2 Chronicles 21 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

1 H3092 Now Jehoshaphat H7901 slept H1 with his fathers, H6912 and was buried H1 with his fathers H5892 in the city H1732 of David. H3088 And Jehoram H1121 his son H4427 reigned in his stead.

2 H251 And he had brothers H1121 the sons H3092 of Jehoshaphat, H5838 Azariah, H3171 and Jehiel, H2148 and Zechariah, H5838 and Azariah, H4317 and Michael, H8203 and Shephatiah: H1121 all these were the sons H3092 of Jehoshaphat H4428 king H3478 of Israel.

3 H1 And their father H5414 gave H7227 them great H4979 gifts H3701 of silver, H2091 and of gold, H4030 and of precious things, H4694 with fenced H5892 cities H3063 in Judah: H4467 but the kingdom H5414 gave H3088 he to Jehoram; H1060 because he was the firstborn.

4 H3088 Now when Jehoram H6965 was risen up H4467 to the kingdom H1 of his father, H2388 he strengthened H2026 himself, and killed H251 all his brothers H2719 with the sword, H8269 and various also of the princes H3478 of Israel.

5 H3088 Jehoram H7970 was thirty H8147 and two H8141 years H1121 old H4427 when he began to reign, H4427 and he reigned H8083 eight H8141 years H3389 in Jerusalem.

6 H3212 And he walked H1870 in the way H4428 of the kings H3478 of Israel, H6213 like as did H1004 the house H256 of Ahab: H1323 for he had the daughter H256 of Ahab H802 to wife: H6213 and he worked H7451 that which was evil H5869 in the eyes H3068 of the Lord.

7 H3068 But the Lord H14 would H7843 not destroy H1004 the house H1732 of David, H1285 because of the covenant H3772 that he had made H1732 with David, H559 and as he promised H5414 to give H5216 a window H1121 to him and to his sons H3117 for ever.

8 H3117 In his days H123 the Edomites H6586 revolted H3027 from under the dominion H3063 of Judah, H4427 and made H4428 themselves a king.

9 H3088 Then Jehoram H5674 went forth H8269 with his princes, H7393 and all his chariots H6965 with him: and he rose up H3915 by night, H5221 and struck H123 the Edomites H5437 which surrounded him in, H8269 and the captains H7393 of the chariots.

10 H123 So the Edomites H6586 revolted H3027 from under the hand H3063 of Judah H3117 unto this day. H6256 The same time H3841 also did Libnah H6586 revolt H3027 from under his hand; H5800 because he had forsaken H3068 the Lord H430 God H1 of his fathers.

11 H6213 Moreover he made H1116 high places H2022 in the mountains H3063 of Judah, H3427 and caused the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem H2181 to commit fornication, H5080 and compelled H3063 Judah thereto.

12 H935 And there came H4385 a writing H452 to him from Elijah H5030 the prophet, H559 saying, H559 Thus says H3068 the Lord H430 God H1732 of David H1 your father, H1980 Because you have not walked H1870 in the ways H3092 of Jehoshaphat H1 your father, H1870 nor in the ways H609 of Asa H4428 king H3063 of Judah,

13 H3212 But have walked H1870 in the way H4428 of the kings H3478 of Israel, H3063 and have made Judah H3427 and the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem H2181 to go a whoring, H2181 like to the whoredoms H1004 of the house H256 of Ahab, H2026 and also have slain H251 your brothers H1 of your father's H1004 house, H2896 which were better than yourself:

14 H1419 Behold, with a great H4046 plague H3068 will the Lord H5062 strike H5971 your people, H1121 and your sons, H802 and your wives, H7399 and all your goods:

15 H7227 And you shall have great H2483 sickness H4245 by disease H4578 of your bowels, H4578 until your bowels H3318 fall out H2483 by reason of the sickness H3117 day H3117 by day.

16 H3068 And the Lord H5782 stirred up H3088 against Jehoram H7307 the spirit H6430 of the Philistines, H6163 and of the Arabians, H5921 that were near H3569 the Ethiopians:

17 H5927 And they came up H3063 into Judah, H1234 and broke H7617 into it, and carried away H7399 all the substance H4672 that was found H4428 in the king's H1004 house, H1121 and his sons H802 also, and his wives; H1121 so that there was never a son H7604 left H3059 him, save Jehoahaz, H6996 the youngest H1121 of his sons.

18 H310 And after H3068 all this the Lord H5062 struck H4578 him in his bowels H369 with an incurable H2483 disease.

19 H3117 And it came to pass, that in process of time, H3318 after H7093 the end H8147 of two H3117 years, H4578 his bowels H3318 fell out H5973 by reason H2483 of his sickness: H4191 so he died H7451 of severe H8463 diseases. H5971 And his people H6213 made H8316 no burning H8316 for him, like the burning H1 of his fathers.

20 H7970 Thirty H8147 and two H1121 years old H4427 was he when he began to reign, H4427 and he reigned H3389 in Jerusalem H8083 eight H8141 years, H3212 and died H2532 without being liked. H6912 But they buried H5892 him in the city H1732 of David, H6913 but not in the tombs H4428 of the kings.
