Jeremiah 32 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.

1 H1697 The word H1961 that came H3414 to Jeremiah H3068 from the LORD H6224 in the tenth H8141 year H6667 of Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah, H1958 which H6240 was the eighteenth H8141 year H5019 of Nebuchadrezzar.

2 H227 For then H4428 the king H894 of Babylon’s H2428 army H6696 besieged H3389 Jerusalem: H3414 and Jeremiah H5030 the prophet H3607 was shut H2691 up in the court H4307 of the prison, H834 which H4428 was in the king H3063 of Judah’s H1004 house.

3 H6667 For Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H3607 had shut H559 him up, saying, H4069 Why H5012 do you prophesy, H559 and say, H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD, H2005 Behold, H5414 I will give H2063 this H5892 city H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon, H3920 and he shall take it;

4 H6667 And Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H4422 shall not escape H3027 out of the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H5414 but shall surely be delivered H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon, H1696 and shall speak H6310 with him mouth H6310 to mouth, H5869 and his eyes H7200 shall behold H5869 his eyes;

5 H3212 And he shall lead H6667 Zedekiah H894 to Babylon, H8033 and there H5704 shall he be until H6485 I visit H5002 him, said H3068 the LORD: H3588 though H3898 you fight H3778 with the Chaldeans, H6743 you shall not prosper.

6 H3414 And Jeremiah H559 said, H1697 The word H3068 of the LORD H1961 came H559 to me, saying,

7 H2009 Behold, H2601 Hanameel H1121 the son H7967 of Shallum H1730 your uncle H935 shall come H559 to you saying, H7069 Buy H7704 you my field H6068 that is in Anathoth: H4941 for the right H1353 of redemption H7069 is your to buy it.

8 H2601 So Hanameel H1733 my uncle’s H1121 son H935 came H2691 to me in the court H4307 of the prison H1697 according to the word H3068 of the LORD, H559 and said H7069 to me, Buy H7704 my field, H4994 I pray H6068 you, that is in Anathoth, H834 which H776 is in the country H1144 of Benjamin: H4941 for the right H3425 of inheritance H1353 is yours, and the redemption H7069 is yours; buy H3045 it for yourself. Then I knew H1931 that this H1697 was the word H3068 of the LORD.

9 H7069 And I bought H7704 the field H2601 of Hanameel H1733 my uncle’s H1121 son, H6068 that was in Anathoth, H8254 and weighed H3701 him the money, H7651 even seventeen H6240 H8255 shekels H3701 of silver.

10 H3789 And I subscribed H5612 the evidence, H2856 and sealed H5707 it, and took witnesses, H8254 and weighed H3701 him the money H3976 in the balances.

11 H3947 So I took H5612 the evidence H4736 of the purchase, H2856 both that which was sealed H4687 according to the law H2706 and custom, H1540 and that which was open:

12 H5414 And I gave H5612 the evidence H4736 of the purchase H1263 to Baruch H1121 the son H5374 of Neriah, H1121 the son H4271 of Maaseiah, H5869 in the sight H2601 of Hanameel H1733 my uncle’s H5869 son, and in the presence H5707 of the witnesses H3789 that subscribed H5612 the book H4736 of the purchase, H5869 before H3605 all H3064 the Jews H3427 that sat H2691 in the court H4307 of the prison.

13 H6680 And I charged H1263 Baruch H5869 before H559 them, saying,

14 H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H3947 Take H428 these H5612 evidences, H2088 this H5612 evidence H4736 of the purchase, H2856 both which is sealed, H2088 and this H5612 evidence H1540 which is open; H5414 and put H2789 them in an earthen H3627 vessel, H5975 that they may continue H7227 many H3117 days.

15 H3541 For thus H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H1004 Houses H7704 and fields H3754 and vineyards H7069 shall be possessed H5750 again H2063 in this H776 land.

16 H5414 Now when I had delivered H5612 the evidence H4736 of the purchase H1263 to Baruch H1121 the son H5374 of Neriah, H6419 I prayed H3068 to the LORD, H559 saying,

17 H162 Ah H136 Lord H3069 GOD! H2009 behold, H6213 you have made H8064 the heaven H776 and the earth H1419 by your great H3581 power H5186 and stretched H2220 out arm, H3808 and there is nothing H1697 H6381 too hard for you:

18 H6213 You show H2617 loving kindness H505 to thousands, H7999 and recompense H5771 the iniquity H1 of the fathers H413 into H2436 the bosom H1121 of their children H310 after H1419 them: the Great, H1368 the Mighty H410 God, H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H8034 is his name,

19 H1419 Great H6098 in counsel, H7227 and mighty H5950 in work: H5869 for your eyes H6491 are open H3605 on all H1870 the ways H1121 of the sons H120 of men: H5414 to give H376 every H376 one H1870 according to his ways, H6529 and according to the fruit H4611 of his doings:

20 H834 Which H7760 have set H226 signs H4159 and wonders H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H2088 even to this H3119 day, H3478 and in Israel, H120 and among other men; H6213 and have made H8034 you a name, H5704 as at H2088 this H3119 day;

21 H3318 And have brought H3318 forth H5971 your people H3478 Israel H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt H226 with signs, H4159 and with wonders, H2389 and with a strong H3027 hand, H5186 and with a stretched H248 out arm, H1419 and with great H4172 terror;

22 H5414 And have given H2063 them this H776 land, H834 which H7650 you did swear H1 to their fathers H5414 to give H776 them, a land H2100 flowing H2461 with milk H1706 and honey;

23 H935 And they came H3423 in, and possessed H8085 it; but they obeyed H6963 not your voice, H3808 neither H1980 walked H8451 in your law; H6213 they have done H3808 nothing H3605 of all H6680 that you commanded H6213 them to do: H3605 therefore you have caused all H2063 this H7451 evil H7122 to come on them:

24 H2009 Behold H5550 the mounts, H935 they are come H5892 to the city H3920 to take H5892 it; and the city H5414 is given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H3898 that fight H5921 against H6440 it, because H2719 of the sword, H7458 and of the famine, H1698 and of the pestilence: H834 and what H1696 you have spoken H1961 is come H2009 to pass; and, behold, H7200 you see it.

25 H559 And you have said H136 to me, O Lord H3069 GOD, H7069 Buy H7704 you the field H3701 for money, H5749 and take H5707 witnesses; H5892 for the city H5414 is given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans.

26 H1961 Then came H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD H3414 to Jeremiah, H559 saying,

27 H2009 Behold, H3068 I am the LORD, H430 the God H3605 of all H1320 flesh: H3605 is there any H1697 thing H6381 too hard for me?

28 H5921 Therefore H3651 H3541 thus H559 said H3068 the LORD; H2005 Behold, H5414 I will give H2063 this H5892 city H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H3027 and into the hand H5019 of Nebuchadrezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon, H3920 and he shall take it:

29 H3778 And the Chaldeans, H3898 that fight H5921 against H2063 this H5892 city, H935 shall come H784 and set fire H2063 on this H5892 city, H8313 and burn H1004 it with the houses, H834 on whose H1406 roofs H6999 they have offered H6999 incense H1168 to Baal, H5258 and poured H5262 out drink H312 offerings to other H430 gods, H3707 to provoke me to anger.

30 H1121 For the children H3478 of Israel H1121 and the children H3063 of Judah H389 have only H6213 done H7451 evil H5869 before H5271 me from their youth: H1121 for the children H3478 of Israel H389 have only H3707 provoked me to anger H4639 with the work H3027 of their hands, H5002 said H3068 the LORD.

31 H2063 For this H5892 city H639 has been to me as a provocation of my anger H2534 and of my fury H3119 from the day H1129 that they built H2088 it even to this H3119 day; H5493 that I should remove H5921 it from before H6440 my face,

32 H5921 Because H3605 of all H7451 the evil H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H1121 and of the children H3063 of Judah, H834 which H6213 they have done H3707 to provoke me to anger, H4428 they, their kings, H8269 their princes, H3548 their priests, H5030 and their prophets, H376 and the men H3063 of Judah, H3427 and the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem.

33 H6437 And they have turned H6203 to me the back, H6440 and not the face: H3925 though I taught H7925 them, rising H7925 up early H3925 and teaching H8085 them, yet they have not listened H3947 to receive H4148 instruction.

34 H7760 But they set H8251 their abominations H1004 in the house, H834 which H7121 is called H8034 by my name, H2930 to defile it.

35 H1129 And they built H1116 the high H1168 places of Baal, H834 which H1516 are in the valley H1121 of the son H2011 of Hinnom, H4616 to cause H1121 their sons H1323 and their daughters H5674 to pass H4432 through the fire to Molech; H834 which H6680 I commanded H3808 them not, neither H5927 came H5921 it into H3820 my mind, H6213 that they should do H2063 this H8441 abomination, H3063 to cause Judah H2398 to sin.

36 H6258 And now H3651 therefore H3541 thus H559 said H3068 the LORD, H430 the God H3478 of Israel, H413 concerning H2063 this H5892 city, H834 whereof H559 you say, H5414 It shall be delivered H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon H2719 by the sword, H7458 and by the famine, H1698 and by the pestilence;

37 H2005 Behold, H6908 I will gather H3605 them out of all H776 countries, H834 where H8033 H5080 I have driven H639 them in my anger, H2534 and in my fury, H1419 and in great H7110 wrath; H7725 and I will bring H7725 them again H2088 to this H4725 place, H3427 and I will cause them to dwell H983 safely:

38 H5971 And they shall be my people, H430 and I will be their God:

39 H5414 And I will give H259 them one H3820 heart, H259 and one H1870 way, H3372 that they may fear H3605 me for ever, H3117 H2896 for the good H1121 of them, and of their children H310 after them:

40 H3772 And I will make H5769 an everlasting H1285 covenant H7725 with them, that I will not turn H3190 away from them, to do them good; H5414 but I will put H3374 my fear H3824 in their hearts, H5493 that they shall not depart from me.

41 H7797 Yes, I will rejoice H5921 over H2895 them to do them good, H5193 and I will plant H2063 them in this H776 land H571 assuredly H3605 with my whole H3820 heart H3605 and with my whole H5315 soul.

42 H3541 For thus H559 said H3068 the LORD; H935 Like as I have brought H3605 all H2063 this H1419 great H7451 evil H2088 on this H5971 people, H3651 so H935 will I bring H3605 on them all H2896 the good H1696 that I have promised them.

43 H7704 And fields H7069 shall be bought H2063 in this H776 land, H834 whereof H559 you say, H8077 It is desolate H369 without H120 man H929 or beast; H5414 it is given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans.

44 H7069 Men shall buy H7704 fields H3701 for money, H3789 and subscribe H5612 evidences, H2856 and seal H5749 them, and take H5707 witnesses H776 in the land H1144 of Benjamin, H5439 and in the places about H3389 Jerusalem, H5892 and in the cities H3063 of Judah, H5892 and in the cities H2022 of the mountains, H5892 and in the cities H8219 of the valley, H5892 and in the cities H5045 of the south: H7622 for I will cause their captivity H7725 to return, H5002 said H3068 the LORD.
