Acts 15

KJV_Strongs(i)
G2532 And G5100 certain men G2718 which came down [G5631]   G575 from G2449 Judaea G1321 taught [G5707]   G80 the brethren G3754 , and said, G3362 Except G4059 ye be circumcised [G5747]   G1485 after the manner G3475 of Moses G3756 , ye cannot G1410   [G5736]   G4982 be saved [G5683]  .
G3767 When therefore G3972 Paul G2532 and G921 Barnabas G1096 had [G5637]   G3756 no G3641 small G4714 dissension G2532 and G4803 disputation G4314 with G846 them G5021 , they determined [G5656]   G3972 that Paul G2532 and G921 Barnabas G2532 , and G5100 certain G243 other G1537 of G846 them G305 , should go up [G5721]   G1519 to G2419 Jerusalem G4314 unto G652 the apostles G2532 and G4245 elders G4012 about G5127 this G2213 question.
G3303 And G3767   G4311 being brought on their way [G5685]   G5259 by G1577 the church G1330 , they passed through [G5711]   G5403 Phenice G2532 and G4540 Samaria G1555 , declaring [G5740]   G1995 the conversion G1484 of the Gentiles G2532 : and G4160 they caused [G5707]   G3173 great G5479 joy G3956 unto all G80 the brethren.
G1161 And G3854 when they were come [G5637]   G1519 to G2419 Jerusalem G588 , they were received [G5681]   G5259 of G1577 the church G2532 , and G652 of the apostles G2532 and G4245 elders G5037 , and G312 they declared [G5656]   G3745 all things G2316 that God G4160 had done [G5656]   G3326 with G846 them.
G1161 But G1817 there rose up [G5627]   G5100 certain G575 of G139 the sect G5330 of the Pharisees G4100 which believed [G5761]   G3004 , saying [G5723]   G3754 , That G1163 it was needful [G5748]   G4059 to circumcise [G5721]   G846 them G5037 , and G3853 to command [G5721]   G5083 them to keep [G5721]   G3551 the law G3475 of Moses.
G1161 And G652 the apostles G2532 and G4245 elders G4863 came together [G5681]   G1492 for to consider [G5629]   G4012 of G5127 this G3056 matter.
G1161 And G1096 when there had been [G5637]   G4183 much G4803 disputing G4074 , Peter G450 rose up [G5631]   G2036 , and said [G5627]   G4314 unto G846 them G435 , Men G80 and brethren G5210 , ye G1987 know [G5736]   G3754 how that G744 a good G2250 while G575 ago G2316 God G1586 made choice [G5668]   G1722 among G2254 us G1484 , that the Gentiles G1223 by G3450 my G4750 mouth G191 should hear [G5658]   G3056 the word G2098 of the gospel G2532 , and G4100 believe [G5658]  .
G2532 And G2316 God G2589 , which knoweth the hearts G846 , bare them G3140 witness [G5656]   G1325 , giving [G5631]   G846 them G40 the Holy G4151 Ghost G2532 , even G2531 as G2254 he did unto us;
G2532 And G1252 put G3762 no G1252 difference [G5656]   G3342 between G5037   G2257 us G2532 and G846 them G2511 , purifying [G5660]   G846 their G2588 hearts G4102 by faith.
G3568 Now G3767 therefore G5101 why G3985 tempt ye [G5719]   G2316 God G2007 , to put [G5629]   G2218 a yoke G1909 upon G5137 the neck G3101 of the disciples G3739 , which G3777 neither G2257 our G3962 fathers G3777 nor G2249 we G2480 were able [G5656]   G941 to bear [G5658]  ?
G235 But G4100 we believe [G5719]   G1223 that through G5485 the grace G2962 of the Lord G2424 Jesus G5547 Christ G4982 we shall be saved [G5683]   G2596 , even G3739   G5158 as G2548 they.
G1161 Then G3956 all G4128 the multitude G4601 kept silence [G5656]   G2532 , and G191 gave audience [G5707]   G921 to Barnabas G2532 and G3972 Paul G1834 , declaring [G5740]   G3745 what G4592 miracles G2532 and G5059 wonders G2316 God G4160 had wrought [G5656]   G1722 among G1484 the Gentiles G1223 by G846 them.
G1161 And G3326 after G4601 they had held G846 their G4601 peace [G5658]   G2385 , James G611 answered [G5662]   G3004 , saying [G5723]   G435 , Men G80 and brethren G191 , hearken [G5657]   G3450 unto me:
G4826 Simeon G1834 hath declared [G5662]   G2531 how G2316 God G4412 at the first G1980 did visit [G5662]   G1484 the Gentiles G2983 , to take [G5629]   G1537 out of G2992 them a people G1909 for G846 his G3686 name.
G2532 And G5129 to this G4856 agree [G5719]   G3056 the words G4396 of the prophets G2531 ; as G1125 it is written [G5769]  ,
G3326 After G5023 this G390 I will return [G5692]   G2532 , and G456 will build again [G5692]   G4633 the tabernacle G1138 of David G3588 , which G4098 is fallen down [G5761]   G2532 ; and G456 I will build again [G5692]   G2679 the ruins [G5772]   G846 thereof G2532 , and G461 I will set G846 it G461 up [G5692]  :
G3704 That G302   G2645 the residue G444 of men G1567 might seek after [G5661]   G2962 the Lord G2532 , and G3956 all G1484 the Gentiles G1909 , upon G3739 whom G3450 my G3686 name G1941 is called [G5769]   G1909   G846   G3004 , saith [G5719]   G2962 the Lord G3588 , who G4160 doeth [G5723]   G3956 all G5023 these things.
G1110 Known G2316 unto God G2076 are [G5748]   G3956 all G846 his G2041 works G575 from G165 the beginning of the world.
G1352 Wherefore G1473 my G2919 sentence is [G5719]   G3926 , that we trouble [G5721]   G3361 not G3588 them, which G575 from among G1484 the Gentiles G1994 are turned [G5723]   G1909 to G2316 God:
G235 But G1989 that we write [G5658]   G846 unto them G567 , that they abstain [G5733]   G575 from G234 pollutions G1497 of idols G2532 , and G4202 from fornication G2532 , and G4156 from things strangled G2532 , and G129 from blood.
G1063 For G3475 Moses G1537 of G744 old G1074 time G2192 hath [G5719]   G2596 in every G4172 city G2784 them that preach [G5723]   G846 him G314 , being read [G5746]   G1722 in G4864 the synagogues G2596 every G3956   G4521 sabbath day.
G5119 Then G1380 pleased it [G5656]   G652 the apostles G2532 and G4245 elders G4862 , with G3650 the whole G1577 church G3992 , to send [G5658]   G1586 chosen [G5671]   G435 men G1537 of G846 their own company G1519 to G490 Antioch G4862 with G3972 Paul G2532 and G921 Barnabas G2455 ; namely, Judas G1941 surnamed [G5746]   G923 Barsabas G2532 , and G4609 Silas G2233 , chief [G5740]   G435 men G1722 among G80 the brethren:
G1125 And they wrote [G5660]   G1223 letters by G5495 them G846   G3592 after this manner G652 ; The apostles G2532 and G4245 elders G2532 and G80 brethren G5463 send greeting [G5721]   G80 unto the brethren G3588 which G1537 are of G1484 the Gentiles G2596 in G490 Antioch G2532 and G4947 Syria G2532 and G2791 Cilicia:
G1894 Forasmuch as G191 we have heard [G5656]   G3754 , that G5100 certain G1831 which went out [G5631]   G1537 from G2257 us G5015 have troubled [G5656]   G5209 you G3056 with words G384 , subverting [G5723]   G5216 your G5590 souls G3004 , saying [G5723]   G4059 , Ye must be circumcised [G5745]   G2532 , and G5083 keep [G5721]   G3551 the law G3739 : to whom G1291 we gave G3756 no G1291 such commandment [G5668]  :
G1380 It seemed good [G5656]   G2254 unto us G1096 , being assembled [G5637]   G3661 with one accord G3992 , to send [G5658]   G1586 chosen [G5671]   G435 men G4314 unto G5209 you G4862 with G2257 our G27 beloved G921 Barnabas G2532 and G3972 Paul,
G444 Men G3860 that have hazarded [G5761]   G846 their G5590 lives G5228 for G3686 the name G2257 of our G2962 Lord G2424 Jesus G5547 Christ.
G649 We have sent [G5758]   G3767 therefore G2455 Judas G2532 and G4609 Silas G846 , who G518 shall G2532 also G518 tell [G5723]   G846 you the same things G1223 by G3056 mouth.
G1063 For G1380 it seemed good [G5656]   G40 to the Holy G4151 Ghost G2532 , and G2254 to us G2007 , to lay upon [G5733]   G5213 you G3367 no G4119 greater G922 burden G4133 than G5130 these G1876 necessary things;
G567 That ye abstain [G5733]   G1494 from meats offered to idols G2532 , and G129 from blood G2532 , and G4156 from things strangled G2532 , and G4202 from fornication G1537 : from G3739 which G1301 if ye keep [G5723]   G1438 yourselves G4238 , ye shall do [G5692]   G2095 well G4517 . Fare ye well [G5770]  .
G3303 So G3767   G630 when they were dismissed [G5685]   G2064 , they came [G5627]   G1519 to G490 Antioch G2532 : and G4863 when they had gathered G4128 the multitude G4863 together [G5631]   G1929 , they delivered [G5656]   G1992 the epistle:
G1161 Which when G314 they had read [G5631]   G5463 , they rejoiced [G5644]   G1909 for G3874 the consolation.
G2455 And Judas G2532 and G4609 Silas G5607 , being [G5752]   G4396 prophets G2532 also G846 themselves G3870 , exhorted [G5656]   G80 the brethren G1223 with G4183 many G3056 words G2532 , and G1991 confirmed [G5656]   them .
G1161 And G4160 after they had tarried [G5660]   G5550 there a space G630 , they were let go [G5681]   G3326 in G1515 peace G575 from G80 the brethren G4314 unto G652 the apostles.
G1161 Notwithstanding G1380 it pleased [G5656]   G4609 Silas G1961 to abide G847 there G1961 still [G5658]  .
G3972 Paul G1161 also G2532 and G921 Barnabas G1304 continued [G5707]   G1722 in G490 Antioch G1321 , teaching [G5723]   G2532 and G2097 preaching [G5734]   G3056 the word G2962 of the Lord G3326 , with G4183 many G2087 others G2532 also.
G1161 And G5100 some G2250 days G3326 after G3972 Paul G2036 said [G5627]   G4314 unto G921 Barnabas G1211 , G1994 Let us go again [G5660]   G1980 and visit [G5667]   G2257 our G80 brethren G2596 in G3956 every G4172 city G1722 where G3739   G2605 we have preached [G5656]   G3056 the word G2962 of the Lord G4459 , and see how G2192 they do [G5719]  .
G1161 And G921 Barnabas G1011 determined [G5662]   G4838 to take with them [G5629]   G2491 John G2564 , whose surname was [G5746]   G3138 Mark.
G1161 But G3972 Paul G515 thought G3361 not G515 good [G5707]   G4838 to take G5126 him G4838 with them [G5629]   G3588 , who G868 departed [G5631]   G575 from G846 them G575 from G3828 Pamphylia G2532 , and G4905 went [G5631]   G3361 not G846 with them G1519 to G2041 the work.
G3767 And G3948 the contention G1096 was [G5633]   G3948 so sharp G846 between them G5620 , that G673 they departed asunder [G5683]   G575 one from the other G240   G5037 : and so G921 Barnabas G3880 took [G5631]   G3138 Mark G1602 , and sailed [G5658]   G1519 unto G2954 Cyprus;
G1161 And G3972 Paul G1951 chose [G5671]   G4609 Silas G1831 , and departed [G5627]   G3860 , being recommended [G5685]   G5259 by G80 the brethren G5485 unto the grace G2316 of God.
G1161 And G1330 he went through [G5711]   G4947 Syria G2532 and G2791 Cilicia G1991 , confirming [G5723]   G1577 the churches.
ERV(i) 1 And certain men came down from Judaea and taught the brethren, [saying], Except ye be circumcised after the custom of Moses, ye cannot be saved. 2 And when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and questioning with them, [the brethren] appointed that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. 3 They therefore, being brought on their way by the church, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. 4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church and the apostles and the elders, and they rehearsed all things that God had done with them. 5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying, It is needful to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses. 6 And the apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much questioning, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, that ye should put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that we shall be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in like manner as they. 12 And all the multitude kept silence; and they hearkened unto Barnabas and Paul rehearsing what signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them. 13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Brethren, hearken unto me: 14 Symeon hath rehearsed how first God did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. 15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, 16 After these things I will return, And I will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen; And I will build again the ruins thereof, And I will set it up: 17 That the residue of men may seek after the Lord, And all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, 18 Saith the Lord, who maketh these things known from the beginning of the world. 19 Wherefore my judgment is, that we trouble not them which from among the Gentiles turn to God; 20 but that we write unto them, that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses from generations of old hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath. 22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; [namely], Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: 23 and they wrote [thus] by them, The apostles and the elder brethren unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greeting: 24 Forasmuch as we have heard that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls; to whom we gave no commandment; 25 it seemed good unto us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also shall tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29 that ye abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which if ye keep yourselves, it shall be well with you. Fare ye well. 30 So they, when they were dismissed, came down to Antioch; and having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle. 31 And when they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation. 32 And Judas and Silas, being themselves also prophets, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them. 33 And after they had spent some time [there], they were dismissed in peace from the brethren unto those that had sent them forth. 34 35 But Paul and Barnabas tarried in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. 36 And after some days Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us return now and visit the brethren in every city wherein we proclaimed the word of the Lord, [and see] how they fare. 37 And Barnabas was minded to take with them John also, who was called Mark. 38 But Paul thought not good to take with them him who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. 39 And there arose a sharp contention, so that they parted asunder one from the other, and Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away unto Cyprus; 40 but Paul chose Silas, and went forth, being commended by the brethren to the grace of the Lord. 41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
