that I should not come and war against the enemies of the lord my king? 9 And Anchus answered David, I know that thou art good in my eyes, but the lords of the Philistines say, He shall not come with us to the war. 10 Now then rise up early in the morning, thou and the servants of thy lord that are come with thee, and go to the place where I appointed you, and entertain no evil thought in thy heart, for thou art good in my sight: and rise early for your journey when it is light, and depart. 11 So David arose early, he and his men, to depart and guard the land of the Philistines: and the Philistines went up to Jezrael to battle.

Leeser(i) 2 And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands; but David and his men passed on at the last with Achish. 3 Then said the princes of the Philistines, What are these Hebrews to do? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Behold, this is David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who hath been with me already a year, or even years, and I have not found the least in him to blame from the day of his joining me until this day? 4 And the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Cause this man to go back, that he may return to his place whither thou hast assigned him; but he shall not go down with us to the battle, that he may not become an adversary to us in the battle; for wherewith could this person reconcile himself unto his master? is it not by means of the heads of these men? 5 Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in the dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 6 Then did Achish call David, and say unto him, As the Lord liveth, I declare that thou art upright, and that thy going out and thy coming in with me in the camp is good in my eyes; for I have not found in thee any evil from the day of thy coming unto me until this day; nevertheless in the eyes of the lords thou art not good. 7 And now return, and go in peace, that thou mayest not do any evil in the eyes of the lords of the Philistines. 8 And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant from the day that I have been before thee, until this day, that I shall not go to fight against the enemies of my Lord the king? 9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my eyes, as an angel of God; nevertheless, the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. 10 And now rise up early in the morning with the servants of thy master that are come with thee: and rise then up early in the morning, and when ye have light, go away. 11 And David and his men rose up early to go away in the morning, to return unto the land of the Philistines; but the Philistines went up to Yizre’el.
YLT(i) 2 and the princes of the Philistines are passing on by hundreds, and by thousands, and David and his men are passing on in the rear with Achish. 3 And the heads of the Philistines say, `What are these Hebrews?' and Achish saith unto the heads of the Philistines, `Is not this David servant of Saul king of Israel, who hath been with me these days or these years, and I have not found in him anything wrong from the day of his falling away till this day.' 4 And the heads of the Philistines are wroth against him, and the heads of the Philistines say to him, `Send back the man, and he doth turn back unto his place whither thou hast appointed him, and doth not go down with us into battle, and is not to us for an adversary in battle; and wherewith doth this one reconcile himself unto his lord—is it not with the heads of those men?' 5 Is not this David, of whom they answer in choruses, saying, Saul hath smitten among his thousands, and David among his myriads?'

Rotherham(i) 2 And, the lords of the Philistines, were passing on by hundreds, and by thousands,––but, David and his men, were passing on in the rear, with Achish. 3 Then said the princes of the Philistines, What are these Hebrews [doing]? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines––Is not this David, servant of Saul king of Israel, who hath been with me this year, or two, and I have found in him nothing, from the day of his coming over unto me unto this day? 4 But the princes of the Philistines raged against him, and the princes of the Philistines said unto him––Let the man go back, that he may return unto the place which thou didst appoint him, and let him not go down with us, into battle, so shall he not become to us a traitor, in the battle,––for, wherewith, should this fellow gain favour with his lord? Would it not be with the heads of those men? 5 Is not this David, of whom they made responses in the dances, saying,––Saul, hath smitten, his thousands, But, David, his, tens of thousands?
6 So Achish called for David, and said unto him––By the life of Yahweh, surely, upright, thou art, and, pleasing in mine eyes, have been thy going out and thy coming in with me, in the host, for I have found in thee no wrong, from the day of thy coming in unto me, until this day,––but, in the eyes of the lords, displeasing, thou art. 7 Now, therefore, return, and go in peace,––so shalt thou not do wrong in the eyes of the lords of the Philistines. 8 Then said David unto Achish––But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant, from the day that I came before thee, unto this day,––that I may not go in and fight, with the enemies of my lord the king. 9 Then answered Achish, and said unto David, I acknowledge that, pleasing, thou art in mine eyes, as a messenger of God,––notwithstanding, the princes of the Philistines, have said, He shall not go up with us, into the battle. 10 Now, therefore, rise up early in the morning, thou and the servants of thy lord who have come with thee,––yea, as soon as ye have risen early in the morning, and have light, then depart. 11 So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines,––but, the Philistines, went up to Jezreel.

BBE(i) 2 And the lords of the Philistines went on with their hundreds and their thousands, and David and his men came after with Achish. 3 Then the rulers of the Philistines said, What are these Hebrews doing here? And Achish said to the rulers of the Philistines, Is this not David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me for a year or two, and I have never seen any wrong in him from the time when he came to me till now? 4 But the rulers of the Philistines were angry with him, and said to him, Make the man go back to the place you have given him; do not let him go down with us to the fight, or he may be turned against us and be false to us: for how will this man make peace with his lord? will it not be with the heads of these men? 5 Is this not David, who was named in their songs, when in the dance they said to one another, Saul has put to death thousands, and David tens of thousands? 6 Then Achish sent for David and said to him, By the living Lord, you are upright, and everything you have done with me in the army has been pleasing to me: I have seen no evil in you from the day when you came to me till now: but still, the lords are not pleased with you. 7 So now go back, and go in peace, so that you do not make the lords of the Philistines angry. 8 And David said to Achish, But what have I done? what have you seen in your servant while I have been with you till this day, that I may not go and take up arms against those who are now making war on my lord the king? 9 And Achish in answer said, It is true that in my eyes you are good, like an angel of God: but still, the rulers of the Philistines have said, He is not to go up with us to the fight. 10 So get up early in the morning, with the servants of your lord who are with you, and go to the place I have given you, and have no evil design in your heart, for you are good in my eyes; but when there is light enough in the morning, go away. 11 So David and his men got up early in the morning to go back to the land of the Philistines. For I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me until today. But you are not good in the eyes of the lords. 7 And return now, and go in peace so that you do not displease the lords of the Philistines. 8 And David said to Achish, But what have I done? And what have you found in your servant so long as I have been with you to this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king? 9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that you are good in my sight, like an angel of God. But the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. 10 And now, rise up early in the morning with your master's servants who have come with you. And as soon as you have light, depart. 11 And David and his men rose up early to leave in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

What find you in your servant from the day I became at your face to this day; that I may not go fight against the enemies of my adoni the sovereign? 9 And Achish answers David and says, I know you are good in my eyes - as an angel of Elohim: except the governors of the Peleshethiy say, He ascends not with us to the war. 10 And now start early in the morning with the servants of your adoni who came with you: and as soon as you start early in the morning, and have light, go. 11 And David and his men start early to go in the morning, to return to the land of the Peleshethiy: and the Peleshethiy ascend to Yizre El.

6 H397 Then Achish H7121 called H1732 David, H559 and said H3068 unto him, Surely, as the Lord H2416 lives, H3477 you have been upright, H3318 and your going out H935 and your coming in H4264 with me in the army H2896 is good H5869 in my sight: H4672 for I have not found H7451 evil H3117 in you since the day H935 of your coming H3117 unto me unto this day: H5633 nevertheless the lords H2896 favor H5869 you not.
7 H7725 That is why now return, H3212 and go H7965 in peace, H7451 that you displease H5633 not the lords H6430 of the Philistines.
8 H1732 And David H559 said H397 unto Achish, H6213 But what have I done? H4672 and what have you found H5650 in your servant H3117 so long as H6440 I have been with you H3117 unto this day, H935 that I may not go H3898 fight H341 against the enemies H113 of my lord H4428 the king?
9 H397 And Achish H6030 answered H559 and said H1732 to David, H3045 I know H2896 that you are good H5869 in my sight, H4397 as an angel H430 of God: H8269 nevertheless the princes H6430 of the Philistines H559 have said, H5927 He shall not go up H4421 with us to the battle.
10 H7925 Therefore now rise up early H1242 in the morning H113 with your master's H5650 servants H935 that are come H7925 with you: and as soon as you are up early H1242 in the morning, H215 and have light, H3212 depart.
11 H1732 So David H582 and his men H7925 rose up early H3212 to depart H1242 in the morning, H7725 to return H776 into the land H6430 of the Philistines. H6430 And the Philistines H5927 went up H3157 to Jezreel.
EJ2000(i) 2 And as the cardinals of the Philistines reviewed their companies of hundreds and of thousands, David and his men were in the rear with Achish. 3 Then the princes of the Philistines said, What are these Hebrews doing here? And Achish replied unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the slave of Saul, the king of Israel, who has been with me these days or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day? 4 Then the princes of the Philistines were angry with him, and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him and not come with us to the battle lest in the battle he be an adversary to us, for with what should he return to the good graces of his master than with the heads of these men? 5 Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands and David his ten thousands? 6 ¶ Then Achish called David and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD lives, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the camp is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day; nevertheless, thou art not good in the eyes of the cardinals. 7 Therefore, now return and go in peace that thou not do evil in the eyes of the cardinals of the Philistines. 8 And David replied unto Achish, But what have I done? And what hast thou found in thy slave so long as I have been with thee unto this day that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king? 9 And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight as an angel of God; notwithstanding, the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle. 10 Therefore, now rise up early in the morning with thy master’s slaves that are come with thee, and as soon as ye are up early in the morning and it is light, depart. 11 So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
CAB(i) 2 And the lords of the Philistines went on by hundreds and thousands, and David and his men went on in the rear with Achish. 3 And the lords of the Philistines said, Who are these that pass by? And Achish said to the captains of the Philistines, Is not this David the servant of Saul king of Israel? He has been with us some time, even this second year, and I have not found any fault in him from the day that he attached himself to me, even until this day. 4 And the captains of the Philistines were displeased at him, and they said to him, Send the man away, and let him return to his place, which you have appointed for him; and let him not come with us to the war, and let him not be a traitor in the camp. And with what will he be reconciled to his master? Will it not be with the heads of those men? 5 Is not this David whom they celebrated in dances, saying, Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 6 And Achish called David and said to him, As the Lord lives, you are right and approved in my eyes, and so is your going out and your coming in with me in the army, and I have not found any evil to charge against you from the day that you came to me until this day. But you are not approved in the eyes of the lords. 7 Now then return and go in peace, thus you shall not do evil in the sight of the lords of the Philistines. 8 And David said to Achish, What have I done to you? And what have you found in your servant from the first day that I was before you, even until this day, that I should not come and war against the enemies of the lord my king? 9 And Achish answered David, I know that you are good in my eyes, but the lords of the Philistines say, He shall not come with us to the war. 10 Now then rise up early in the morning, you and the servants of your lord that have come with you, and go to the place where I appointed you, and entertain no evil thought in your heart, for you are good in my sight. And rise early for your journey when it is light, and depart. 11 So David arose early, he and his men, to depart and guard the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel to battle.
LXX2012(i) 2 And the lords of the Philistines went on by hundreds and thousands, and David and his men went on in the rear with Anchus. 3 And the lords of the Philistines said, Who [are] these that pass by? And Anchus said to the captains of the Philistines, [Is] not this David the servant of Saul king of Israel? He has been with us some time, even this second year, and I have not found any fault in him from the day that he attached himself to me even until this day. 4 And the captains of the Philistines were displeased at him, and they say to him, Send the man away, and let him return to his place, where you did set him; and let him not come with us to the war, and let him not be a traitor in the camp: and wherewith will he be reconciled to his master? Will it not be with the heads of those men? 5 [Is] not this David whom they celebrated in dances, saying, Saul has struck his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 6 And Anchus called David, and said to him, [As] the Lord lives, you [are] right and approved in my eyes, and [so is] your going out and your coming in with me in the army, and I have not found [any] evil to charge against you from the day that you came to me until this day: but you are not approved in the eyes of the lords. 7 Now then return and go in peace, thus you shall not do evil in the sight of the lords of the Philistines. 8 And David said to Anchus, What have I done to you? and what have you found in your servant from the [first] day that I was before you even until this day, that I should not come and war against the enemies of the lord my king? 9 And Anchus answered David, I know that you [are] good in my eyes, but the lords of the Philistines say, He shall not come with us to the war. 10 Now then rise up early in the morning, you and the servants of your lord that are come with you, and go to the place where I appointed you, and entertain no evil thought in your heart, for you [are] good in my sight: and rise early for your journey when it is light, and depart. 11 So David arose early, he and his men, to depart and guard the land of the Philistines: and the Philistines went up to Jezrael to battle.
NSB(i) 2 The five Philistine kings marched with units of a hundred and of a thousand men. David and his men marched in the rear with King Achish. 3 The Philistine commanders saw them and asked: »What are these Hebrews doing here?« Achish answered: »This is David. He is the man who ran away from King Saul of Israel. He has been with me for more than a year. He has done nothing I can find fault with since the day he came to me.« 4 The Philistine commanders were angry with Achish and said to him: »Send that fellow back to the town you gave him. Do not let him go into battle with us. He might turn against us during the fight. What better way is there for him to win back his master’s favor than by causing the death of our men? 5 »This is David, the one about whom the women sang, as they danced: Saul has killed thousands, but David has killed tens of thousands.« 6 Achish called David and said: »I swear by the living God of Israel that you have been loyal to me. I would be pleased to have you go with me and fight in this battle. I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me. But the other kings do not approve of you. 7 »Go home in peace. Do not do anything that would displease them.« 8 David answered: »What have I done wrong? As you say, you have not found any fault in me since the day I started serving you. Why should I not go with you, my master and king, and fight your enemies?« 9 »I agree,« Achish replied. »I consider you as loyal as an angel of God. But the other kings say you may not go with us into battle. 10 »Tomorrow morning all of you who left Saul and came over to me must get up early and leave at first light.« 11 David and his men started out early the following morning. They went back to Philistia. The Philistines went on to Jezreel.
ISV(i) 2 The Philistine leaders were passing in review among the military units, and David and his men were among them in the rear with Achish.
3 The Philistine leaders said, “What are these Hebrews doing here?”
Achish asked the Philistine leaders, “Isn’t this David, the servant of King Saul of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years? I’ve found no fault in him from the day he deserted until now.”
4 But the Philistine leaders were angry with him, so they pleaded with him, “Send the man back! Let him return to the place you assigned him. He mustn’t go into battle with us. Otherwise, he may become our adversary in the battle! How could there be a better way for this fellow to reconcile himself with his lord? Wouldn’t it be with the heads of these men? 5 Isn’t this the same David about whom the maidens sang when they were dancing, ‘Saul has struck down his thousands, but David his ten thousands’?”
6 Achish Sends David HomeThen Achish summoned David and told him, “As surely as the LORD lives, you are trustworthy, and it seems good to me for you to campaign with me as part of the army. Indeed, I’ve not found any evil in you from the time you came to me until now. But the leaders don’t approve of you. 7 Now return and go in peace, so you do nothing to displease the Philistine leaders.”
8 David told Achish, “What have I done, and what have you found in your servant from the time I came before you until this very moment, that I shouldn’t go out and fight the enemies of your majesty?”
9 Achish answered David, “I know that I’m pleased with you. You’re like an angel of God. But the Philistine leaders have said, ‘He mustn’t go into battle with us.’ 10 Now, get up early in the morning along with your lord’s servants who came with you. Get up early in the morning, and go as soon as you have light.” 11 So David and his men got up early in the morning to return to Philistine territory, while the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
LEB(i) 2 The rulers of the Philistines were passing on according to hundreds and thousands, David and his men passing on at the rear with Achish. 3 Then the commanders of the Philistines said, "What are these Hebrews doing here?" And Achish said to the commanders of the Philistines, "Is this not David, the servant of Saul, the king of Israel, who has been with me for days and years?* I have not found anything threatening in him from the day of his desertion until this day!" 4 But the commanders of the Philistines were angry with him and they said to him, "Send the man back so that he might return to his place where you have assigned him! But he will not go down with us into the battle, so that he does not become an adversary to us in the battle. By what could this fellow make himself favorable to his lord? Is it not with the heads of these men? 5 Is this not David about whom they sing in the dances, saying,
'Saul has killed his thousands, but David his ten thousands'?" 6 So Achish called David and said to him, "As Yahweh lives,* certainly you were honest, and I am pleased to have you marching with me* in the campaign.* For I have not found any wrong in you from the day you came to me until this day, but in the eyes of the rulers, you are not good. 7 So then, return and go in peace, so that you do not do something that displeases* the rulers of the Philistines." 8 Then David said to Achish, "But what have I done? And what have you found in your servant from the day that I entered your service* until this day, that I should not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?" 9 And Achish answered and said to David, "I know that you are good in my eyes, like an angel of God! However, the commanders of the Philistines have said, 'He must not go up with us into the battle.' 10 So then, rise early in the morning, you and the servants of your lord who came with you. When you rise early in the morning and it is light enough for you, leave. 11 So David set out early, he and his men, to leave in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines, but the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
BSB(i) 2 As the Philistine leaders marched out their units of hundreds and thousands, David and his men marched behind them with Achish. 3 Then the commanders of the Philistines asked, “What about these Hebrews?” Achish replied, “Is this not David, the servant of King Saul of Israel? He must not go down with us into battle only to become our adversary during the war. What better way for him to regain the favor of his master than with the heads of our men? 5 Is this not the David about whom they sing in their dances: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands’?” 6 So Achish summoned David and told him, “As surely as the LORD lives, you have been upright in my sight, and it seems right that you should march in and out with me in the army, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until this day. But you have no favor in the sight of the leaders. 7 Therefore turn back now and go in peace, so that you will not do anything to displease the leaders of the Philistines.” 8 “But what have I done?” David replied. “What have you found against your servant, from the day I came to you until today, to keep me from going along to fight against the enemies of my lord the king?” 9 Achish replied, “I know that you are as pleasing in my sight as an angel of God. But the commanders of the Philistines have said, ‘He must not go into battle with us.’ 10 Now then, get up early in the morning, along with your master’s servants who came with you, and go as soon as it is light.” 11 So David and his men got up early in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines. MLV(i) 2 And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds and by thousands and David and his men passed on in the rearward with Achish.

10 Therefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord who have come with you and as soon as you* are up early in the morning and have light, depart.
11 So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

8 Y David respondió a Aquis: ¿Qué he hecho?

10 Nyní tedy vstaň tím raněji a služebníci pána tvého, kteříž přišli s tebou, a vstanouce tím spíše ráno, hned jakž by zasvitávalo, odejděte. 11 I vstal David, on i muži jeho, aby odšel tím raněji, a navrátil se do země Filistinské. Filistinští pak táhli do Jezreel.

Haitian(i) 2 Senk chèf moun Filisti yo te pran devan, yo t'ap mache yonn dèyè lòt ak divizyon lame yo. Yo te gen batayon san sòlda ak rejiman mil sòlda. David t'ap mache dèyè nèt avèk mesye l' yo ansanm ak Akich. 3 Lòt chèf moun Filisti yo di konsa: -Sa bann ebre sa yo ap fè la a? Akich reponn yo: -Se David, yonn nan mesye ki t'ap sèvi ak Sayil, wa pèp Izrayèl la. Li gen kèk tan depi li avè m'. Depi jou li kite wa pèp Izrayèl la pou li vin jwenn mwen, mwen pa janm jwenn anyen pou m' repwoche l' jouk jounen jòdi a. 4 Men, lòt chèf moun Filisti yo move sou Akich, yo di l' konsa: -Voye nonm sa a ale. Fè l' tounen nan lavil ou te ba li pou l' rete a. Pa kite l' al goumen avèk nou pou pandan batay la li pa vire sou do nou. Sa ka ba l' yon bèl okazyon pou l' touye moun nou yo, epi pou l' byen ankò ak mèt li. 5 Lèfini, fòk nou pa bliye, se David wi. Se pou li medam yo te fè chante sa a lè yo t'ap danse a. Chante a te pati konsa: Sayil desann mil. David desann dimil. 6 Akich rele David, li di l' konsa: -Mwen pran Seyè ki vivan an pou temwen, ou se yon nèg serye, ou toujou kenbe pawòl ou avè m'. Se ta tout plezi m' pou m' ta toujou wè ou la avè m' nan tout antre soti m' nan batay la. Paske, depi jou ou te vin jwenn mwen an rive jòdi a, mwen pa janm jwenn anyen ou fè ki mal. Men, mesye chèf yo pa fè ou konfyans. 7 Konsa, tounen al lakay ou ak kè poze. 8 David reponn li: -Men, mèt mwen, kisa m' fè? Depi premye jou mwen prezante lakay ou pou m' sèvi ou rive jòdi a, ou pa janm jwenn anyen mwen fè ki mal. Poukisa ou pa vle mwen vin goumen bò kote ou, monwa, mèt mwen, kont lènmi ou yo? 9 Akich reponn David: -Ou pa bezwen di m' anyen! Pou mwen, ou bon tankou yon zanj Bondye. Men, sa ou vle m' fè? Lòt chèf yo di ou pa pral avèk nou nan batay la. 10 Koulye a, David, denmen maten, ou pral leve bonè bonè, ansanm ak tout mesye ki te vire do bay Sayil, mèt ou a, pou yo te vin avè ou bò isit la vin jwenn mwen. Kou bajou kase n'a pati al fè wout nou. 11 Konsa vre, nan denmen maten, bonè bonè David leve ansanm ak tout mesye l' yo, yo pati, yo tounen nan peyi Filisti a. Lame moun Filisti yo menm pran chemen pou yo ale Jizreyèl.

E i Filistei salirono in Izreel.

E i Filistei salirono a Izreel.

PBG(i) 2 A książęta Filistyńskie ciągnęli stami i tysiącami, a Dawid i mężowie jego ciągnęli pozad z Achisem. 3 I rzekły książęta Filistyńskie: Cóż tu czynią ci Hebrejczycy?
