  2 H6438 And the chief H5971 of all the people H7626 , even of all the tribes H3478 of Israel H3320 , presented [H8691]   H6951 themselves in the assembly H5971 of the people H430 of God H702 , four H3967 hundred H505 thousand H376 footmen H7273   H8025 that drew [H8802]   H2719 sword.
  3 H1121 (Now the children H1144 of Benjamin H8085 heard [H8799]   H1121 that the children H3478 of Israel H5927 were gone up [H8804]   H4709 to Mizpeh H559 .) Then said [H8799]   H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H1696 , Tell [H8761]   H1961 us, how was [H8738]   H7451 this wickedness?
  4 H3881 And the Levite H376   H376 , the husband H802 of the woman H7523 that was slain [H8737]   H6030 , answered [H8799]   H559 and said [H8799]   H935 , I came [H8804]   H1390 into Gibeah H1144 that belongeth to Benjamin H6370 , I and my concubine H3885 , to lodge [H8800]  .
  5 H1167 And the men H1390 of Gibeah H6965 rose [H8799]   H5437 against me, and beset H1004 the house H5437 round about [H8799]   H3915 upon me by night H1819 , and thought [H8765]   H2026 to have slain [H8800]   H6370 me: and my concubine H6031 have they forced [H8765]   H4191 , that she is dead [H8799]  .
  6 H270 And I took [H8799]   H6370 my concubine H5408 , and cut her in pieces [H8762]   H7971 , and sent [H8762]   H7704 her throughout all the country H5159 of the inheritance H3478 of Israel H6213 : for they have committed [H8804]   H2154 lewdness H5039 and folly H3478 in Israel.
  7 H1121 Behold, ye are all children H3478 of Israel H3051 ; give [H8798]   H1988 here H1697 your advice H6098 and counsel.
  8 H5971 And all the people H6965 arose [H8799]   H259 as one H376 man H559 , saying [H8800]   H376 , We will not any H3212 of us go [H8799]   H168 to his tent H376 , neither will we any H5493 of us turn [H8799]   H1004 into his house.
  9 H1697 But now this shall be the thing H6213 which we will do [H8799]   H1390 to Gibeah H1486 ; we will go up by lot against it;
  10 H3947 And we will take [H8804]   H6235 ten H582 men H3967 of an hundred H7626 throughout all the tribes H3478 of Israel H3967 , and an hundred H505 of a thousand H505 , and a thousand H7233 out of ten thousand H3947 , to fetch [H8800]   H6720 victual H5971 for the people H6213 , that they may do [H8800]   H935 , when they come [H8800]   H1387 to Gibeah H1144 of Benjamin H5039 , according to all the folly H6213 that they have wrought [H8804]   H3478 in Israel.
  11 H376 So all the men H3478 of Israel H622 were gathered [H8735]   H5892 against the city H2270 , knit together H259 as one H376 man.
  12 H7626 And the tribes H3478 of Israel H7971 sent [H8799]   H582 men H7626 through all the tribe H1144 of Benjamin H559 , saying [H8800]   H7451 , What wickedness H1961 is this that is done [H8738]   among you?
  13 H5414 Now therefore deliver [H8798]   H582 us the men H1121 , the children H1100 of Belial H1390 , which are in Gibeah H4191 , that we may put them to death [H8686]   H1197 , and put away [H8762]   H7451 evil H3478 from Israel H1121 . But the children H1144 of Benjamin H14 would [H8804]   H8085 not hearken [H8800]   H6963 to the voice H251 of their brethren H1121 the children H3478 of Israel:
  14 H1121 But the children H1144 of Benjamin H622 gathered themselves together [H8735]   H5892 out of the cities H1390 unto Gibeah H3318 , to go out [H8800]   H4421 to battle H1121 against the children H3478 of Israel.
  15 H1121 And the children H1144 of Benjamin H6485 were numbered [H8691]   H3117 at that time H5892 out of the cities H6242 twenty H8337 and six H505 thousand H376 men H8025 that drew [H8802]   H2719 sword H3427 , beside the inhabitants [H8802]   H1390 of Gibeah H6485 , which were numbered [H8694]   H7651 seven H3967 hundred H977 chosen [H8803]   H376 men.
  16 H5971 Among all this people H7651 there were seven H3967 hundred H977 chosen [H8803]   H376 men H334 lefthanded H3027   H3225   H7049 ; every one could sling [H8802]   H68 stones H8185 at an hair H2398 breadth, and not miss [H8686]  .
  17 H376 And the men H3478 of Israel H1144 , beside Benjamin H6485 , were numbered [H8694]   H702 four H3967 hundred H505 thousand H376 men H8025 that drew [H8802]   H2719 sword H376 : all these were men H4421 of war.
  18 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H6965 arose [H8799]   H5927 , and went up [H8799]   H1004 to the house H430 of God [H8677]   H1008   H7592 , and asked [H8799]   H430 counsel of God H559 , and said [H8799]   H4310 , Which H5927 of us shall go up [H8799]   H8462 first H4421 to the battle H1121 against the children H1144 of Benjamin H3068 ? And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H3063 , Judah H8462 shall go up first.
  19 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H6965 rose up [H8799]   H1242 in the morning H2583 , and encamped [H8799]   H1390 against Gibeah.
  20 H376 And the men H3478 of Israel H3318 went out [H8799]   H4421 to battle H1144 against Benjamin H376 ; and the men H3478 of Israel H6186 put themselves in array [H8799]   H4421 to fight H1390 against them at Gibeah.
  21 H1121 And the children H1144 of Benjamin H3318 came forth [H8799]   H1390 out of Gibeah H7843 , and destroyed down [H8686]   H776 to the ground H3478 of the Israelites H3117 that day H6242 twenty H8147 and two H505 thousand H376 men.
  22 H5971 And the people H376 the men H3478 of Israel H2388 encouraged [H8691]   H4421 themselves, and set their battle H3254 again [H8686]   H6186 in array [H8800]   H4725 in the place H6186 where they put themselves in array [H8804]   H7223 the first H3117 day.
  23 H1121 (And the children H3478 of Israel H5927 went up [H8799]   H1058 and wept [H8799]   H6440 before H3068 the LORD H6153 until even H7592 , and asked [H8799]   H3068 counsel of the LORD H559 , saying [H8800]   H5066 , Shall I go up [H8800]   H3254 again [H8686]   H4421 to battle H1121 against the children H1144 of Benjamin H251 my brother H3068 ? And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H5927 , Go up [H8798]   against him.)
  24 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H7126 came near [H8799]   H1121 against the children H1144 of Benjamin H8145 the second H3117 day.
  25 H1144 And Benjamin H3318 went forth [H8799]   H7125 against [H8800]   H1390 them out of Gibeah H8145 the second H3117 day H7843 , and destroyed down [H8686]   H776 to the ground H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H8083 again eighteen H6240   H505 thousand H376 men H8025 ; all these drew [H8802]   H2719 the sword.
  26 H1121 Then all the children H3478 of Israel H5971 , and all the people H5927 , went up [H8799]   H935 , and came [H8799]   H1004 unto the house H430 of God [H8677]   H1008   H1058 , and wept [H8799]   H3427 , and sat [H8799]   H6440 there before H3068 the LORD H6684 , and fasted [H8799]   H3117 that day H6153 until even H5927 , and offered [H8686]   H5930 burnt offerings H8002 and peace offerings H6440 before H3068 the LORD.
  27 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H7592 enquired [H8799]   H3068 of the LORD H727 , (for the ark H1285 of the covenant H430 of God H3117 was there in those days,
  28 H6372 And Phinehas H1121 , the son H499 of Eleazar H1121 , the son H175 of Aaron H5975 , stood [H8802]   H6440 before H3117 it in those days H559 ,) saying [H8800]   H3254 , Shall I yet again [H8686]   H3318 go out [H8800]   H4421 to battle H1121 against the children H1144 of Benjamin H251 my brother H2308 , or shall I cease [H8799]   H3068 ? And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H5927 , Go up [H8798]   H4279 ; for to morrow H5414 I will deliver [H8799]   H3027 them into thine hand.
  29 H3478 And Israel H7760 set [H8799]   H693 liers in wait [H8802]   H5439 round about H1390 Gibeah.
  30 H1121 And the children H3478 of Israel H5927 went up [H8799]   H1121 against the children H1144 of Benjamin H7992 on the third H3117 day H6186 , and put themselves in array [H8799]   H1390 against Gibeah H6471 , as at other times.
  31 H1121 And the children H1144 of Benjamin H3318 went out [H8799]   H7125 against [H8800]   H5971 the people H5423 , and were drawn away [H8717]   H5892 from the city H2490 ; and they began [H8686]   H5221 to smite [H8687]   H5971 of the people H2491 , and kill H6471 , as at other times H4546 , in the highways H259 , of which one H5927 goeth up [H8802]   H1004 to the house H430 of God [H8677]   H1008   H259 , and the other H1390 to Gibeah H7704 in the field H7970 , about thirty H376 men H3478 of Israel.
  32 H1121 And the children H1144 of Benjamin H559 said [H8799]   H5062 , They are smitten down [H8737]   H6440 before H7223 us, as at the first H1121 . But the children H3478 of Israel H559 said [H8804]   H5127 , Let us flee [H8799]   H5423 , and draw [H8804]   H5892 them from the city H4546 unto the highways.
  33 H376 And all the men H3478 of Israel H6965 rose up [H8804]   H4725 out of their place H6186 , and put themselves in array [H8799]   H1193 at Baaltamar H693 : and the liers in wait [H8802]   H3478 of Israel H1518 came forth [H8688]   H4725 out of their places H4629 , even out of the meadows H1387 of Gibeah.
  34 H935 And there came [H8799]   H5048 against H1390 Gibeah H6235 ten H505 thousand H977 chosen [H8803]   H376 men H3478 out of all Israel H4421 , and the battle H3513 was sore [H8804]   H3045 : but they knew [H8804]   H7451 not that evil H5060 was near [H8802]   them.
  35 H3068 And the LORD H5062 smote [H8799]   H1144 Benjamin H6440 before H3478 Israel H1121 : and the children H3478 of Israel H7843 destroyed [H8686]   H1145 of the Benjamites H3117 that day H6242 twenty H2568 and five H505 thousand H3967 and an hundred H376 men H8025 : all these drew [H8802]   H2719 the sword.
  36 H1121 So the children H1144 of Benjamin H7200 saw [H8799]   H5062 that they were smitten [H8738]   H376 : for the men H3478 of Israel H5414 gave [H8799]   H4725 place H1145 to the Benjamites H982 , because they trusted [H8804]   H693 unto the liers in wait [H8802]   H7760 which they had set [H8804]   H1390 beside Gibeah.
  37 H693 And the liers in wait [H8802]   H2363 hasted [H8689]   H6584 , and rushed [H8799]   H1390 upon Gibeah H693 ; and the liers in wait [H8802]   H4900 drew themselves along [H8799]   H5221 , and smote [H8686]   H5892 all the city H6310 with the edge H2719 of the sword.
  38 H4150 Now there was an appointed sign H376 between the men H3478 of Israel H5973 and H693 the liers in wait [H8802]   H7235 , that they should make a great [H8685]   H4864 flame H6227 with smoke H5927 rise up [H8687]   H5892 out of the city.
  39 H376 And when the men H3478 of Israel H2015 retired [H8799]   H4421 in the battle H1144 , Benjamin H2490 began [H8689]   H5221 to smite [H8687]   H2491 and kill H376 of the men H3478 of Israel H7970 about thirty H376 persons H559 : for they said [H8804]   H5062 , Surely [H8736]   H5062 they are smitten down [H8737]   H6440 before H7223 us, as in the first H4421 battle.
  40 H4864 But when the flame H2490 began [H8689]   H5927 to arise up [H8800]   H5892 out of the city H5982 with a pillar H6227 of smoke H1145 , the Benjamites H6437 looked [H8799]   H310 behind H3632 them, and, behold, the flame H5892 of the city H5927 ascended up [H8804]   H8064 to heaven.
  41 H376 And when the men H3478 of Israel H2015 turned again [H8804]   H376 , the men H1144 of Benjamin H926 were amazed [H8735]   H7200 : for they saw [H8804]   H7451 that evil H5060 was come [H8804]   upon them.
  42 H6437 Therefore they turned [H8799]   H6440 their backs before H376 the men H3478 of Israel H1870 unto the way H4057 of the wilderness H4421 ; but the battle H1692 overtook [H8689]   H5892 them; and them which came out of the cities H7843 they destroyed [H8688]   H8432 in the midst of them.
  43 H3803 Thus they inclosed [H8765]   H1145 the Benjamites H3803 round about [H8765]   H7291 , and chased [H8689]   H1869 them, and trode them down [H8689]   H4496 with ease H5227 over against H1390 Gibeah H4217 toward the sunrising H8121  .
  44 H5307 And there fell [H8799]   H1144 of Benjamin H8083 eighteen H6240   H505 thousand H376 men H582 ; all these were men H2428 of valour.
  45 H6437 And they turned [H8799]   H5127 and fled [H8799]   H4057 toward the wilderness H5553 unto the rock H7417 of Rimmon H5953 : and they gleaned [H8779]   H4546 of them in the highways H2568 five H505 thousand H376 men H1692 ; and pursued [H8686]   H310 hard after H1440 them unto Gidom H5221 , and slew [H8686]   H505 two thousand H376 men of them.
  46 H5307 So that all which fell [H8802]   H3117 that day H1144 of Benjamin H6242 were twenty H2568 and five H505 thousand H376 men H8025 that drew [H8802]   H2719 the sword H582 ; all these were men H2428 of valour.
  47 H8337 But six H3967 hundred H376 men H6437 turned [H8799]   H5127 and fled [H8799]   H4057 to the wilderness H5553 unto the rock H7417 Rimmon H3427 , and abode [H8799]   H5553 in the rock H7417 Rimmon H702 four H2320 months.
  48 H376 And the men H3478 of Israel H7725 turned again [H8804]   H1121 upon the children H1144 of Benjamin H5221 , and smote [H8686]   H6310 them with the edge H2719 of the sword H4974 , as well the men H5892 of every city H5704 , as H929 the beast H4672 , and all that came to hand [H8737]   H7971 : also they set [H8765]   H784 on fire H5892 all the cities H4672 that they came to [H8737]  .

  3 H8085 וישׁמעו heard H1121 בני (Now the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3588 כי that H5927 עלו were gone up H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4709 המצפה to Mizpeh.) H559 ויאמרו Then said H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H1696 דברו Tell H349 איכה how H1961 נהיתה was H7451 הרעה wickedness? H2063 הזאת׃ this
  4 H6030 ויען answered H376 האישׁ the husband H3881 הלוי   H376 אישׁ   H802 האשׁה of the woman H7523 הנרצחה that was slain, H559 ויאמר and said, H1390 הגבעתה into Gibeah H834 אשׁר that H1144 לבנימן to Benjamin, H935 באתי I came H589 אני I H6370 ופילגשׁי and my concubine, H3885 ללון׃ to lodge.
  5 H6965 ויקמו rose H5921 עלי against H1167 בעלי And the men H1390 הגבעה of Gibeah H5437 ויסבו   H5921 עלי upon H853 את   H1004 הבית   H3915 לילה me by night, H853 אותי   H1819 דמו thought H2026 להרג to have slain H853 ואת   H6370 פילגשׁי me: and my concubine H6031 ענו have they forced, H4191 ותמת׃ that she is dead.
  6 H270 ואחז And I took H6370 בפילגשׁי my concubine, H5408 ואנתחה and cut her in pieces, H7971 ואשׁלחה and sent H3605 בכל her throughout all H7704 שׂדה the country H5159 נחלת of the inheritance H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H3588 כי for H6213 עשׂו they have committed H2154 זמה lewdness H5039 ונבלה and folly H3478 בישׂראל׃ in Israel.
  7 H2009 הנה Behold, H3605 כלכם ye all H1121 בני children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel; H3051 הבו give H1697 לכם דבר your advice H6098 ועצה and counsel. H1988 הלם׃ here
  8 H6965 ויקם arose H3605 כל And all H5971 העם the people H376 כאישׁ man, H259 אחד as one H559 לאמר saying, H3808 לא We will not H1980 נלך go H376 אישׁ any H168 לאהלו to his tent, H3808 ולא neither H5493 נסור turn H376 אישׁ will we any H1004 לביתו׃ into his house.
  9 H6258 ועתה But now H2088 זה this H1697 הדבר the thing H834 אשׁר which H6213 נעשׂה we will do H1390 לגבעה to Gibeah; H5921 עליה against H1486 בגורל׃ by lot
  10 H3947 ולקחנו And we will take H6235 עשׂרה ten H376 אנשׁים men H3967 למאה of a hundred H3605 לכל throughout all H7626 שׁבטי the tribes H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3967 ומאה and a hundred H505 לאלף of a thousand, H505 ואלף and a thousand H7233 לרבבה out of ten thousand, H3947 לקחת to fetch H6720 צדה victual H5971 לעם for the people, H6213 לעשׂות that they may do, H935 לבואם when they come H1387 לגבע to Gibeah H1144 בנימן of Benjamin, H3605 ככל according to all H5039 הנבלה the folly H834 אשׁר that H6213 עשׂה they have wrought H3478 בישׂראל׃ in Israel.
  11 H622 ויאסף were gathered H3605 כל So all H376 אישׁ the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל against H5892 העיר the city, H376 כאישׁ man. H259 אחד as one H2270 חברים׃ knit together
  12 H7971 וישׁלחו sent H7626 שׁבטי And the tribes H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H582 אנשׁים   H3605 בכל through all H7626 שׁבטי the tribe H1144 בנימן of Benjamin, H559 לאמר saying, H4100 מה What H7451 הרעה wickedness H2063 הזאת this H834 אשׁר that H1961 נהיתה׃ is done
  13 H6258 ועתה Now H5414 תנו therefore deliver H853 את   H376 האנשׁים the men, H1121 בני the children H1100 בליעל of Belial, H834 אשׁר which H1390 בגבעה in Gibeah, H4191 ונמיתם that we may put them to death, H1197 ונבערה and put away H7451 רעה evil H3478 מישׂראל of Israel: H3808 ולא not H14 אבו would H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H8085 לשׁמע hearken H6963 בקול to the voice H251 אחיהם of their brethren H1121 בני But the children H3478 ישׂראל׃  
  14 H622 ויאספו gathered themselves together H1121 בני But the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H4480 מן out of H5892 הערים the cities H1390 הגבעתה unto Gibeah, H3318 לצאת to go out H4421 למלחמה to battle H5973 עם against H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.
  15 H6485 ויתפקדו were numbered H1121 בני And the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3117 ביום time H1931 ההוא at that H5892 מהערים out of the cities H6242 עשׂרים twenty H8337 ושׁשׁה and six H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב sword, H905 לבד beside H3427 מישׁבי the inhabitants H1390 הגבעה of Gibeah, H6485 התפקדו which were numbered H7651 שׁבע seven H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men. H970 בחור׃ chosen
  16 H3605 מכל every one H5971 העם people H2088 הזה this H7651 שׁבע seven H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men H970 בחור   H334 אטר   H3027 יד   H3225 ימינו   H3605 כל   H2088 זה every one H7049 קלע could sling H68 באבן stones H413 אל at H8185 השׂערה a hair H3808 ולא and not H2398 יחטא׃ miss.
  17 H376 ואישׁ And the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H6485 התפקדו were numbered H905 לבד beside H1144 מבנימן   H702 ארבע four H3967 מאות hundred H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב sword: H3605 כל all H2088 זה these H376 אישׁ men H4421 מלחמה׃ of war.
  18 H6965 ויקמו arose, H5927 ויעלו and went up H1008 בית אל to the house of God, H7592 וישׁאלו and asked counsel H430 באלהים of God, H559 ויאמרו and said, H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4310 מי Which H5927 יעלה of us shall go up H8462 לנו בתחלה first H4421 למלחמה to the battle H5973 עם against H1121 בני the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin? H559 ויאמר said, H3068 יהוה And the LORD H3063 יהודה Judah H8462 בתחלה׃ first.
  19 H6965 ויקומו rose up H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H1242 בבקר in the morning, H2583 ויחנו and encamped H5921 על against H1390 הגבעה׃ Gibeah.
  20 H3318 ויצא went out H376 אישׁ And the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4421 למלחמה to battle H5973 עם against H1144 בנימן Benjamin; H6186 ויערכו put themselves in array H853 אתם   H376 אישׁ and the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4421 מלחמה to fight H413 אל them at H1390 הגבעה׃ Gibeah.
  21 H3318 ויצאו came forth H1121 בני And the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H4480 מן out of H1390 הגבעה Gibeah, H7843 וישׁחיתו and destroyed down H3478 בישׂראל of the Israelites H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא that H8147 שׁנים and two H6242 ועשׂרים twenty H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men. H776 ארצה׃ to the ground
  22 H2388 ויתחזק encouraged themselves, H5971 העם And the people H376 אישׁ the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3254 ויספו again H6186 לערך and set H4421 מלחמה their battle H4725 במקום in the place H834 אשׁר where H6186 ערכו in array H8033 שׁם where H3117 ביום day. H7223 הראשׁון׃ the first
  23 H5927 ויעלו went up H1121 בני (And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H1058 ויבכו and wept H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD H5704 עד until H6153 הערב even, H7592 וישׁאלו and asked counsel H3068 ביהוה of the LORD, H559 לאמר saying, H3254 האוסיף again H5066 לגשׁת Shall I go up H4421 למלחמה to battle H5973 עם against H1121 בני the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H251 אחי my brother? H559 ויאמר said, H3068 יהוה And the LORD H5927 עלו Go up H413 אליו׃ against
  24 H7126 ויקרבו came near H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל against H1121 בני the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3117 ביום day. H8145 השׁני׃ the second

  26 H5927 ויעלו went up, H3605 כל Then all H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3605 וכל and all H5971 העם the people, H935 ויבאו and came H1008 בית אל unto the house of God, H1058 ויבכו and wept, H3427 וישׁבו and sat H8033 שׁם there H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H6684 ויצומו and fasted H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא that H5704 עד until H6153 הערב even, H5927 ויעלו and offered H5930 עלות burnt offerings H8002 ושׁלמים and peace offerings H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  27 H7592 וישׁאלו inquired H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3068 ביהוה of the LORD, H8033 ושׁם there H727 ארון (for the ark H1285 ברית of the covenant H430 האלהים of God H3117 בימים days, H1992 ההם׃ in those
  28 H6372 ופינחס And Phinehas, H1121 בן the son H499 אלעזר of Eleazar, H1121 בן the son H175 אהרן of Aaron, H5975 עמד stood H6440 לפניו before H3117 בימים days,) H1992 ההם it in those H559 לאמר saying, H3254 האוסף again H5750 עוד Shall I yet H3318 לצאת go out H4421 למלחמה to battle H5973 עם against H1121 בני the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H251 אחי my brother, H518 אם or H2308 אחדל shall I cease? H559 ויאמר said, H3068 יהוה And the LORD H5927 עלו Go up; H3588 כי for H4279 מחר tomorrow H5414 אתננו I will deliver H3027 בידך׃ them into thine hand.
  29 H7760 וישׂם set H3478 ישׂראל And Israel H693 ארבים liers in wait H413 אל round about H1390 הגבעה Gibeah. H5439 סביב׃ round about
  30 H5927 ויעלו went up H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל against H1121 בני the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3117 ביום day, H7992 השׁלישׁי on the third H6186 ויערכו and put themselves in array H413 אל against H1390 הגבעה Gibeah, H6471 כפעם as at other times. H6471 בפעם׃ as at other times.
  31 H3318 ויצאו went out H1121 בני And the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H7125 לקראת against H5971 העם the people, H5423 הנתקו were drawn away H4480 מן from H5892 העיר the city; H2490 ויחלו and they began H5221 להכות to smite H5971 מהעם of the people, H2491 חללים kill, H6471 כפעם as at other times, H6471 בפעם as at other times, H4546 במסלות in the highways, H834 אשׁר of which H259 אחת one H5927 עלה goeth up H1008 בית אל to the house of God, H259 ואחת and the other H1390 גבעתה to Gibeah H7704 בשׂדה in the field, H7970 כשׁלשׁים about thirty H376 אישׁ men H3478 בישׂראל׃ of Israel.
  32 H559 ויאמרו said, H1121 בני And the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H5062 נגפים smitten down H1992 הם They H6440 לפנינו before H7223 כבראשׁנה us, as at the first. H1121 ובני But the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H559 אמרו said, H5127 ננוסה Let us flee, H5423 ונתקנהו and draw H4480 מן them from H5892 העיר the city H413 אל unto H4546 המסלות׃ the highways.
  33 H3605 וכל And all H376 אישׁ the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H6965 קמו rose up H4725 ממקומו out of their place, H6186 ויערכו and put themselves in array H1193 בבעל תמר at Baal-tamar: H693 וארב and the liers in wait H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H1518 מגיח came forth H4725 ממקמו out of their places, H4629 ממערה out of the meadows H1390 גבע׃  
  34 H935 ויבאו And there came H5048 מנגד against H1390 לגבעה Gibeah H6235 עשׂרת ten H505 אלפים thousand H376 אישׁ men H970 בחור   H3605 מכל out of all H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H4421 והמלחמה and the battle H3513 כבדה was sore: H1992 והם but they H3808 לא not H3045 ידעו knew H3588 כי that H5060 נגעת near H5921 עליהם   H7451 הרעה׃ evil
  35 H5062 ויגף smote H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את   H1144 בנימן Benjamin H6440 לפני before H3478 ישׂראל Israel: H7843 וישׁחיתו destroyed H1121 בני and the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H1144 בבנימן of the Benjamites H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא that H6242 עשׂרים twenty H2568 וחמשׁה and five H505 אלף thousand H3967 ומאה and a hundred H376 אישׁ men: H3605 כל all H428 אלה these H8025 שׁלף drew H2719 חרב׃ the sword.
  36 H7200 ויראו saw H1121 בני So the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3588 כי that H5062 נגפו they were smitten: H5414 ויתנו gave H376 אישׁ for the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4725 מקום place H1144 לבנימן to the Benjamites, H3588 כי because H982 בטחו they trusted H413 אל unto H693 הארב the liers in wait H834 אשׁר which H7760 שׂמו they had set H413 אל beside H1390 הגבעה׃ Gibeah.
  37 H693 והארב And the liers in wait H2363 החישׁו hasted, H6584 ויפשׁטו and rushed H413 אל upon H1390 הגבעה Gibeah; H4900 וימשׁך drew along, H693 הארב and the liers in wait H5221 ויך and smote H853 את   H3605 כל all H5892 העיר the city H6310 לפי with the edge H2719 חרב׃ of the sword.
  38 H4150 והמועד an appointed sign H1961 היה Now there was H376 לאישׁ between the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5973 עם   H693 הארב and the liers in wait, H7235 הרב that they should make a great H5927 להעלותם rise up H4864 משׂאת flame H6227 העשׁן with smoke H4480 מן out of H5892 העיר׃ the city.
  39 H2015 ויהפך retired H376 אישׁ And when the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4421 במלחמה in the battle, H1144 ובנימן Benjamin H2490 החל began H5221 להכות to smite H2491 חללים kill H376 באישׁ of the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H7970 כשׁלשׁים about thirty H376 אישׁ persons: H3588 כי for H559 אמרו they said, H389 אך Surely H5062 נגוף are smitten down H5062 נגף are smitten down H1931 הוא they H6440 לפנינו before H4421 כמלחמה battle.   40 H4864 והמשׂאת But when the flame H2490 החלה began H5927 לעלות to arise up H4480 מן out of H5892 העיר the city H5982 עמוד with a pillar H6227 עשׁן of smoke, H6437 ויפן looked H1144 בנימן the Benjamites H310 אחריו behind H2009 והנה them, and, behold, H5927 עלה ascended up H3632 כליל the flame H5892 העיר of the city H8064 השׁמימה׃ to heaven.
  41 H376 ואישׁ And when the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H2015 הפך turned again, H926 ויבהל were amazed: H376 אישׁ the men H1144 בנימן of Benjamin H3588 כי for H7200 ראה they saw H3588 כי that H5060 נגעה was come H5921 עליו upon H7451 הרעה׃ evil
  42 H6437 ויפנו Therefore they turned H6440 לפני before H376 אישׁ the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל unto H1870 דרך the way H4057 המדבר of the wilderness; H4421 והמלחמה but the battle H1692 הדביקתהו overtook H834 ואשׁר them; and them which H5892 מהערים out of the cities H7843 משׁחיתים they destroyed H853 אותו   H8432 בתוכו׃ in the midst
  43 H3803 כתרו   H853 את   H1144 בנימן   H7291 הרדיפהו chased H4496 מנוחה with ease H1869 הדריכהו them, trod them down H5704 עד over against H5227 נכח over against H1390 הגבעה Gibeah H4217 ממזרח   H8121 שׁמשׁ׃  
  44 H5307 ויפלו And there fell H1144 מבנימן   H8083 שׁמנה eighteen H6240 עשׂר eighteen H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men; H853 את   H3605 כל all H428 אלה these H376 אנשׁי men H2428 חיל׃ of valor.
  45 H6437 ויפנו And they turned H5127 וינסו and fled H4057 המדברה toward the wilderness H413 אל unto H5553 סלע the rock H7417 הרמון of Rimmon: H5953 ויעללהו and they gleaned H4546 במסלות of them in the highways H2568 חמשׁת five H505 אלפים thousand H376 אישׁ men; H1692 וידביקו and pursued hard H310 אחריו after H5704 עד them unto H1440 גדעם Gidom, H5221 ויכו and slew H4480 ממנו of H505 אלפים two thousand H376 אישׁ׃ men
  46 H1961 ויהי were H3605 כל So that all H5307 הנפלים which fell H1144 מבנימן   H6242 עשׂרים twenty H2568 וחמשׁה and five H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב the sword; H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא that H853 את   H3605 כל all H428 אלה these H376 אנשׁי men H2428 חיל׃ of valor.
  47 H6437 ויפנו turned H5127 וינסו and fled H4057 המדברה to the wilderness H413 אל unto H5553 סלע the rock H7417 הרמון Rimmon, H8337 שׁשׁ But six H3967 מאות hundred H376 אישׁ men H3427 וישׁבו and abode H5553 בסלע in the rock H7417 רמון Rimmon H702 ארבעה four H2320 חדשׁים׃ months.
  48 H376 ואישׁ And the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H7725 שׁבו turned again H413 אל upon H1121 בני the children H1144 בנימן of Benjamin, H5221 ויכום and smote H6310 לפי them with the edge H2719 חרב of the sword, H5892 מעיר of city, H4974 מתם as well the men H5704 עד as H929 בהמה the beast, H5704 עד   H3605 כל and all H4672 הנמצא that came to hand: H1571 גם also H3605 כל all H5892 הערים the cities H4672 הנמצאות that they came to. H7971 שׁלחו they set H784 באשׁ׃ on fire
