HOT(i) 12 ויחלם והנה סלם מצב ארצה וראשׁו מגיע השׁמימה והנה מלאכי אלהים עלים וירדים׃ 13 והנה יהוה נצב עליו ויאמר אני יהוה אלהי אברהם אביך ואלהי יצחק הארץ אשׁר אתה שׁכב עליה לך אתננה ולזרעך׃ 14 והיה זרעך כעפר הארץ ופרצת ימה וקדמה וצפנה ונגבה ונברכו בך כל משׁפחת האדמה ובזרעך׃ 15 והנה אנכי עמך ושׁמרתיך בכל אשׁר תלך והשׁבתיך אל האדמה הזאת כי לא אעזבך עד אשׁר אם עשׂיתי את אשׁר דברתי׃ 16 וייקץ יעקב משׁנתו ויאמר אכן ישׁ יהוה במקום הזה ואנכי לא ידעתי׃ 17 ויירא ויאמר מה נורא המקום הזה אין זה כי אם בית אלהים וזה שׁער השׁמים׃ 18 וישׁכם יעקב בבקר ויקח את האבן אשׁר שׂם מראשׁתיו וישׂם אתה מצבה ויצק שׁמן על ראשׁה׃ 19 ויקרא את שׁם המקום ההוא בית אל ואולם לוז שׁם העיר לראשׁנה׃ 20 וידר יעקב נדר לאמר אם יהיה אלהים עמדי ושׁמרני בדרך הזה אשׁר אנכי הולך ונתן לי לחם לאכל ובגד ללבשׁ׃ 21 ושׁבתי בשׁלום אל בית אבי והיה יהוה לי לאלהים׃ 22 והאבן הזאת אשׁר שׂמתי מצבה יהיה בית אלהים וכל אשׁר תתן לי עשׂר אעשׂרנו׃

  16 H3364 וייקץ awaked H3290 יעקב And Jacob H8142 משׁנתו out of his sleep, H559 ויאמר and he said, H403 אכן Surely H3426 ישׁ is H3068 יהוה the LORD H4725 במקום place; H2088 הזה in this H595 ואנכי and I H3808 לא not. H3045 ידעתי׃ knew
  17 H3372 ויירא And he was afraid, H559 ויאמר and said, H4100 מה How H3372 נורא dreadful H4725 המקום place! H2088 הזה this H369 אין none H2088 זה this H3588 כי other but H518 אם other but H1004 בית the house H430 אלהים of God, H2088 וזה and this H8179 שׁער the gate H8064 השׁמים׃ of heaven.
  18 H7925 וישׁכם rose up early H3290 יעקב And Jacob H1242 בבקר in the morning, H3947 ויקח and took H853 את   H68 האבן the stone H834 אשׁר that H7760 שׂם he had put H4763 מראשׁתיו his pillows, H7760 וישׂם   H853 אתה   H4676 מצבה a pillar, H3332 ויצק and poured H8081 שׁמן oil H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁה׃ the top
  19 H7121 ויקרא And he called H853 את   H8034 שׁם the name H4725 המקום place H1931 ההוא of that H1008 בית אל Bethel: H199 ואולם but H3870 לוז Luz H8034 שׁם the name H5892 העיר of that city H7223 לראשׁנה׃ at the first.
  20 H5087 וידר vowed H3290 יעקב And Jacob H5088 נדר a vow, H559 לאמר saying, H518 אם If H1961 יהיה will be H430 אלהים God H5978 עמדי   H8104 ושׁמרני me, and will keep H1870 בדרך way H2088 הזה me in this H834 אשׁר that H595 אנכי I H1980 הולך go, H5414 ונתן and will give H3899 לי לחם me bread H398 לאכל to eat, H899 ובגד and raiment H3847 ללבשׁ׃ to put on,
  21 H7725 ושׁבתי So that I come again H7965 בשׁלום in peace; H413 אל to H1004 בית house H1 אבי my father's H1961 והיה be H3068 יהוה then shall the LORD H430 לי לאלהים׃ my God:
  22 H68 והאבן stone, H2063 הזאת And this H834 אשׁר which H7760 שׂמתי I have set H4676 מצבה a pillar, H1961 יהיה shall be H1004 בית house: H430 אלהים God's H3605 וכל and of all H834 אשׁר that H5414 תתן thou shalt give H6237 לי עשׂר   H6237 אעשׂרנו׃

Yahweh is stationed on it. And saying is He, "I am Yahweh, the Elohim of Abraham, your forefather, and the Elohim of Isaac. Do not fear. The land on which you are lying, to you will I give it, and to your seed. 14 And become shall your seed as the soil of the land. And breach forth will you seaward and eastward and northward and toward the south-rim. And blessed, in you, are all the families of the ground, and in your seed. 15 And behold! I am with you, and keep you in every way which you shall go, and will restore you to this ground, for not forsake you will I, till I should do all which I have spoken to you. 16 And waking is Jacob from his sleep and saying, "Surely, forsooth, Yahweh is in this place, and I knew it not. 17 And fearing is he saying, "What a fearful place is this! But is not this rather the house of the Elohim, and this the gateway of the heavens? 18 And early is Jacob rising in the morning, and taking is he the stone which he had placed there for his pillow, and is placing it for a monument, and pouring oil on its top. 19 And calling is Jacob the name of that place Beth-El. Howbeit, Luz was the name of the city at first. 20 And vowing is Jacob a vow, saying, "Should it be coming that Yahweh Elohim stands by me, and keeps me in this way which I am going, and gives to me bread to eat and a garment to put on, 21 and I return in peace to my father's household, then Yahweh becomes my Elohim, 22 and this stone, which I place for a monument, shall become the house of Elohim for me. And of all that You are giving to me, tithe, yea, tithe it will I for You.

This is nothing less than God’s house and the gateway to heaven!” 18 When Jacob got up early the next morning, he took the stone that he had used for his pillow, set it up as a pillar, drenched it with oil, 19 and named the place Beth-el, although previously the city had been named Luz.

Croatian(i) 12 I usne san: ljestve stoje na zemlji, a vrhom do neba dopiru, i anđeli Božji po njima se penju i silaze. 13 Uza nj je Jahve te mu govori: "Ja sam Jahve, Bog tvoga praoca Abrahama i Bog Izakov. Zemlju na kojoj ležiš dat ću tebi i tvome potomstvu. 14 Tvojih će potomaka biti kao i praha na zemlji; raširit ćete se na zapad, istok, sjever i jug; tobom će se i tvojim potomstvom blagoslivljati svi narodi zemlje. 15 Dobro znaj: ja sam s tobom; čuvat ću te kamo god pođeš te ću te dovesti natrag u ovu zemlju; i neću te ostaviti dok ne izvršim što sam ti obećao." 16 Jakov se probudi od sna te reče: "Zaista se Jahve nalazi na ovome mjestu, ali ja nisam znao!" 17 Potresen, uzviknu: "Kako je strašno ovo mjesto!
