Mace(i) 1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they went to the sepulchre with the spices they had provided, accompanied by several others. 2 and having found that the stone had been remov'd from the sepulchre, they entred in, 3 but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 whilst they were in great perplexity about it, all of a sudden, two men appear'd before them in robes of light. 5 upon which they were frightned, and bowed themselves to the very ground: but the men said to them, why do you look among the dead for one that is alive? 6 he is not here, but is risen: remember what he told you, when he was yet in Galilee, 7 that the son of man must be deliver'd into the hands of sinful men; be crucified; and the third day rise again. 8 then they remembred his words; 9 and upon their return from the sepulchre, they related the whole matter to the eleven, and all the other disciples. 10 it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and others with them, who gave the apostles this relation: 11 which however appear'd to them such a delirious tale, they could not give credit to any of them.
Whiston(i) 1 But upon the first [day] of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing what they had prepared, and certain with them. 2 But they reasoned among themselves who now shall roll away the stone? But They found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3 And they entred in, and found not the body. 4 And it came to pass, as they were perplexed about it; behold two men stood by them in a shining garment. 5 And [they were] afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth; But they said unto them, Why seek ye him that is alive among the dead? 6 Remember how many things he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 That the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembred his words, 9 And returned, and told all these things unto the eleven, and all the rest. 10 Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary [the mother] of James, and other [women] with them, told these things unto the apostles, 11 And these words seemed to them as an idle tale, and they believed them not.
Wesley(i) 1 And on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the sepulchre, bringing the spices, which they had prepared and certain others with them. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre, And entering, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 3 And while they were perplexed concerning it, 4 behold two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their face to the earth, they said to them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he spake to you being yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and rise again the third day. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 And returning from the sepulchre, told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
Worsley(i) 1 And on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared; (and some others with them:) and found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre: 2 so they went in, 3 but found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And while they were in perplexity about it, behold, two men stood by them in shining robes. 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the ground, the men said unto them, Why do ye seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, He is risen: remember how He spake to you, when He was yet in Galilee, 7 saying, the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of wicked men, and be crucified; and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 and returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things to the eleven apostles, and to all the rest. 10 Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, that told these things to the apostles: 11 and their words appeared to them as an idle tale, and they did not believe them.

He has come back to life. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, 7 when He told you that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again." 8 Then they remembered His words, 9 and returning from the tomb they reported all this to the Eleven and to all the rest. 10 The women were Mary of Magdala, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; and they and the rest of the women related all this to the Apostles. 11 But the whole story seemed to them an idle tale; they could not believe the women.

BBE(i) 1 But on the first day of the week, at dawn, they came to the place where his body had been put, taking the spices which they had got ready. 2 And they saw that the stone had been rolled away. 3 And they went in, but the body of the Lord Jesus was not there. 4 And while they were in doubt about it, they saw two men in shining clothing by them: 5 And while their faces were bent down to the earth in fear, these said to them, Why are you looking for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, he has come back to life: have in mind what he said to you when he was still in Galilee, saying, 7 The Son of man will be given up into the hands of evil-doers, and be put to death on the cross, and on the third day he will come back to life. 8 And his words came back into their minds, 9 And they went away from that place and gave an account of all these things to the eleven disciples and all the others. 10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary, the mother of James: and the other women with them said these things to the Apostles. 11 But these words seemed foolish to them, and they had no belief in them.

THE RESURRECTION OF YAH SHUA
And on the first of the shabbaths, deep in the morning, they come to the tomb, bringing the aromatics they prepared, and some with them: 2 and they find the stone rolled away from the tomb: 3 and they enter and find not the body of Adonay Yah Shua. 4 And so be it, they are thoroughly perplexed about this, that behold, two men in flashing apparel stand by them. 5 - and being awestricken, they recline their faces to the earth. And they say to them, Why seek you the living with the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galiyl, 7 wording, The Son of humanity must be betrayed into the hands of sinful humanity, and be staked, and the third day rise. 8 And they remember his rhema; 9 and return from the tomb and evangelize all these to the eleven and to all the rest: 10 it is Miryam the Magdalene and Yah Hanna and Miryam of Yaaqovos and the rest with them word these to the apostles: 11 and their rhema manifests in their sight as gab; and they distrust them.
AUV(i) 1 Now at early dawn on the first day of the week [i.e., early Sunday morning], the women [See Mark 16:1] went to Jesus’ grave site, taking the spices which they had prepared [for His burial]. 2 But they found the stone [had already been] rolled away from the [opening of the] grave site. 3 So, they went in [i.e., into the cave-like tomb], but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, while they wondered about the situation, suddenly two men in brilliant clothing [were seen] standing beside them. 5 As the women became terrified and bowed down with their faces toward the ground [i.e., in reverence and awe], the two men said to them, “Why are you looking for the living [One] where they bury dead people? 6 He is not here; for He has risen [from the dead]. [Do you not] remember what He told you when He was still in Galilee, saying, 7 ‘The Son of man must be turned over into the hands of sinful men to be crucified, but the third day [He will] rise again [from the dead]?’” 8 Then they remembered what He had said to them. 9 When they returned from the grave site, they told all this to the eleven apostles and to all the rest [of the disciples]. 10 Now the women who told these things to the apostles were Mary from Magdala; Joanna [Note: This was the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s property manager. See Luke 8:3], and other women who were with them. 11 But these words seemed as nonsense to the apostles, and they refused to believe the women. {{Some ancient authorities do not include verse

WPNT(i) 1 Then on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb carrying the spices they had prepared, along with some others. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but upon entering they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that wow, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them: “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He told you while still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again’.” 8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the Eleven, and to all the rest. 10 They were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 But their words seemed to them like nonsense, and they disbelieved them.
JMNT(i) 1 Now in the early depths of one of the sabbaths they came upon the memorial tomb, progressively carrying [the] spices which they had prepared, [comment: the sabbath of 23:56, above, would have been the Day of Passover; the sabbath of this verse would then been the seventh day of that week, or, the weekly sabbath] 2 and they found the stone having been rolled away from the tomb, 3 yet, upon entering, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And then – it happened in the midst of a perplexity for them to be without a way [to explain or understand] about this – look! two adult men (human males), in clothing that was constantly flashing and radiating beams of light, stepped up suddenly and stood by them. 5 Now in their immediately coming to be terrified and bowing [their] faces unto the ground (or: So, at their suddenly becoming engulfed in fear and inclining prostrate – the faces [pressed] into the soil), they [i.e., the men] said to them [i.e., the women], "Why are you women in the midst of looking for the Living One in the company of (or: with; amidst) the dead folks? 6 "He is not here. To the contrary, He was aroused and raised up! Be now reminded how He spoke to you folks, while yet being in the Galilee [district], 7 "repeatedly saying [of] the Son of the Man (the Human Being; = Adam's Son; = the expected Messiah), that it continued necessary for [Him] to be turned over (or: delivered) into [the] hands of outcast humans (mankind characterized by failure to hit the target; men who by habit and way of life are sinners), and then to be crucified (executed on a stake) – and yet on (or: in) the third day to stand back up again, and rise!" 8 So thus were they reminded of His gush-effects (the results of His flow in sayings and spoken words). 9 Later, after returning from the memorial tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven, as well as to all the rest. 10 Now they [i.e., these women] were the Magdalene Mary and Joanna and Mary, the one of (or: belonging to or related to) Jacob (or: James), as well as the rest of the women with them (= their companions). They, one after another, kept on telling these things to the folks that He had commissioned as emissaries (sent-forth ones; representatives), 11 and yet these gush-effects (or: sayings; declarations) seemed (or: appeared) in their sight to be as if nonsense (or: wild talk; hysteria; or: a frivolous tale), and they continued putting no trust in them (i.e., the women; or: they were still not believing them; they were remaining without confidence in [the women]).
NSB(i) 1 It was early in the morning on the first day of the week. They went to the tomb with the spices that they had prepared. 2 The stone was rolled away from the tomb. 3 When they entered they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 They were perplexed about what had happened. Two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 This frightened them and they bowed down prostrate on the ground. The two men said to them: »Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 »He is not here. He has arisen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was yet in Galilee. 7 »He said the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be impaled, and the third day rise again.« 8 They remembered his words. 9 When they returned from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 They were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them. They told these things to the apostles. 11 These words seemed to be idle talk and they did not believe them.

But at early dawn on the first day of the week, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in, they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were puzzling over this, two men in dazzling robes suddenly stood beside them. 5 While the women remained terrified, bowing their faces to the ground, the men asked them, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is living? 6 He is not here, but has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day.’
8 Then the women remembered Jesus’ words. 9 They returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven disciples and all the others. 10 The women who told the apostles about it were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and some others. 11 But what they said seemed nonsense to them, so they did not believe them.
