Ezekiel 20:1-32 And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and sat before me.

1 H7637 And it came to pass in the seventh H8141 year, H2549 in the fifth H6218 month, the tenth H2320 day of the month, H582 that certain H2205 of the elders H3478 of Israel H935 came H1875 to inquire H3068 of the Lord, H3427 and sat H6440 before me.

2 H1697 Then came the word H3068 of the Lord H559 unto me, saying,

3 H1121 Son H120 of man, H1696 speak H2205 unto the elders H3478 of Israel, H559 and say H559 unto them, Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 God; H935 Are you come H1875 to inquire H2416 of me? As I live, H5002 says H136 the Lord H3069 God, H1875 I will not be inquired of by you.

4 H8199 Will you judge H1121 them, son H120 of man, H8199 will you judge H3045 them? cause them to know H8441 the abominations H1 of their fathers:

5 H559 And say H559 unto them, Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 God; H3117 In the day H977 when I chose H3478 Israel, H5375 and lifted up H3027 my hand H2233 unto the seed H1004 of the house H3290 of Jacob, H3045 and made myself known H776 unto them in the land H4714 of Egypt, H5375 when I lifted H3027 up my hand H559 unto them, saying, H3068 I am the Lord H430 your God;

6 H3117 In the day H5375 that I lifted up H3027 my hand H3318 unto them, to bring them forth H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt H776 into a land H8446 that I had saw H2100 for them, flowing H2461 with milk H1706 and honey, H6643 which is the glory H776 of all lands:

7 H559 Then said H7993 I unto them, Cast you away H376 every man H8251 the abominations H5869 of his eyes, H2930 and defile H1544 not yourselves with the idols H4714 of Egypt: H3068 I am the Lord H430 your God.

8 H4784 But they rebelled H14 against me, and would H8085 not listen H376 unto me: they did not every man H7993 cast away H8251 the abominations H5869 of their eyes, H5800 neither did they forsake H1544 the idols H4714 of Egypt: H559 then I said, H8210 I will pour out H2534 my fury H3615 upon them, to accomplish H639 my anger H8432 against them in the midst H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt.

9 H6213 But I done H8034 for my name's H2490 sake, that it should not be polluted H5869 before H1471 the heathen, H8432 among H5869 whom they were, in whose sight H3045 I made myself known H3318 unto them, in bringing them forth H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt.

10 H3318 Therefore I caused them to go forth H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt, H935 and brought H4057 them into the wilderness.

11 H5414 And I gave H2708 them my statutes, H3045 and showed H4941 them my judgments, H120 which if a man H6213 do, H2425 he shall even live in them.

12 H5414 Moreover also I gave H7676 them my sabbaths, H226 to be a sign H3045 between me and them, that they might know H3068 that I am the Lord H6942 that sanctify them.

13 H1004 But the house H3478 of Israel H4784 rebelled H4057 against me in the wilderness: H1980 they walked H2708 not in my statutes, H3988 and they despised H4941 my judgments, H120 which if a man H6213 do, H2425 he shall even live H7676 in them; and my sabbaths H3966 they greatly H2490 polluted: H559 then I said, H8210 I would pour out H2534 my fury H4057 upon them in the wilderness, H3615 to consume them.

14 H6213 But I done H8034 for my name's H2490 sake, that it should not be polluted H5869 before H1471 the heathen, H5869 in whose sight H3318 I brought them out.

15 H5375 Yet also I lifted up H3027 my hand H4057 unto them in the wilderness, H935 that I would not bring H776 them into the land H5414 which I had given H2100 them, flowing H2461 with milk H1706 and honey, H6643 which is the glory H776 of all lands;

16 H3988 Because they despised H4941 my judgments, H1980 and walked H2708 not in my statutes, H2490 but polluted H7676 my sabbaths: H3820 for their heart H1980 went H310 after H1544 their idols.

17 H5869 Nevertheless my eye H2347 spared H7843 them from destroying H6213 them, neither did I make H3617 a end H4057 of them in the wilderness.

18 H559 But I said H1121 unto their sons H4057 in the wilderness, H3212 Walk H2706 you not in the statutes H1 of your fathers, H8104 neither observe H4941 their judgments, H2930 nor defile H1544 yourselves with their idols:

19 H3068 I am the Lord H430 your God; H3212 walk H2708 in my statutes, H8104 and keep H4941 my judgments, H6213 and do them;

20 H6942 And hallow H7676 my sabbaths; H226 and they shall be a sign H3045 between me and you, that you may know H3068 that I am the Lord H430 your God.

21 H1121 Nevertheless the sons H4784 rebelled H1980 against me: they walked H2708 not in my statutes, H8104 neither kept H4941 my judgments H6213 to do H120 them, which if a man H6213 do, H2425 he shall even live H2490 in them; they polluted H7676 my sabbaths: H559 then I said, H8210 I would pour out H2534 my fury H3615 upon them, to accomplish H639 my anger H4057 against them in the wilderness.

22 H7725 Nevertheless I withdrew H3027 my hand, H6213 and done H8034 for my name's H2490 sake, that it should not be polluted H5869 in the sight H1471 of the heathen, H5869 in whose sight H3318 I brought them forth.

23 H5375 I lifted up H3027 my hand H4057 unto them also in the wilderness, H6327 that I would scatter H1471 them among the heathen, H2219 and disperse H776 them through the countries;

24 H6213 Because they had not executed H4941 my judgments, H3988 but had despised H2708 my statutes, H2490 and had polluted H7676 my sabbaths, H5869 and their eyes H310 were after H1 their fathers' H1544 idols.

25 H5414 Therefore I gave H2706 them also statutes H2896 that were not good, H4941 and judgments H2421 by which they should not live;

26 H2930 And I polluted H4979 them in their own gifts, H5674 in that they caused to pass through H6363 the fire all that opens H7356 the womb, H8074 that I might make them desolate, H3045 to the end that they might know H3068 that I am the Lord.

27 H1121 Therefore, son H120 of man, H1696 speak H1004 unto the house H3478 of Israel, H559 and say H559 unto them, Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 God; H1 Yet in this your fathers H1442 have blasphemed H4603 me, in that they have committed H4604 a trespass against me.

28 H935 For when I had brought H776 them into the land, H5375 for the which I lifted up H3027 my hand H5414 to give H7200 it to them, then they saw H7311 every high H1389 hill, H5687 and all the thick H6086 trees, H2076 and they offered H2077 there their sacrifices, H5414 and there they presented H3708 the provocation H7133 of their offering: H7760 there also they made H5207 their sweet H7381 smell, H5258 and poured out H5262 there their drink offerings.

29 H559 Then I said H1116 unto them, What is the high place H935 unto what you go? H8034 And the name H7121 there is called H1117 Bamah H3117 unto this day.

30 H559 Therefore say H1004 unto the house H3478 of Israel, H559 Thus says H136 the Lord H3069 God; H2930 Are you polluted H1870 after the manner H1 of your fathers? H2181 and commit you whoredom H310 after H8251 their abominations?

31 H5375 For when you offer H4979 your gifts, H1121 when you make your sons H5674 to pass through H784 the fire, H2930 you pollute H1544 yourselves with all your idols, H3117 even unto this day: H1875 and shall I be inquired H1004 of by you, O house H3478 of Israel? H2416 As I live, H5002 says H136 the Lord H3069 God, H1875 I will not be inquired of by you.

32 H5927 And that which comes H7307 into your mind H559 shall not be at all, that you say, H1961 We will be H1471 as the heathen, H4940 as the families H776 of the countries, H8334 to serve H6086 wood H68 and stone.
