Fer be this fro me; suppose not the kyng ayens his seruaunt `siche a thing in al `the hows of my fadir; for thi seruaunt knew not ony thing, ether litil ethir greet, of this cause. 16 And the kyng seide, Achymelech, thou schalt die bi deeth, thou, and al the hows of thi fadir. 17 And the kyng seide to men able to be sent out, that stoden aboute hym, Turne ye, and sle the preestis of the Lord, for the hond of hem is with Dauid; and thei wisten that he fledde, and thei schewiden not to me. Let not the kinge laie soch to his seruautes charge in all my fathers house: for thy seruaunt knewe not of all these thinges nether small ner greate. 16 Neuertheles the kynge saide: Ahimelech thou must dye ye death, thou and all thy fathers house. 17 And the kynge sayde to his fote men that stode by him: Turne you, and slaye the prestes of the LORDE, for their hande is with Dauid also. Să nu arunce împăratul nici o vină asupra robului său, nici asupra nimănui din casa tatălui meu, căci robul tău nu ştie nimic din toate acestea, nici lucru mic nici lucru mare.`` 16 Împăratul a zis:,,Trebuie să mori, Ahimelec, tu şi toată casa tatălui tău.`` 17 Şi împăratul a zis alergătorilor cari stăteau lîngă el:,,Întoarceţi-vă, şi omorîţi pe preoţii Domnului; căci s'au învoit cu David: au ştiut bine că fuge, şi nu mi-au dat de veste.`` Dar slujitorii împăratului n'au voit să întindă mîna ca să lovească pe preoţii Domnului. 18 Atunci împăratul a zis lui Doeg:,,Întoarce-te, şi loveşte pe preoţi.`` Şi Doeg, Edomitul, s'a întors, şi a lovit pe preoţi; a omorît în ziua aceea optzeci şi cinci de oameni, cari purtau efodul de in.
Ukrainian(i) 14 І відповів Ахімелех цареві та й сказав: А хто серед усіх рабів твоїх вірний, як Давид, царів зять, і має приступ до тайної ради, і шанований у твоєму домі? 15 Хіба сьогодні зачав я питати для нього Бога? Борони мене Боже! Нехай цар не кладе закиду на раба свого та на ввесь дім батька мого, бо в усьому тому твій раб не знає нічого, ані малого, ані великого. 16 А цар сказав: Конче помреш, Ахімелеху, ти та ввесь дім батька твого! 17 І сказав цар слугам, що стояли при ньому: Підійдіть, і повбивайте Господніх священиків, бо й їхня рука разом із Давидом, бо вони знали, що втікає він, та не донесли до вуха мого. Та не хотіли цареві раби простягнути своєї руки, щоб діткнутися до Господніх священиків. 18 Тоді цар сказав до Доеґа: Підійди ти, і вдар священиків! І підійшов ідумеянин Доеґ, та й ударив священиків, і вбив того дня вісімдесят і п'ять чоловіка, що носять лляного ефода.
