Genesis 24:2-14 ויאמר said אברהם And Abraham אל unto עבדו servant זקן his eldest ביתו of his house, המשׁל that ruled בכל over all אשׁר that לו שׂים he had, Put, נא I pray thee, ידך thy hand תחת under ירכי׃ my thigh:

3 H7650 ואשׁביעך And I will make thee swear H3068 ביהוה by the LORD, H430 אלהי the God H8064 השׁמים of heaven, H430 ואלהי and the God H776 הארץ of the earth, H834 אשׁר that H3808 לא thou shalt not H3947 תקח take H802 אשׁה a wife H1121 לבני unto my son H1323 מבנות of the daughters H3669 הכנעני of the Canaanites, H834 אשׁר whom H595 אנכי I H3427 יושׁב dwell: H7130 בקרבו׃ among

4 H3588 כי But H413 אל unto H776 ארצי my country, H413 ואל and to H4138 מולדתי my kindred, H1980 תלך thou shalt go H3947 ולקחת and take H802 אשׁה a wife H1121 לבני unto my son H3327 ליצחק׃ Isaac.

5 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H5650 העבד And the servant H194 אולי him, Peradventure H3808 לא will not H14 תאבה be willing H802 האשׁה the woman H1980 ללכת to follow H310 אחרי to follow H413 אל me unto H776 הארץ land: H2063 הזאת this H7725 ההשׁב H7725 אשׁיב H853 את H1121 בנך thy son H413 אל again unto H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר from whence H3318 יצאת thou camest? H8033 משׁם׃

6 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H85 אברהם And Abraham H8104 השׁמר him, Beware H6435 לך פן thou that H7725 תשׁיב thou bring H853 את H1121 בני not my son H8033 שׁמה׃ thither

7 H3068 יהוה The LORD H430 אלהי God H8064 השׁמים of heaven, H834 אשׁר which H3947 לקחני took H1004 מבית H1 אבי H776 ומארץ and from the land H4138 מולדתי of my kindred, H834 ואשׁר and which H1696 דבר spoke H834 לי ואשׁר unto me, and that H7650 נשׁבע swore H559 לי לאמר unto me, saying, H2233 לזרעך Unto thy seed H5414 אתן will I give H853 את H776 הארץ land; H2063 הזאת this H1931 הוא he H7971 ישׁלח shall send H4397 מלאכו his angel H6440 לפניך before H3947 ולקחת thee, and thou shalt take H802 אשׁה a wife H1121 לבני unto my son H8033 משׁם׃ from thence.

8 H518 ואם And if H3808 לא will not H14 תאבה be willing H802 האשׁה the woman H1980 ללכת to follow H310 אחריך to follow H5352 ונקית thee, then thou shalt be clear H7621 משׁבעתי H2063 זאת H7535 רק only H853 את H1121 בני my son H3808 לא not H7725 תשׁב bring H8033 שׁמה׃ thither

9 H7760 וישׂם put H5650 העבד And the servant H853 את H3027 ידו his hand H8478 תחת under H3409 ירך the thigh H85 אברהם of Abraham H113 אדניו his master, H7650 וישׁבע and swore H5921 לו על to him concerning H1697 הדבר matter. H2088 הזה׃ that

10 H3947 ויקח took H5650 העבד And the servant H6235 עשׂרה ten H1581 גמלים camels H1581 מגמלי of the camels H113 אדניו of his master, H1980 וילך and departed; H3605 וכל for all H2898 טוב the goods H113 אדניו of his master H3027 בידו in his hand: H6965 ויקם and he arose, H1980 וילך and went H413 אל to H763 ארם נהרים Mesopotamia, H413 אל unto H5892 עיר the city H5152 נחור׃ of Nahor.

11 H1288 ויברך to kneel down H1581 הגמלים And he made his camels H2351 מחוץ without H5892 לעיר the city H413 אל by H875 באר a well H4325 המים of water H6256 לעת at the time H6153 ערב of the evening, H6256 לעת the time H3318 צאת that women go out H7579 השׁאבת׃ to draw

12 H559 ויאמר And he said, H3068 יהוה O LORD H430 אלהי God H113 אדני of my master H85 אברהם Abraham, H7136 הקרה send me good speed H4994 נא I pray thee, H6440 לפני send me good speed H3117 היום this day, H6213 ועשׂה and show H2617 חסד kindness H5973 עם unto H113 אדני my master H85 אברהם׃ Abraham.

13 H2009 הנה Behold, H595 אנכי I H5324 נצב stand H5921 על by H5869 עין the well H4325 המים of water; H1323 ובנות and the daughters H376 אנשׁי of the men H5892 העיר of the city H3318 יצאת come out H7579 לשׁאב to draw H4325 מים׃ water:

14 H1961 והיה And let it come to pass, H5291 הנער that the damsel H834 אשׁר to whom H559 אמר and she shall say, H413 אליה H5186 הטי Let down H4994 נא I pray thee, H3537 כדך thy pitcher, H8354 ואשׁתה that I may drink; H559 ואמרה H8354 שׁתה Drink, H1571 וגם also: H1581 גמליך and I will give thy camels H8248 אשׁקה drink H853 אתה H3198 הכחת she thou hast appointed H5650 לעבדך for thy servant H3327 ליצחק Isaac; H3045 ובה אדע and thereby shall I know H3588 כי that H6213 עשׂית thou hast showed H2617 חסד kindness H5973 עם unto H113 אדני׃ my master.
