Exodus 16 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

1 H5265 And they took their journey H362 from Elim, H5712 and all the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H935 came H4057 unto the wilderness H5512 of Sin, H362 which is between Elim H5514 and Sinai, H2568 on the fifteenth H3117 day H8145 of the second H2320 month H3318 after their departing out H776 of the land H4714 of Egypt.

2 H5712 And the whole congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H3885 murmured H4872 against Moses H175 and against Aaron H4057 in the wilderness:

3 H1121 and the children H3478 of Israel H559 said H4310 unto them, Would H4191 that we had died H3027 by the hand H3068 of Jehovah H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt, H3427 when we sat H1320 by the H5518 flesh-pots, H398 when we did eat H3899 bread H7648 to the full; H3318 for ye have brought us forth H4057 into this wilderness, H4191 to kill H6951 this whole assembly H7458 with hunger.

4 H559 Then said H3068 Jehovah H4872 unto Moses, H4305 Behold, I will rain H3899 bread H8064 from heaven H5971 for you; and the people H3318 shall go out H3950 and gather H1697 a day's portion H3117 every day, H5254 that I may prove H3212 them, whether they will walk H8451 in my law, or not.

5 H8345 And it shall come to pass on the sixth H3117 day, H3559 that they shall prepare H834 that which H935 they bring in, H4932 and it shall be twice H3950 as much as they gather H3117 daily.

6 H4872 And Moses H175 and Aaron H559 said H1121 unto all the children H3478 of Israel, H6153 At even, H3045 then ye shall know H3068 that Jehovah H3318 hath brought you out H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt;

7 H1242 and in the morning, H7200 then ye shall see H3519 the glory H3068 of Jehovah; H8085 for that he heareth H8519 your murmurings H3068 against Jehovah: H5168 and what are we, H3885 that ye murmur against us?

8 H4872 And Moses H559 said, H3068 This shall be, when Jehovah H5414 shall give H6153 you in the evening H1320 flesh H398 to eat, H1242 and in the morning H3899 bread H7646 to the full; H3068 for that Jehovah H8085 heareth H8519 your murmurings H3885 which ye murmur H5168 against him: and what are we? H8519 your murmurings H3068 are not against us, but against Jehovah.

9 H4872 And Moses H559 said H175 unto Aaron, H559 Say H5712 unto all the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H7126 Come near H6440 before H3068 Jehovah; H8085 for he hath heard H8519 your murmurings.

10 H175 And it came to pass, as Aaron H1696 spake H5712 unto the whole congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H6437 that they looked H4057 toward the wilderness, H3519 and, behold, the glory H3068 of Jehovah H7200 appeared H6051 in the cloud.

11 H3068 And Jehovah H1696 spake H4872 unto Moses, H559 saying,

12 H8085 I have heard H8519 the murmurings H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel: H1696 speak H559 unto them, saying, H996 At even H398 ye shall eat H1320 flesh, H1242 and in the morning H7646 ye shall be filled H3899 with bread; H3045 and ye shall know H3068 that I am Jehovah H430 your God.

13 H6153 And it came to pass at even, H7958 that the quails H5927 came up, H3680 and covered H4264 the camp: H1242 and in the morning H2919 the dew H7902 lay H5439 round about H4264 the camp.

14 H2919 And when the dew H7902 that lay H5927 was gone up, H6440 behold, upon the face H4057 of the wilderness H1851 a small H2636 round thing, H1851 small H3713 as the hoar-frost H776 on the ground.

15 H1121 And when the children H3478 of Israel H7200 saw H559 it, they said H376 one H251 to another, H4478 What is it? H3045 for they knew H4872 not what it was. And Moses H559 said H3899 unto them, It is the bread H3068 which Jehovah H5414 hath given H402 you to eat.

16 H1697 This is the thing H834 which H3068 Jehovah H6680 hath commanded. H3950 Gather H376 ye of it every man H6310 according H400 to his eating; H6016 an omer H1538 a head, H4557 according to the number H5315 of your persons, H3947 shall ye take H376 it, every man H168 for them that are in his tent.

17 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H6213 did H3950 so, and gathered H7235 some more, H4591 some less.

18 H4058 And when they measured H6016 it with an omer, H7235 he that gathered much H5736 had nothing over, H4591 and he that gathered little H2637 had no lack; H3950 they gathered H376 every man H6310 according H400 to his eating.

19 H4872 And Moses H559 said H376 unto them, Let no man H3498 leave H1242 of it till the morning.

20 H8085 Notwithstanding they hearkened H4872 not unto Moses; H582 but some H3498 of them left H1242 of it until the morning, H7311 and it bred H8438 worms, H887 and became foul: H4872 and Moses H7107 was wroth with them.

21 H3950 And they gathered H1242 it morning by morning, H376 every man H6310 according H400 to his eating: H8121 and when the sun H2552 waxed hot, H4549 it melted.

22 H8345 And it came to pass, that on the sixth H3117 day H3950 they gathered H4932 twice H3899 as much bread, H8147 two H6016 omers H259 for each one: H5387 and all the rulers H5712 of the congregation H935 came H5046 and told H4872 Moses.

23 H559 And he said H3068 unto them, This is that which Jehovah H1696 hath spoken, H4279 To-morrow H7677 is a solemn rest, H6944 a holy H7676 sabbath H3068 unto Jehovah: H644 bake H644 that which ye will bake, H1310 and boil H1310 that which ye will boil; H3605 and all that H5736 remaineth over H3240 lay up H4931 for you to be kept H1242 until the morning.

24 H3240 And they laid it up H1242 till the morning, H4872 as Moses H6680 bade: H887 and it did not become foul, H7415 neither was there any worm therein.

25 H4872 And Moses H559 said, H398 Eat H3117 that to-day; H3117 for to-day H7676 is a sabbath H3068 unto Jehovah: H3117 to-day H4672 ye shall not find H7704 it in the field.

26 H8337 Six H3117 days H3950 ye shall gather H7637 it; but on the seventh H3117 day H7676 is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

27 H7637 And it came to pass on the seventh H3117 day, H3318 that there went out H5971 some of the people H3950 to gather, H4672 and they found none.

28 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H4872 unto Moses, H3985 How long refuse H8104 ye to keep H4687 my commandments H8451 and my laws?

29 H7200 See, H3068 for that Jehovah H5414 hath given H7676 you the sabbath, H5414 therefore he giveth H8345 you on the sixth H3117 day H3899 the bread H3117 of two days; H3427 abide H376 ye every man H376 in his place, let no man H3318 go out H4725 of his place H7637 on the seventh H3117 day.

30 H5971 So the people H7673 rested H7637 on the seventh H3117 day.

31 H1004 And the house H3478 of Israel H7121 called H8034 the name H4478 thereof Manna: H1407 and it was like coriander H2233 seed, H3836 white; H2940 and the taste H6838 of it was like wafers H1706 made with honey.

32 H4872 And Moses H559 said, H1697 This is the thing H3068 which Jehovah H6680 hath commanded, H4393 Let H6016 an omerful H4931 of it be kept H1755 throughout your generations, H7200 that they may see H3899 the bread H398 wherewith I fed H4057 you in the wilderness, H3318 when I brought you forth H776 from the land H4714 of Egypt.

33 H4872 And Moses H559 said H175 unto Aaron, H3947 Take H259 a H6803 pot, H5414 and put H6016 an omerful H4393 of H4478 manna H3240 therein, and lay it up H6440 before H3068 Jehovah, H4931 to be kept H1755 throughout your generations.

34 H3068 As Jehovah H6680 commanded H4872 Moses, H175 so Aaron H3240 laid it up H6440 before H5715 the Testimony, H4931 to be kept.

35 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H398 did eat H4478 the manna H705 forty H8141 years, H935 until they came H776 to a land H3427 inhabited; H398 they did eat H4478 the manna, H935 until they came H7097 unto the borders H776 of the land H3667 of Canaan.

36 H6016 Now an omer H6224 is the tenth H374 part of an ephah.
