6 H3083 And Jonathan H559 [H8799] said H5288 to the young man H5375 [H8802] that bore H3627 his armour, H3212 [H8798] Come, H5674 [H8799] and let us go over H4673 to the garrison H6189 of these uncircumcised: H3068 it may be that the LORD H6213 [H8799] will work H4622 for us: for there is no restraint H3068 to the LORD H3467 [H8687] to liberate H7227 by many H4592 or by few.
7 H5375 H3627 [H8802] And his armourbearer H559 [H8799] said H6213 [H8798] to him, Do H3824 all that is in thy heart: H5186 [H8798] turn H3824 thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
8 H559 [H8799] Then said H3083 Jonathan, H5674 [H8802] Behold, we will pass over H582 to these men, H1540 [H8738] and we will show ourselves to them.
9 H559 [H8799] If they say H1826 [H8798] thus to us, Tarry H5060 [H8687] until we come H5975 [H8804] to you; then we will stand still H5927 [H8799] in our place, and will not go up to them.
10 H559 [H8799] But if they say H5927 [H8798] thus, Come up H5927 [H8804] to us; then we will go up: H3068 for the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath given H3027 them into our hand: H226 and this shall be a sign to us.
11 H8147 And both H1540 [H8735] of them showed H4673 themselves to the garrison H6430 of the Philistines: H6430 and the Philistines H559 [H8799] said, H5680 Behold, the Hebrews H3318 [H8802] come forth H2356 out of the holes H2244 [H8694] where they had hid themselves.
  12 H582 And the men H4675 of the garrison H6030 [H8799] answered H3129 Jonathan H5375 H3627 [H8802] and his armourbearer, H559 [H8799] and said, H5927 [H8798] Come up H3045 [H8686] to us, and we will show H1697 you something. H3129 And Jonathan H559 [H8799] said H5375 H3627 [H8802] to his armourbearer, H5927 [H8798] Come up H310 after H3068 me: for the LORD H5414 [H8804] hath given H3027 them into the hand H3478 of Israel.
13 H3129 And Jonathan H5927 [H8799] climbed up H3027 upon his hands H7272 and upon his feet, H5375 H3627 [H8802] and his armourbearer H310 after H5307 [H8799] him: and they fell H6440 at the face of H3129 Jonathan; H5375 H3627 [H8802] and his armourbearer H4191 [H8789] slew H310 after him.
14 H7223 And that first H4347 slaughter, H3129 which Jonathan H5375 H3627 [H8802] and his armourbearer H5221 [H8689] made, H6242 was about twenty H376 men, H2677 within as it were an half H4618 acre H7704 of land, H6776 which a yoke of oxen might plow.
15 H2731 And there was trembling H4264 in the host, H7704 in the field, H5971 and among all the people: H4673 the garrison, H7843 [H8688] and the decayers, H2729 [H8804] they also trembled, H776 and the earth H7264 [H8799] quaked: H430 so it was a very great H2731 trembling.
16 H6822 [H8802] And the watchmen H7586 of Saul H1390 in Gibeah H1144 of Benjamin H7200 [H8799] looked; H1995 and, behold, the multitude H4127 [H8738] melted away, H3212 [H8799] and they went H1986 [H8800] on beating down one another.

Itaque alii cadebant ante Jonathan, alios armiger ejus interficiebat sequens eum.
Wycliffe(i) 6 Forsothe Jonathas seide to his yong squyer, Come thou, passe we to the stacioun of these vncircumcisid men, if in hap the Lord do for vs; for it is not hard to the Lord to saue, ethir in manye ethir in fewe. 7 And his squyer seide to hym, Do thou alle thingis that plesen thi soule; go whidur thou coueitist, Y schal be with thee, where euer thou wolt. 8 And Jonathas seide, Lo! we passen to these men; and whanne we apperen to hem, 9 if thei speken thus to vs, Dwelle ye, til we comen to you; stonde we in oure place, and stie we not to hem. 10 Sotheli if thei seien, Stye ye to vs; stie we, for the Lord hath bitake hem in oure hondis; this schal be a signe to vs. 11 `Therfor euer either apperide to the stacioun of Filisteis; and Filisteis seiden, Lo! And Jonathas seide to his squyer, `Stie we, sue thou me; for the Lord hath bitake hem in to the hondis of Israel. 13 Forsothe Jonathas stiede crepynge on hondis and feet, and his squyer after hym; and whanne thei hadden seyn the face of Jonathas, summe felden doun bifor Jonathas, his squier killed othere, and suede hym. 14 And the firste wounde was maad, which Jonathas and his squyer smoot, as of twenti men, in `the myddil part of lond which a peire of oxun was wont to ere in the dai. 15 And a myracle was don in the castels, and bi the feeldis, but also al the puple of the `stacioun of hem that yeden out to take prey, dredde, and `the castels weren disturblid; and it bifelde as a myracle of God. 16 And aspyeris of Saul bihelden, that weren in Gabaa of Beniamyn, and lo! a multitude cast doun, and fleynge awei hidur and thidur.
Coverdale(i) 6 And Ionathas sayde vnto his wapen bearer: Come, let vs go ouer to ye watch of these vncircumcised, peraduenture the LORDE shall worke with vs, For it is no harde matter for the LORDE to helpe by many or by fewe. 7 Then answered him his wapen bearer: Do all that is in thine hert, go on thy waie, beholde, I am with the, euen as thine hert wyll. 8 Ionathas sayde: Well than, Whan we are gone ouer to the men, and come within the sighte of them, 9 yf they saye: stonde styll, tyll we come to you, then wyll we stonde styll in oure place, and not go vp to them. 10 But yf they saye: Come vp to vs, we wyll go vp to them, the hath the LORDE delyuered them in to oure hande, and this shalbe a token for vs. 11 Now whan they came both in the sighte of the Philistynes watch, the Philistynes sayde: Se, ye Hebrues are gone out of their holes, that they were crepte in to. 12 And the men in the watch answered Ionathas and his wape bearer, and sayde: Come vp to vs, and we wyll teach you what the matter is. Then sayde Ionathas to his weapen bearer. Come vp after me, the LORDE hath delyuered them into Israels hande. 13 And Ionathas clamme vp with handes and fete, and his wapen bearer after him. And Ionathas smote them downe before him, and his wape bearer slewe behynde him, 14 so that the first slaughter that Ionathas and his wapen bearer dyd, was vpo a twentye men, with in the length of halue an aker of londe, which a pare of oxen maye tyll in one daye. 15 And there came a fearfulnes and flight in the hoost vpon the felde, and amonge all the people of the watch: and vpon the destroyers there came a fearfulnes also and flight, so that the londe was in a rumoure, and there came a flight thorow God. 16 And Sauls watchme at Gibea Be Iamin sawe, that ye multitude gat them awaye, and ranne to and fro.
MSTC(i) 6 Then said Jonathan to the young man that bare his harness, "Come, and let us go over unto the standing of these uncircumcised, peradventure the LORD will work with us: for the LORD is free to save with many or with few." 7 And his harness bearer said unto him, "Do all that is in thine heart. Set thee forward; and see, I am with thee, as thine heart lusteth." 8 Then said Jonathan, "Behold, when we go over unto the men, and show ourselves unto them, 9 if they say on this wise to us, 'Tarry until we come to you,' then we will stand still where we be and not go up unto them. 10 But and if they so say unto us, 'Come up unto us,' then we will go up, for the LORD hath delivered them into our hands. And this shall be a sign unto us." 11 And when they had both showed themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines, the Philistines said, "See, the Hebrews come out of the holes where they had hid themselves in." 12 And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his harness bearer and said, "Come up to us, and we will show you a thing." And behold, the people scattered and ran hither and thither.
Matthew(i) 6 Then sayd Ionathas to the young man that bare hys harnesse: come & let vs go ouer vnto the standynge of these vncyrcumcysed, paraduenture the Lorde wyl worke with vs: for the Lorde is free to saue with manye or wyth few. 7 And his harnesbearer sayde vnto hym: do all that is in thyne hert: set the forwarde: & se I am with the, as thyne hert lusteth. 8 Then sayde Ionathas: behold, when we go ouer vnto the men, & shewe oure selues vnto them: 9 yf they say on thys wyse to vs: tarye vntyl we come to you, then we wyl stand styl where we be & not go vp vnto them. 10 But & yf they so saye vnto vs: come vp vnto vs, then we wyl go vp, for the Lorde hath deliuered them into oure handes. Then sayd Ionathas vnto hys harnesbearer: come vp after me, for the Lord hath delyuered them into the handes of Israel. 13 And Ionathas clame vpon handes & fete, & hys harnesbearer after him. Then they fel before Ionathas, & his harnesbearer slue them after him. 14 And that fyrst slaughter which Ionathas and hys harnesbearer made was vpon a twentye men, within the compasse as it were about an halfe aker of land. 15 And there was a fear in the host that was in the felde, & among all the people: in so much that they that kept the hold and they that were gone to robbe, were afrayde also, and the earthe trymbled, and there was a feare sente of God. 16 And the watche men of Saule in Gabaah Beniamin sawe. And beholde, the people skatered and ranne hyther and thyther.

And the Philistines sayde: se, the Hebrues come out of the holes where they had hydd them selues in. 12 And the men of the watche answered Ionathas and his harnesbearer, & sayde, come vp to vs, and we will shew you a thinge. And Ionathas sayde vnto his harnesbearer, come vp after me, for the Lord hath delyuered them into the hande of Israel. 13 And Ionathas clame vp vpon handes & fete, & his harnesberer after him. And they fell before Ionathas: & his harnesberer slue them after hym. 14 And that first slaughter which Ionathas and his harnesberer made, was vpon a twentie men, within the compasse as it were about an halfe aker of lande. 15 And ther was a feare in the host, in the felde, & amonge all people: in so moche that they that were gone out of the watche to robbe, were afrayde also: and the erth trymbled, for the feare that was sent of God. 16 And the watche men of Saul in Gibea Ben Iamin, sawe. Geneva(i) 6 And Ionathan saide to the yong man that bare his armour, Come, and let vs goe ouer vnto the garison of these vncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will worke with vs: for it is not hard to the Lord to saue with many, or with fewe. 7 And he that bare his armour, saide vnto him, Doe all that is in thine heart: goe where it pleaseth thee: beholde, I am with thee as thine heart desireth. 8 Then said Ionathan, Beholde, we goe ouer vnto those men, and will shewe our selues vnto them. 9 If they say on this wise to vs, Tarie vntill we come to you, then we will stand still in our place, and not goe vp to them. 10 But if they say, Come vp vnto vs, then we will goe vp: for the Lord hath deliuered them into our hande: and this shall be a signe vnto vs. 11 So they both shewed themselues vnto the garison of the Philistims: and the Philistims said, See, the Ebrewes come out of the holes wherein they had hid themselues. 12 And the men of the garison answered Ionathan, and his armour bearer, and said, Come vp to vs: for we will shewe you a thing. Then Ionathan said vnto his armour bearer, Come vp after me: for the Lord hath deliuered them into the hand of Israel. 13 So Ionathan went vp vpon his hands and vpon his feete, and his armour bearer after him: and some fell before Ionathan, and his armour bearer slewe others after him. 14 So the first slaughter which Ionathan and his armour bearer made, was about twentie men, as it were within halfe an acre of land which two oxen plowe. 15 And there was a feare in the hoste, and in the field, and among all the people: the garison also, and they that went out to spoyle, were afraid themselues: and the earth trembled: for it was striken with feare by God. 16 Then the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Beniamin sawe: and beholde, the multitude was discomfited, and smitten as they went.

Thomson(i) 6 And when Jonathan said to his servant who carried his arms, Come let us go over to Messab of these uncircumcised Philistines, it may be, the Lord may do something for us, for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few; 7 his armour bearer said to him, Do whatever thy heart is inclined to; behold I am with thee. As thy heart is, so is mine. 8 Then Jonathan said, Behold we are going to cross over to these men, therefore we must shew ourselves before them. 9 If they say to us, Stand off there till we tell you, then we must stand where we are, and not go up to them: 10 but if they say to us, Come up to us, then let us go up, for the Lord hath delivered them into our hands. This shall be a sign to us. 11 So they both went to Messab of the Philistines; and the Philistines said, Behold the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they hid themselves. 12 And the men of Messab, addressing Jonathan, and his armour bearer, said, Come up to us, and we will let you know something. Upon which Jonathan said to his armour bearer, Come up after me; for the Lord hath delivered them into the hands of Israel. 13 So Jonathan clambered up upon his hands and feet, and his armour bearer with him; and they turned back at the sight of Jonathan, and he smote them; and his armour bearer behind him, supplied him. 14 Now the first slaughter which Jonathan, with his armour bearer made, was about twenty men, with darts, and sling stones, and pebbles picked up from the ground. 15 And there was a consternation in the camp, and in the field; and all the people who were in Messab, and they who were spoiling, were struck with horror, and would not do any thing; for the earth trembled, and the consternation was from the Lord. 16 And the watchmen of Saul, at Gabaa of Benjamin, looked, and behold the camp was in confusion from one side to the other.

Leeser(i) 6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armor, Come, and let us go over unto the outpost of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us; for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by means of many or by means of few. 7 And his armor-bearer said unto him, Do all that is in thy heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart. 8 Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto these men, and we will show ourselves unto them. 9 If they say thus unto us, Stand still until we come to you: then will we remain standing in our places, and will not go up unto them. 10 But if they say thus, Come up unto us: then will we go up; for the Lord hath delivered them into our hand; and this shall be unto us the sign. 11 And when both of them showed themselves unto the outpost of the Philistines, the Philistines said, Behold, Hebrews are coming forth out of the holes wherein they have hidden themselves. 12 And the men of the outpost addressed Jonathan and his armor-bearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will let you know something. Then said Jonathan unto his armor-bearer, Come up after me; for the Lord hath given them up into the hand of Israel. 13 And Jonathan then ascended upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armor-bearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer was killing after him. 14 And that first defeat, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer caused, was about twenty men, within about the half of a field, which a yoke of oxen might plough. 15 And there arose a terror in the camp, in the field, and among all the people; the outposts, and the free-booters, they also were terrified, and the earth quaked; and it became a very great terror. 16 And the watchers of Saul in Gib’ah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude became scattered, and ran hither and thither.
YLT(i) 6 And Jonathan saith unto the young man bearing his weapons, `Come, and we pass over unto the station of these uncircumcised; it may be Jehovah doth work for us, for there is no restraint to Jehovah to save by many or by few.' 7 And the bearer of his weapons saith to him, `Do all that is in thy heart; turn for thee; lo, I am with thee, as thine own heart.' 8 And Jonathan saith, `Lo, we are passing over unto the men, and are revealed unto them; 9 if thus they say unto us, `Stand still till we have come unto you,' then we have stood in our place, and do not go up unto them; 10 and if thus they say, `Come up against us,' then we have gone up, for Jehovah hath given them into our hand, and this to us is the sign. 11 And revealed are both of them unto the station of the Philistines, and the Philistines say, `Lo, Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hid themselves.' 12 And the men of the station answer Jonathan, and the bearer of his weapons, and say, `Come up unto us, and we cause you to know something.' Rotherham(i) 6 So Jonathan said unto the young man bearing his armour––Come! and let us cross over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised, peradventure, Yahweh may work by us,––for there is no restraint with Yahweh, to save by many, or by few. 7 And his armour–bearer said to him, Do all that is in thy heart,––decide for thyself (lo! I am with thee!), according to thine own heart. 8 Then said Jonathan, Lo! we, are crossing over unto the men,––and will discover ourselves unto them. 9 If, thus, they say unto us, Keep quiet until we get to you, then will we stand still where we are, and will not go up unto them; 10 but, if thus, they say, Come up unto us, then will we go up; for Yahweh hath delivered them into our hand,––This, then, is our sign. 11 So they two discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines,––and the Philistines said––Lo! Hebrews, coming forth out of the holes, wherein they had hidden themselves. 12 And the men of the garrison responded to Jonathan and his armour–bearer, and said––Come up unto us, and we will let you know a thing. Then said Jonathan unto his armour–bearer––Come up after me, for Yahweh hath delivered them into the hand of Israel. 13 So Jonathan went up on his hands and on his feet, and, his armour–bearer, followed him,––and they fell before Jonathan, and, his armour–bearer, was slaying after him. 14 And the first smiting wherewith Jonathan and his armour–bearer smote, was about twenty men,––within, as it were, half a furrow’s length of a yoke of land. 15 And there came to be a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the outposts and the spoilers, they too, trembled,––and the earth quaked, so it became a preternatural trembling.

LXX2012(i) 6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armor, Come, let us go over to Messab of these uncircumcised, if [perhaps] the Lord may do something for us; for the Lord is not straitened to save by many or by few. 7 And his armor-bearer said to him, Do all that your heart inclines toward: behold, I [am] with you, my heart [is] as your heart. 8 And Jonathan said, Behold, we will go over to the men, and will come down suddenly upon them. 9 If they should say thus to us, Stand aloof there until we shall send you word; then we will stand still by ourselves, and will not go up against them. 10 [But] if they should say thus to us, Come up to us; then will we go up, for the Lord has delivered them into our hands; this [shall be] a sign to us. 11 And they both went in to Messab of the Philistines; and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of their Caves, where they had hidden themselves. 12 And the men of Messab answered Jonathan and his armor-bearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will show you a thing: and Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, Come up after me, for the Lord has delivered them into the hands of Israel. 13 And Jonathan went up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer with him; and they looked on the face of Jonathan, and he struck them, and his armor-bearer did strike [them] after him. 14 And the first slaughter which Jonathan and his armor-bearer effected was twenty men, with darts and slings, and pebbles of the field. 15 And there was dismay in the camp, and in the field; and all the people in Messab, and the spoilers were amazed; and they would not act, and the land was terror-struck, and there was dismay from the lord. 16 And the watchmen of Saul [*]saw in Gabaa of Benjamin, and, behold, the army was thrown into confusion on every side.
NSB(i) 6 Jonathan said to the young man: »Let us cross over to the camp of those heathen Philistines. Maybe Jehovah will help us. If he does, nothing can keep him from giving us the victory no matter how few of us there are.« 7 His armor bearer answered him: »Do whatever you have in mind. Go ahead! I agree with you.« 8 »We will do this,« Jonathan said. »We will go across so they can see us. 9 »If they agree to come to us down the hill and fight where we are, then we will not climb up to their camp. 10 »But we will go to them if they tell us to come up the hill and fight. That will mean Jehovah will help us win.« 11 So they let the Philistines see them. The Philistines said: »Some Hebrews are coming out of the holes they were hiding in!« 12 They called out to Jonathan and the young man: »Come up here! We have something to tell you!« Jonathan said to the young man: »Follow me, for Jehovah gives Israel victory over them.« 13 Jonathan climbed out of the pass on his hands and knees. The young man followed him. Jonathan attacked the Philistines and knocked them down. The young man killed them. 14 In that first slaughter Jonathan and the young man killed about twenty men in an area of about half an acre. 15 There was panic among the army in the field. All the troops in the military post trembled with fear. The raiding party also trembled in fear. The earth shook, and there was a panic sent from God. 16 Saul’s watchmen at Gibeah of Benjamin could see the crowd in the Philistine camp dispersing in all directions.
ISV(i) 6 Jonathan told his armor bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised ones. Perhaps the LORD will work for us, since nothing prevents the LORD from delivering, whether by many or by a few.”
7 His armor bearer told him, “Do whatever you want. Let’s move out! I’m right here with you, as you wish.”
8 Jonathan said, “Look, we’re going over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them. 9 If they say to us, ‘Stay there until we come to you,’ then we will stay where we are and not go up to them. 10 But if they say, ‘Come up and fight us,’ then we will go up, for the LORD has given them into our hands, and this will be the sign for us.”
11 When the two of them showed themselves to the Philistine garrison, the Philistines said, “Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have been hiding.”
12 The men of the garrison responded to Jonathan and his armor bearer: “Come up and fight us, and we will show you something.”
Jonathan then told his armor bearer, “Follow me, for the LORD has given them into Israel’s control.”
13 Jonathan crawled up on his hands and feet, with his armor bearer following him. The Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armor bearer who was behind him also killed some. 14 In the initial attack, Jonathan and his armor bearer struck down about twenty men in an area of about half an acre of land. 15 There was terror in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. Even the garrison and the raiders were terrified. The earth shook, and there was even greater terror.
16 Saul’s sentries in Gibeah of Benjamin watched as the camp was in disarray, going this way and that.
LEB(i) 6 So Jonathan said to his armor bearer,* "Come, let us go over to the garrisons of these uncircumcised; perhaps Yahweh will act for us, for there is no hindrance for Yahweh to save by many or by few." 7 And his armor bearer* said, "Do all that is in your heart that you are inclined to do.* I am with you all of the way!* 8 Then Jonathan said, "Look, we are about to go over to the men; and we will show ourselves to them. 9 If they say to us: 'Wait until we reach you,' then we will stand as we are* and not go up to them. 10 But if they say, 'Come up to us,' then we will go up, for Yahweh has given them into our hand, and this will be the sign for us." 11 So the two of them showed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines, and the Philistines said, "The Hebrews are coming out from the holes in which they have hidden themselves." 12 Then the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor bearer,* "Come up to us and we will show you something!" And the Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer followed and finished them off. 14 In that first assault, Jonathan and his armor-bearer struck down about twenty men over half an acre of land. 15 Then terror struck the Philistines in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. 14 And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armor bearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were half a furrow's length in an acre of land. 15 And there was a trembling in the camp, in the field and among all the people. The garrison and the spoilers, they also trembled. And the earth quaked, so there was an exceedingly great trembling. 16 And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and behold, the multitude melted away and they went here and there.
VIN(i) 6 Jonathan said to his armor bearer, "Come, let's go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised ones. Perhaps the LORD will work for us, since nothing prevents the LORD from delivering, whether by many or by a few." 7 His armor bearer answered him: »Do whatever you have in mind. Go ahead! I agree with you.« 8 Then Jonathan said, Now we will go over to these men and let them see us. 9 If they say to us, 'Stay there until we come to you,' then we will stay where we are and not go up to them. 10 But if they say, 'Come up to us,' then we will go up, for Yahweh has given them into our hand, and this will be the sign for us." 11 So they revealed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines, and the Philistines said, Look, the Hebrews are crawling out of the holes they were hiding in! 12 The men of the garrison shouted to Jonathan and his armour bearer, Come up to us and we will show you something! Jonathan said to his armour bearer, Come up after me, for the LORD has delivered them into the hand of Israel. 13 Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet and his armour bearer followed, and the Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armour bearer followed and killed behind him. 14 That first slaughter by Jonathan and his armour bearer killed about twenty men in an area of about half an acre. 15 Then panic struck the whole Philistine army, those in the camp, in the field, and among all the outposts and raiding parties, and the ground shook. There was panic. 16 Saul's watchmen in Gibeah of Benjamin saw that the army had melted away and scattered.

DSV(i) 6 Jonathan nu zeide tot den jongen, die zijn wapenen droeg: Kom, en laat ons tot de bezetting dezer onbesnedenen overgaan; misschien zal de HEERE voor ons werken; want bij den HEERE is geen verhindering, om te verlossen door velen of door weinigen. 7 Toen zeide zijn wapendrager tot hem: Doe al, wat in uw hart is; wend u, zie ik ben met u, naar uw hart. 8 Jonathan nu zeide: Zie, wij zullen overgaan tot die mannen, en wij zullen ons aan hen ontdekken. 9 Indien zij aldus tot ons zeggen: Staat stil, totdat wij aan ulieden komen; zo zullen wij blijven staan aan onze plaats, en tot hen niet opklimmen. 10 Maar zeggen zij aldus: Klimt tot ons op; zo zullen wij opklimmen, want de HEERE heeft hen in onze hand gegeven; en dit zal ons een teken zijn. 11 Toen zij beiden zich aan der Filistijnen bezetting ontdekten, zo zeiden de Filistijnen: Ziet, de Hebreën zijn uit de holen uitgegaan, waarin zij zich verstoken hadden. 12 Verder antwoordden de mannen der bezetting aan Jonathan en zijn wapendrager, en zeiden: Klimt op tot ons, en wij zullen het u wijs maken. En Jonathan zeide tot zijn wapendrager: Klim op achter mij, want de HEERE heeft hen gegeven in de hand van Israël. 13 Toen klom Jonathan op zijn handen en op zijn voeten, en zijn wapendrager hem na; en zij vielen voor Jonathans aangezicht, en zijn wapendrager doodde ze achter hem. 14 Deze eerste slag nu, waarmede Jonathan en zijn wapendrager omtrent twintig mannen versloegen, geschiedde omtrent in de helft eens bunders, zijnde een juk ossen lands. 15 En er was een beving in het leger, op het veld en onder het ganse volk; de bezetting en de verdervers beefden ook zelven; ja, het land werd beroerd, want het was een beving Gods. 16 Als nu de wachters van Saul te Gibea-benjamins zagen, dat, ziet, de menigte versmolt, en doorging, en geklopt werd;

8 I řekl Jonata: Aj, my jdeme k mužům těm, a ukážeme se jim. 12 I mluvili někteří z stráže té k Jonatovi a k oděnci jeho, a řekli: Vstupte k nám, a povíme vám něco.

13 Kaj Jonatan ekgrimpis per siaj manoj kaj piedoj, kaj lia armilportisto post li.
Finnish(i) 6 Ja Jonatan sanoi palvelialle, joka oli hänen aseensa kantaja: tule, käykäämme näiden ympärileikkaamattomain leiriin: taitaa tapahtua, Herra on jotakin toimittava meidän kauttamme, sillä ei ole Herralle työläs auttaa monen kautta elikkä harvain. 7 Niin hänen aseensa kantaja vastasi häntä: tee kaikki, mitä sinun sydämessäs on: mene matkaan, katso, minä olen sinun kanssas, niinkuin sinun sydämes tahtoo. 8 Jonatan sanoi: katso, me menemme niiden miesten tykö ja ilmoitamme itsemme heille.
9 Jos he sanovat meille näin: 'Olkaa hiljaa, kunnes me tulemme teidän luoksenne', niin me seisomme alallamme emmekä lähde nousemaan heidän luoksensa.
Haitian(i) 6 Jonatan di jenn gason an: -Ann janbe lòt bò nan kan moun Filisti yo, bann moun sa yo ki pa sèvi Seyè a. Ou pa janm konnen, Seyè a ka ede nou. Nou pral janbe lòt bò a epi n'ap kite yo wè nou. 9 Si yo di nou rete kote nou ye a, y'ap vin jwenn nou, n'ap rete kote nou ye a, nou p'ap mache sou yo. 10 Men, si yo di nou moute vin jwenn yo, enben! n'a mache sou yo. Paske, sa vle di Seyè a gen tan lage yo nan men nou. 11 Yo parèt kò yo, yo kite moun Filisti yo wè yo. Moun Filisti yo di: -Gade! Men kèk ebre k'ap soti nan twou kote yo te kache. 12 Sòlda Filisti yo rele Jonatan ak jenn gason an, yo di yo: -Moute vin jwenn nou non. Nou gen yon bagay pou n' di nou. Lè sa a, Jonatan di jenn gason an: -Swiv mwen. Seyè a lage yo nan men pèp Izrayèl la. 13 Jonatan grenpe moute sou men l' ak sou pye l' yo, jenn gason an t'ap swiv li. Jonatan atake moun Filisti yo, li jete yo atè. Jenn gason an menm t'ap touye yo dèyè l'. 14 Nan premye atak sa a, Jonatan ak jenn gason an te touye vin sòlda konsa, sou yon ti teren ki pa t' menm mezire yon ka (1/4) kawo tè. 15 Tout moun Filisti ki te nan kan an, nan tout plenn lan, vin pè anpil. Sòlda yo te mete an avangad yo ak tout rès lame a te vin pè tou. Tè a pran tranble, te gen yon gwo kouri nan tout peyi a. 16 Faksyonnè Sayil te mete ap veye lavil Gibeya nan peyi moun Benjamen yo wè te gen yon sèl debandad nan mitan moun Filisti yo ki t'ap kouri tankou moun fou.

És ez legyen nékünk a jel. 11 Mikor pedig megmutatták magokat mind ketten a Filiszteusok elõõrsének, mondának a Filiszteusok: Ímé a zsidók kijõdögélnek a barlangokból, a hova rejtõzének.
