Hallow the sabbath day as I commanded your fathers. 23 Though they did not hearken, though they did not incline their ear, but stiffened their necks more than their fathers, that they might not hearken to Me nor receive instruction; 24 yet if you will hearken to Me, saith the Lord, and not carry burdens through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day by doing no work thereon; 25 there shall enter in at the gates of this city, kings and chiefs seated on the throne of David and riding in chariots and on horses, they and their chiefs, the men of Juda and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall be inhabited for the age. 26 And there shall come from the cities of Juda and from around Jerusalem and from the land of Benjamin and from the plain and from the mountain and from the country to the south, people bringing whole burnt offerings and sacrifices and incense and fine flour and frankincense; bringing offerings of thanksgivings to the house of the Lord. 27 But if you will not hearken to me to hallow the sabbath day, so as not to carry burdens nor come in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, I will kindle afire in the gates thereof and it shall consume the streets of Jerusalem and shall not be quenched

Rotherham(i) 20 Then shalt thou say unto them––Hear ye the word of Yahweh, Ye kings of Judah and all Judah, And all ye inhabitants of Jerusalem,––who enter in through these gates: 21 Thus, saith Yahweh, Take heed unto your souls,––And do not bear any burden on the sabbath, day, Nor bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem,–– 22 Neither shall ye take forth any burden out of your houses, on the sabbath, day, Nor, any manner of work, shall ye do,––But ye shall hallow the sabbath day, As I commanded your fathers. 23 Howbeit they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear,––but stiffened their neck, that they might not hearken, neither receive correction. 24 And it shall come to pass,––If ye will, indeed hearken, unto me, Declareth Yahweh, To bring in no burden, through the gates of this city, on the sabbath, day,––But to hallow the sabbath day, by not doing thereon any manner of work, 25 Then shall enter in through the gates of this city, Kings and princes, Sitting on the throne of David, Riding in chariots and on horses, They, and their princes, The men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, And this city shall remain unto times age–abiding. 26 And they shall come in––Out of the cities of Judah, and, Out of the places round about Jerusalem, and, Out of the land of Benjamin, and, Out of the lowlands, and out of the hill country, and, Out of the South, Bringing in ascending–offering, and peace–offering, and meal–offering, and frankincense,––Even they who bring in a thank–offering into the house of Yahweh. 27 But, if ye will not hearken unto me––To hallow the sabbath day, And to bear no burden and bring in through the gates of Jerusalem, on the sabbath day, Then will I kindle a fire within her gates, And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, And shall not be quenched.
CLV(i) 20 and you have said unto them:Hear a word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, who are coming in by these gates, 21 Thus said Yahweh, Take you heed to yourselves, And you bear not a burden on the day of rest, Nor have you brought [it] in by the gates of Jerusalem." 22 Nor do you take out a burden from your houses on the day of rest, Yea, any work you do not do, And you have sanctified the day of rest, As I have commanded your fathers." 23 And they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, And they stiffen their neck not to hear, And not to receive instruction." 24 And it has been, if you certainly hearken unto Me, An affirmation of Yahweh, So as not to bring in a burden By the gates of this city on the day of rest, And to sanctify the day of rest, So as not to do in it any work--" 25 Then entered by the gates of this city have kings and princes, Sitting on the throne of David, Riding in a chariot, and on horses, They, and their princes, the man of Judah, And inhabitants of Jerusalem, And this city has remained to the eon." 26 And they have come in from cities of Judah, And from suburbs of Jerusalem, And from the land of Benjamin, And from the low country, And from the hill-country, and from the south, Bringing in burnt-offering, and sacrifice, And present, and frankincense, And bringing praise [to] the house of Yahweh." 27 And if you do not hearken unto me to sanctify the day of rest, And so as not to bear a burden, And to come in at the gates of Jerusalem on the day of rest, Then I have kindled a fire in its gates, And it has consumed the high places of Jerusalem, And it is not quenched!'"
BBE(i) 20 And say to them, Give ear to the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah, and all the people of Jerusalem who come in by these doors: 21 This is what the Lord has said: See to yourselves, that you take up no weight on the Sabbath day, or take it in through the doors of Jerusalem; 22 And take no weight out of your houses on the Sabbath day, or do any work, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I gave orders to your fathers; 23 But they gave no attention and would not give ear, but they made their necks stiff so that they might not give ear and might not get teaching. 24 And it will be, that if with all care you give ear to me, says the Lord, and take no weight through the doorways of this town on the Sabbath day, but keep the Sabbath day holy and do no work in it; 25 Then through the doors of this town there will come kings and princes, seated on the seat of David, going in carriages and on horseback, they and their princes, and the men of Judah and the people of Jerusalem: and this town will keep its place for ever. 26 And they will come from the towns of Judah, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowlands, and from the mountains, and from the South, with burned offerings and offerings of beasts and meal offerings and perfume and offerings of praise, to the house of the Lord. 27 But if you do not give ear to me, to keep the Sabbath day holy, and to let no weight be lifted and taken through the doors of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: then I will put a fire in its doorways, burning up the great houses of Jerusalem, and it will never be put out.
MKJV(i) 20 And say to them, Hear the Word of Jehovah, kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the people of Jerusalem who enter in by these gates! 21 So says Jehovah, Take heed to yourselves, and carry no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem. 22 Nor carry out a burden from your houses on the Sabbath day, nor do any work, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they did not obey, nor bowed down their ear, but made their neck stiff, so that they might not hear nor receive instruction. 24 And it shall be, if you carefully listen to Me, says Jehovah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but keep the Sabbath day holy, to do no work in it; 25 then kings and rulers sitting on the throne of David shall enter into the gates of this city, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their rulers, the men of Judah, and the people of Jerusalem. And this city shall remain forever. 26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and grain offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise to the house of Jehovah. 27 But if you will not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy, and not to carry a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day; then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it will not be put out.
LITV(i) 20 And say to them, Hear the word of Jehovah, kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the residents of Jerusalem who enter in by these gates. 21 So says Jehovah, Take heed for the sake of your lives, and do not carry a burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem. 22 And do not carry a burden from your houses on the sabbath day, nor do any work, but keep the sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they did not obey nor bow down their ear, but they made their neck stiff, not to hear, nor to receive instruction. 24 And it shall be, if you carefully listen to me, says Jehovah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but keep the sabbath day holy, to do no work in it, 25 even kings and rulers sitting on the throne of David shall enter into the gates of this city, riding on chariots and on horses, they and their rulers, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city will be inhabited forever. 26 And they will come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowland, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and grain offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the house of Jehovah. 27 But if you will not listen to Me to keep the sabbath day holy, and not to carry a burden and enter at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in her gates. And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem; yea, it shall not be put out.
ECB(i) 20 and say to them, Hear the word of Yah Veh - you sovereigns of Yah Hudah and all Yah Hudah and all the settlers of Yeru Shalem entering in by these portals. 21 Thus says Yah Veh, Guard your souls; and neither bear a burden on the shabbath day nor bring it in by the portals of Yeru Shalem: 22 neither carry forth a burden from your houses on the shabbath day nor work any work; but hallow the shabbath day as I misvahed your fathers: 23 and they neither hearken nor spread their ear; and harden their neck so that they neither hear nor take discipline. 24 And so be it, in hearkening, if ye hearken to me - an oracle of Yah Veh to bring in no burden through the portals of this city on the shabbath day - and hallow the shabbath day to work no work therein; 25 then there enter the portals of this city sovereigns and governors on the throne of David riding in chariots and on horses - they and their governors - the men of Yah Hudah and the settlers of Yeru Shalem: and they settle this city eternally: 26 and they come from the cities of Yah Hudah and all around Yeru Shalem and from the land of Ben Yamin and from the lowland and from the mountains and from the south - bringing holocausts and sacrifices and offerings and incense; and bringing spread hands to the house of Yah Veh. 27 And if you hearken not to me to hallow the shabbath day, and to not bear a burden, even entering at the portals of Yeru Shalem on the shabbath day; then I kindle a fire in the portals; and it consumes the citadels of Yeru Shalem, and quenches not.
ACV(i) 20 And say to them, Hear ye the word of LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, who enter in by these gates. 21 Thus says LORD: Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem. 22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, nor do ye any work. But hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction. 24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken to me, says LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to hallow the sabbath day, to do no work in it, 25 then there shall enter in by the gates of this city kings and rulers sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their rulers, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Don’t do any work, but make the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they didn’t listen. Sanctify the Sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear, but stiffened their neck more than their fathers did, so as not to hear Me, and not to receive correction. 24 And it shall come to pass, if you will hearken to Me, says the Lord, to carry in no burdens through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, and to sanctify the Sabbath day, so as to do no work upon it, 25 that there shall enter through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, and riding on their chariots and horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the dwellers in Jerusalem.
