  3 H935 ויבא hath brought H6213 ויעשׂ and done H3068 יהוה Now the LORD H834 כאשׁר according as H1696 דבר he hath said: H3588 כי because H2398 חטאתם ye have sinned H3068 ליהוה against the LORD, H3808 ולא and have not H8085 שׁמעתם obeyed H6963 בקולו his voice, H1961 והיה is come H1697 לכם דבר thing H2088 הזה׃ therefore this

  7 H8085 וישׁמעו heard H3605 כל Now when all H8269 שׂרי the captains H2428 החילים of the forces H834 אשׁר which H7704 בשׂדה in the fields, H1992 המה they H376 ואנשׁיהם and their men, H3588 כי that H6485 הפקיד governor H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon H853 את   H1436 גדליהו had made Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H776 בארץ in the land, H3588 וכי and H6485 הפקיד had committed H854 אתו unto H376 אנשׁים him men, H802 ונשׁים and women, H2945 וטף and children, H1803 ומדלת and of the poor H776 הארץ of the land, H834 מאשׁר of them that H3808 לא were not H1540 הגלו carried away captive H894 בבלה׃ to Babylon;

  8 H935 ויבאו Then they came H413 אל to H1436 גדליה Gedaliah H4708 המצפתה to Mizpah, H3458 וישׁמעאל even Ishmael H1121 בן the son H5418 נתניהו of Nethaniah, H3110 ויוחנן and Johanan H3129 ויונתן and Jonathan H1121 בני the sons H7143 קרח of Kareah, H8304 ושׂריה and Seraiah H1121 בן the son H8576 תנחמת of Tanhumeth, H1121 ובני and the sons H5778 עופי of Ephai H5200 הנטפתי the Netophathite, H3153 ויזניהו and Jezaniah H1121 בן the son H4602 המעכתי of a Maachathite, H1992 המה they H582 ואנשׁיהם׃  

  9 H7650 וישׁבע swore H1436 להם גדליהו And Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan H376 ולאנשׁיהם unto them and to their men, H559 לאמר saying, H408 אל not H3372 תיראו Fear H5647 מעבוד to serve H3778 הכשׂדים the Chaldeans: H3427 שׁבו dwell H776 בארץ in the land, H5647 ועבדו and serve H853 את   H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon, H3190 וייטב׃ and it shall be well

  10 H589 ואני As for me, H2005 הנני   H3427 ישׁב I will dwell H4709 במצפה at Mizpah H5975 לעמד to serve H6440 לפני to serve H3778 הכשׂדים the Chaldeans, H834 אשׁר which H935 יבאו will come H413 אלינו unto H859 ואתם us: but ye, H622 אספו gather H3196 יין ye wine, H7019 וקיץ and summer fruits, H8081 ושׁמן and oil, H7760 ושׂמו and put H3627 בכליכם in your vessels, H3427 ושׁבו and dwell H5892 בעריכם in your cities H834 אשׁר that H8610 תפשׂתם׃ ye have taken.

  13 H3110 ויוחנן Moreover Johanan H1121 בן the son H7143 קרח of Kareah, H3605 וכל and all H8269 שׂרי the captains H2428 החילים of the forces H834 אשׁר that H7704 בשׂדה in the fields, H935 באו came H413 אל to H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah H4708 המצפתה׃ to Mizpah,

  14 H559 ויאמרו And said H413 אליו unto H3045 הידע   H3045 תדע   H3588 כי that H1185 בעליס Baalis H4428 מלך the king H1121 בני the son H5983 עמון   H7971 שׁלח hath sent H853 את   H3458 ישׁמעאל Ishmael H1121 בן the son H5418 נתניה of Nethaniah H5221 להכתך to slay H5315 נפשׁ to slay H3808 ולא them not. H539 האמין believed H1436 להם גדליהו thee? But Gedaliah H1121 בן   H296 אחיקם׃ of Ahikam

  15 H3110 ויוחנן Then Johanan H1121 בן the son H7143 קרח of Kareah H559 אמר spoke H413 אל to H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah H5643 בסתר secretly, H4709 במצפה in Mizpah H559 לאמר saying, H1980 אלכה Let me go, H4994 נא I pray thee, H5221 ואכה and I will slay H853 את   H3458 ישׁמעאל Ishmael H1121 בן the son H5418 נתניה of Nethaniah, H376 ואישׁ man H3808 לא and no H3045 ידע shall know H4100 למה wherefore H5221 יככה should he slay H5315 נפשׁ should he slay H6327 ונפצו thee should be scattered, H3605 כל thee, that all H3064 יהודה   H6908 הנקבצים which are gathered H413 אליך unto H6 ואבדה perish? H7611 שׁארית and the remnant H3063 יהודה׃ the Jews

  16 H559 ויאמר said H1436 גדליהו But Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H413 אל unto H3110 יוחנן Johanan H1121 בן the son H7143 קרח of Kareah, H408 אל Thou shalt not H6213 תעשׂ do H853 את   H1697 הדבר thing: H2088 הזה this H3588 כי for H8267 שׁקר falsely H859 אתה thou H1696 דבר speakest H413 אל of H3458 ישׁמעאל׃ Ishmael.

  25 H1391 גבעון Gibeon, H7414 והרמה and Ramah, H881 ובארות׃ and Beeroth,

  17 H8666 ותשׁבתו And his return H7414 הרמתה to Ramah; H3588 כי for H8033 שׁם there H1004 ביתו his house; H8033 ושׁם and there H8199 שׁפט he judged H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל Israel; H1129 ויבן he built H8033 שׁם and there H4196 מזבח an altar H3068 ליהוה׃ unto the LORD.

  6 H430 אלהים God H3427 מושׁיב setteth H3173 יחידים the solitary H1004 ביתה in families: H3318 מוציא he bringeth out H615 אסירים those which are bound H3574 בכושׁרות with chains: H389 אך but H5637 סוררים the rebellious H7931 שׁכנו dwell H6707 צחיחה׃ in a dry

  16 H3588 כי For H7665 שׁבר he hath broken H1817 דלתות the gates H5178 נחשׁת of brass, H1280 ובריחי the bars H1270 ברזל of iron H1438 גדע׃ and cut

  15 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD; H6963 קול A voice H7414 ברמה in Ramah, H8085 נשׁמע was heard H5092 נהי lamentation, H1065 בכי weeping; H8563 תמרורים bitter H7354 רחל Rachel H1058 מבכה weeping H5921 על for H1121 בניה her children H3985 מאנה refused H5162 להנחם to be comforted H5921 על for H1121 בניה her children, H3588 כי because H369 איננו׃ they not.

  11 H6680 ויצו gave charge H5019 נבוכדראצר Now Nebuchadnezzar H4428 מלך king H894 בבל of Babylon H5921 על concerning H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H3027 ביד to H5018 נבוזראדן Nebuzaradan H7227 רב the captain H2876 טבחים of the guard, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

  12 H3947 קחנו Take H5869 ועיניך him, and look well H7760 שׂים him, and look well H5921 עליו to H408 ואל him no H6213 תעשׂ him, and do H3972 לו מאומה him no H7451 רע harm; H3588 כי but H518 אם but H834 כאשׁר as H1696 ידבר he shall say H413 אליך unto H3651 כן him even H6213 עשׂה do H5973 עמו׃ unto

  13 H7971 וישׁלח sent, H5018 נבוזראדן So Nebuzaradan H7227 רב the captain H2876 טבחים of the guard H5021 ונבושׁזבן and Nebushasban, H7249 רב סריס Rabsaris, H5371 ונרגל שׂר אצר and Nergal-sharezer, H7248 רב מג Rab-mag, H3605 וכל and all H7227 רבי princes; H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל׃ of Babylon's

  14 H7971 וישׁלחו Even they sent, H3947 ויקחו and took H853 את   H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H2691 מחצר out of the court H4307 המטרה of the prison, H5414 ויתנו and committed H853 אתו   H413 אל him unto H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan, H3318 להוצאהו that he should carry H413 אל   H1004 הבית him home: H3427 וישׁב so he dwelt H8432 בתוך among H5971 העם׃ the people.

  24 H559 ואמרו shall say, H3605 כל Even all H1471 הגוים nations H5921 על   H4100 מה what H6213 עשׂה done H3068 יהוה hath the LORD H3602 ככה thus H776 לארץ land? H2063 הזאת unto this H4100 מה   H2750 חרי the heat H639 האף anger? H1419 הגדול great H2088 הזה׃ of this

  25 H559 ואמרו Then men shall say, H5921 על   H834 אשׁר which H5800 עזבו they have forsaken H853 את   H1285 ברית the covenant H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבתם of their fathers, H834 אשׁר   H3772 כרת he made H5973 עמם with H3318 בהוציאו   H853 אתם   H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים׃ of Egypt:

  26 H1980 וילכו For they went H5647 ויעבדו and served H430 אלהים gods, H312 אחרים other H7812 וישׁתחוו and worshiped H430 להם אלהים them, gods H834 אשׁר whom H3808 לא not, H3045 ידעום they knew H3808 ולא and he had not H2505 חלק׃ given

  27 H2734 ויחר was kindled H639 אף And the anger H3068 יהוה of the LORD H776 בארץ land, H1931 ההוא against this H935 להביא to bring H5921 עליה upon H853 את   H3605 כל it all H7045 הקללה the curses H3789 הכתובה that are written H5612 בספר book: H2088 הזה׃ in this

  28 H5428 ויתשׁם rooted them out H3068 יהוה And the LORD H5921 מעל of H127 אדמתם their land H639 באף in anger, H2534 ובחמה and in wrath, H7110 ובקצף indignation, H1419 גדול and in great H7993 וישׁלכם and cast H413 אל them into H776 ארץ land, H312 אחרת another H3117 כיום day. H2088 הזה׃ as this

  8 H1004 והבית house, H2088 הזה And at this H1961 יהיה is H5945 עליון high, H3605 כל every one H5674 עבר that passeth H5921 עליו by H8074 ישׁם it shall be astonished, H8319 ושׁרק and shall hiss; H559 ואמרו and they shall say, H5921 על   H4100 מה Why H6213 עשׂה done H3068 יהוה hath the LORD H3602 ככה thus H776 לארץ land, H2063 הזאת unto this H1004 ולבית house? H2088 הזה׃ and to this

  9 H559 ואמרו And they shall answer, H5921 על them: therefore H834 אשׁר who H5800 עזבו they forsook H853 את   H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיהם their God, H834 אשׁר   H3318 הוציא brought forth H853 את   H1 אבתם their fathers H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים of Egypt, H2388 ויחזקו and have taken hold H430 באלהים gods, H312 אחרים upon other H7812 וישׁתחו and have worshiped H5647 להם ויעבדם them, and served H5921 על upon H3651 כן them: therefore H935 הביא brought H3068 יהוה hath the LORD H5921 עליהם   H853 את   H3605 כל them all H7451 הרעה evil. H2063 הזאת׃ this

  20 H5428 ונתשׁתים Then will I pluck them up by the roots H5921 מעל out of H127 אדמתי my land H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתתי I have given H853 להם ואת   H1004 הבית house, H2088 הזה them; and this H834 אשׁר which H6942 הקדשׁתי I have sanctified H8034 לשׁמי for my name, H7993 אשׁליך will I cast out H5921 מעל of H6440 פני my sight, H5414 ואתננו and will make H4912 למשׁל it a proverb H8148 ולשׁנינה and a byword H3605 בכל among all H5971 העמים׃ nations.

  21 H1004 והבית house, H2088 הזה And this H834 אשׁר which H1961 היה is H5945 עליון high, H3605 לכל to every one H5674 עבר that passeth H5921 עליו by H8074 ישׁם shall be an astonishment H559 ואמר it; so that he shall say, H4100 במה Why H6213 עשׂה done H3068 יהוה hath the LORD H3602 ככה thus H776 לארץ land, H2063 הזאת unto this H1004 ולבית house? H2088 הזה׃ and unto this

  22 H559 ואמרו And it shall be answered, H5921 על them: therefore H834 אשׁר which H5800 עזבו they forsook H853 את   H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבתיהם of their fathers, H834 אשׁר   H3318 הוציאם brought them forth H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים of Egypt, H2388 ויחזיקו and laid hold H430 באלהים gods, H312 אחרים on other H7812 וישׁתחוו and worshiped H5647 להם ויעבדום them, and served H5921 על upon H3651 כן them: therefore H935 הביא hath he brought H5921 עליהם   H853 את   H3605 כל all H7451 הרעה evil H2063 הזאת׃ this

  8 H5674 ועברו shall pass H1471 גוים nations H7227 רבים And many H5921 על by H5892 העיר city, H2063 הזאת this H559 ואמרו and they shall say H376 אישׁ every man H413 אל to H7453 רעהו his neighbor, H5921 על   H4100 מה   H6213 עשׂה done H3068 יהוה hath the LORD H3602 ככה thus H5892 לעיר city? H1419 הגדולה great H2063 הזאת׃ unto this

  9 H559 ואמרו Then they shall answer, H5921 על   H834 אשׁר   H5800 עזבו they have forsaken H853 את   H1285 ברית the covenant H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהיהם their God, H7812 וישׁתחוו and worshiped H430 לאלהים gods, H312 אחרים other H5647 ויעבדום׃ and served

  15 H5606 ספקו clap H5921 עליך at H3709 כפים hands H3605 כל All H5674 עברי that pass by H1870 דרך that pass by H8319 שׁרקו thee; they hiss H5128 וינעו and wag H7218 ראשׁם their head H5921 על at H1323 בת the daughter H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem, H2063 הזאת this H5892 העיר the city H559 שׁיאמרו that call H3632 כלילת The perfection H3308 יפי of beauty, H4885 משׂושׂ The joy H3605 לכל of the whole H776 הארץ׃ earth?

  16 H6475 פצו have opened H5921 עליך against H6310 פיהם their mouth H3605 כל All H341 אויביך thine enemies H8319 שׁרקו thee: they hiss H2786 ויחרקו and gnash H8127 שׁן the teeth: H559 אמרו they say, H1104 בלענו We have swallowed up: H389 אך certainly H2088 זה this H3117 היום the day H6960 שׁקוינהו that we looked for; H4672 מצאנו we have found, H7200 ראינו׃ we have seen

  17 H6213 עשׂה hath done H3068 יהוה The LORD H834 אשׁר which H2161 זמם he had devised; H1214 בצע he hath fulfilled H565 אמרתו his word H834 אשׁר that H6680 צוה he had commanded H3117 מימי in the days H6924 קדם of old: H2040 הרס he hath thrown down, H3808 ולא and hath not H2550 חמל pitied: H8055 וישׂמח to rejoice H5921 עליך over H341 אויב and he hath caused enemy H7311 הרים thee, he hath set up H7161 קרן the horn H6862 צריך׃ of thine adversaries.

  25 H559 ואמרו Then men shall say, H5921 על   H834 אשׁר which H5800 עזבו they have forsaken H853 את   H1285 ברית the covenant H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבתם of their fathers, H834 אשׁר   H3772 כרת he made H5973 עמם with H3318 בהוציאו   H853 אתם   H776 מארץ out of the land H4714 מצרים׃ of Egypt:

  28 H5117 וכנוח But after they had rest, H7725 להם ישׁובו again H6213 לעשׂות they did H7451 רע evil H6440 לפניך before H5800 ותעזבם thee: therefore leftest H3027 ביד thou them in the hand H341 איביהם of their enemies, H7287 וירדו so that they had the dominion H7725 בהם וישׁובו over them: yet when they returned, H2199 ויזעקוך and cried H859 ואתה unto thee, thou H8064 משׁמים from heaven; H8085 תשׁמע heardest H5337 ותצילם didst thou deliver H7356 כרחמיך them according to thy mercies; H7227 רבות and many H6256 עתים׃ times

  33 H859 ואתה Howbeit thou H6662 צדיק just H5921 על in H3605 כל all H935 הבא that is brought H5921 עלינו upon H3588 כי us; for H571 אמת right, H6213 עשׂית thou hast done H587 ואנחנו but we H7561 הרשׁענו׃ have done wickedly:

  7 H3605 כל All H4672 מוצאיהם that found H398 אכלום them have devoured H6862 וצריהם them: and their adversaries H559 אמרו said, H3808 לא not, H816 נאשׁם We offend H8478 תחת because H834 אשׁר because H2398 חטאו they have sinned H3068 ליהוה against the LORD, H5116 נוה the habitation H6664 צדק of justice, H4723 ומקוה the hope H1 אבותיהם of their fathers. H3068 יהוה׃ even the LORD,

  11 H3605 וכל Yea, all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H5674 עברו have transgressed H853 את   H8451 תורתך thy law, H5493 וסור even by departing, H1115 לבלתי that they might not H8085 שׁמוע obey H6963 בקלך thy voice; H5413 ותתך is poured H5921 עלינו upon H423 האלה therefore the curse H7621 והשׁבעה us, and the oath H834 אשׁר that H3789 כתובה written H8451 בתורת in the law H4872 משׁה of Moses H5650 עבד the servant H430 האלהים of God, H3588 כי because H2398 חטאנו׃ we have sinned

  12 H6965 ויקם And he hath confirmed H853 את   H1697 דבריו his words, H834 אשׁר which H1696 דבר he spoke H5921 עלינו against H5921 ועל us, and against H8199 שׁפטינו our judges H834 אשׁר that H8199 שׁפטונו judged H935 להביא us, by bringing H5921 עלינו upon H7451 רעה evil: H1419 גדלה us a great H834 אשׁר for H3808 לא hath not H6213 נעשׂתה been done H8478 תחת under H3605 כל the whole H8064 השׁמים heaven H834 כאשׁר as H6213 נעשׂתה hath been done H3389 בירושׁלם׃ upon Jerusalem.

  9 H3808 הלא not H3605 כל the whole H776 הארץ land H6440 לפניך before H6504 הפרד thee? separate thyself, H4994 נא I pray thee, H5921 מעלי from H518 אם me: if H8040 השׂמאל the left hand, H3231 ואימנה then I will go to the right; H518 ואם or if H3225 הימין to the right hand, H8041 ואשׂמאילה׃ then I will go to the left.

  15 H559 ויאמר said, H40 אבימלך And Abimelech H2009 הנה Behold, H776 ארצי my land H6440 לפניך before H2896 בטוב where it pleaseth H5869 בעיניך where it pleaseth H3427 שׁב׃ thee: dwell

  7 H935 ויבא came H477 אלישׁע And Elisha H1834 דמשׂק to Damascus; H1130 ובן הדד and Ben-hadad H4428 מלך the king H758 ארם of Syria H2470 חלה was sick; H5046 ויגד and it was told H559 לו לאמר him, saying, H935 בא is come H376 אישׁ The man H430 האלהים of God H5704 עד hither. H2008 הנה׃ hither.

  8 H559 ויאמר said H4428 המלך And the king H413 אל unto H2371 חזהאל Hazael, H3947 קח Take H3027 בידך in thine hand, H4503 מנחה a present H1980 ולך and go, H7125 לקראת   H376 אישׁ the man H430 האלהים of God, H1875 ודרשׁת and inquire H854 את by H3069 יהוה   H853 מאותו   H559 לאמר him, saying, H2421 האחיה Shall I recover H2483 מחלי   H2088 זה׃  

  9 H1980 וילך went H2371 חזאל So Hazael H7125 לקראתו   H3947 ויקח him, and took H4503 מנחה a present H3027 בידו with H3605 וכל him, even of every H2898 טוב good thing H1834 דמשׂק of Damascus, H4853 משׂא burden, H705 ארבעים forty H1581 גמל camels' H935 ויבא and came H5975 ויעמד and stood H6440 לפניו before H559 ויאמר him, and said, H1121 בנך Thy son H1130 בן הדד Ben-hadad H4428 מלך king H758 ארם of Syria H7971 שׁלחני hath sent H413 אליך me to H559 לאמר thee, saying, H2421 האחיה Shall I recover H2483 מחלי   H2088 זה׃  

  12 H6680 ויצו commanded H4428 המלך And the king H853 את   H2518 חלקיה Hilkiah H3548 הכהן the priest, H853 ואת   H296 אחיקם and Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan, H853 ואת   H5907 עכבור and Achbor H1121 בן the son H4320 מיכיה of Michaiah, H853 ואת   H8227 שׁפן and Shaphan H5608 הספר the scribe, H853 ואת   H6222 עשׂיה and Asahiah H5650 עבד a servant H4428 המלך of the king's, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

  14 H1980 וילך went H2518 חלקיהו So Hilkiah H3548 הכהן the priest, H296 ואחיקם and Ahikam, H5907 ועכבור and Achbor, H8227 ושׁפן and Shaphan, H6222 ועשׂיה and Asahiah, H413 אל unto H2468 חלדה Huldah H5031 הנביאה the prophetess, H802 אשׁת the wife H7967 שׁלם of Shallum H1121 בן the son H8616 תקוה of Tikvah, H1121 בן the son H2745 חרחס of Harhas, H8104 שׁמר keeper H899 הבגדים of the wardrobe; H1931 והיא (now she H3427 ישׁבת dwelt H3389 בירושׁלם in Jerusalem H4932 במשׁנה in the college;) H1696 וידברו and they communed H413 אליה׃ with

  22 H5971 והעם And the people H7604 הנשׁאר that remained H776 בארץ in the land H3063 יהודה of Judah, H834 אשׁר whom H7604 השׁאיר had left, H5019 נבוכדנאצר Nebuchadnezzar H4428 מלך king H894 בבל of Babylon H6485 ויפקד ruler. H5921 עליהם even over H853 את   H1436 גדליהו them he made Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam, H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן׃ of Shaphan,

  23 H8085 וישׁמעו heard H3605 כל And when all H8269 שׂרי the captains H2428 החילים of the armies, H1992 המה they H376 והאנשׁים and their men, H3588 כי that H6485 הפקיד governor, H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon H853 את   H1436 גדליהו had made Gedaliah H935 ויבאו there came H413 אל to H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah H4709 המצפה to Mizpah, H3458 וישׁמעאל even Ishmael H1121 בן the son H5418 נתניה of Nethaniah, H3110 ויוחנן and Johanan H1121 בן the son H7143 קרח of Careah, H8304 ושׂריה and Seraiah H1121 בן the son H8576 תנחמת of Tanhumeth H5200 הנטפתי the Netophathite, H2970 ויאזניהו and Jaazaniah H1121 בן the son H4602 המעכתי of a Maachathite, H1992 המה they H376 ואנשׁיהם׃ and their men.

  24 H7650 וישׁבע swore H1436 להם גדליהו And Gedaliah H376 ולאנשׁיהם to them, and to their men, H559 ויאמר and said H408 להם אל not H3372 תיראו unto them, Fear H5650 מעבדי to be the servants H3778 הכשׂדים of the Chaldees: H3427 שׁבו dwell H776 בארץ in the land, H5647 ועבדו and serve H853 את   H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon; H3190 ויטב׃ and it shall be well

  20 H6680 ויצו commanded H4428 המלך And the king H853 את   H2518 חלקיהו Hilkiah, H853 ואת   H296 אחיקם and Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan, H853 ואת   H5658 עבדון and Abdon H1121 בן the son H4318 מיכה of Micah, H853 ואת   H8227 שׁפן and Shaphan H5608 הסופר the scribe, H853 ואת   H6222 עשׂיה and Asaiah H5650 עבד a servant H4428 המלך of the king's, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

  6 H1931 הוא This H5830 עזרא Ezra H5927 עלה went up H894 מבבל   H1931 והוא and he H5608 ספר scribe H4106 מהיר a ready H8451 בתורת in the law H4872 משׁה of Moses, H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתן had given: H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5414 ויתן granted H4428 לו המלך and the king H3027 כיד according to the hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהיו his God H5921 עליו upon H3605 כל him all H1246 בקשׁתו׃ his request,

  27 H1288 ברוך Blessed H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבותינו of our fathers, H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתן hath put H2063 כזאת as this H3820 בלב heart, H4428 המלך in the king's H6286 לפאר to beautify H853 את   H1004 בית the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD H834 אשׁר which H3389 בירושׁלם׃ in Jerusalem:

  11 H577 אנא I beseech H136 אדני O Lord, H1961 תהי be H4994 נא thee, let now H241 אזנך thine ear H7183 קשׁבת attentive H413 אל to H8605 תפלת the prayer H5650 עבדך of thy servant, H413 ואל and to H8605 תפלת the prayer H5650 עבדיך of thy servants, H2655 החפצים who desire H3372 ליראה to fear H853 את   H8034 שׁמך thy name: H6743 והצליחה and prosper, H4994 נא I pray H5650 לעבדך thee, thy servant H3117 היום this day, H5414 ותנהו and grant H7356 לרחמים him mercy H6440 לפני in the sight H376 האישׁ man. H2088 הזה of this H589 ואני For I H1961 הייתי was H4945 משׁקה cupbearer. H4428 למלך׃ the king's

  4 H559 ויאמר said H4428 לי המלך Then the king H5921 על unto me, For H4100 מה what H2088 זה what H859 אתה dost thou H1245 מבקשׁ make request? H6419 ואתפלל So I prayed H413 אל to H430 אלהי the God H8064 השׁמים׃ of heaven.

  5 H559 ואמר And I said H4428 למלך unto the king, H518 אם If H5921 על it please H4428 המלך the king, H2895 טוב it please H518 ואם and if H3190 ייטב have found favor H5650 עבדך thy servant H6440 לפניך in thy sight, H834 אשׁר that H7971 תשׁלחני thou wouldest send H413 אל me unto H3063 יהודה Judah, H413 אל unto H5892 עיר the city H6913 קברות sepulchers, H1 אבתי of my fathers' H1129 ואבננה׃ that I may build

  6 H559 ויאמר said H4428 לי המלך And the king H7694 והשׁגל unto me, (the queen H3427 יושׁבת also sitting H681 אצלו by H5704 עד him,) For H4970 מתי how long H1961 יהיה be? H4109 מהלכך shall thy journey H4970 ומתי and when H7725 תשׁוב wilt thou return? H3190 וייטב   H6440 לפני   H4428 המלך the king H7971 וישׁלחני to send H5414 ואתנה me; and I set H2165 לו זמן׃ him a time.

  7 H559 ואומר Moreover I said H4428 למלך unto the king, H518 אם If H5921 על it please H4428 המלך the king, H2895 טוב it please H107 אגרות let letters H5414 יתנו be given H5921 לי על me to H6346 פחוות the governors H5676 עבר beyond H5104 הנהר the river, H834 אשׁר that H5674 יעבירוני they may convey me over H5704 עד till H834 אשׁר till H935 אבוא I come H413 אל into H3063 יהודה׃ Judah;

  8 H107 ואגרת And a letter H413 אל unto H623 אסף Asaph H8104 שׁמר the keeper H6508 הפרדס forest, H834 אשׁר that H4428 למלך of the king's H834 אשׁר which H5414 יתן he may give H6086 לי עצים me timber H7136 לקרות to make beams H853 את   H8179 שׁערי for the gates H1002 הבירה of the palace H834 אשׁר that H1004 לבית to the house, H2346 ולחומת and for the wall H5892 העיר of the city, H1004 ולבית and for the house H834 אשׁר   H935 אבוא I shall enter H413 אליו into. H5414 ויתן granted H4428 לי המלך And the king H3027 כיד hand H430 אלהי of my God H2896 הטובה me, according to the good H5921 עלי׃ upon

  29 H3588 כי When H8213 השׁפילו are cast down, H559 ותאמר then thou shalt say, H1466 גוה lifting up; H7807 ושׁח the humble person. H5869 עינים the humble person. H3467 יושׁע׃ and he shall save

  7 H7521 ברצות please H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1870 דרכי ways H376 אישׁ When a man's H1571 גם he maketh even H341 אויביו his enemies H7999 ישׁלם to be at peace H854 אתו׃ with

  1 H6388 פלגי the rivers H4325 מים of water: H3820 לב heart H4428 מלך The king's H3027 ביד in the hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5921 על it whithersoever H3605 כל   H834 אשׁר   H2654 יחפץ he will. H5186 יטנו׃ he turneth

  11 H559 אמר said, H3068 יהוה The LORD H518 אם verily H3808 לא verily H8325 שׁרותך   H2896 לטוב it shall be well H518 אם   H3808 לוא   H6293 הפגעתי to entreat H6256 בך בעת thee in the time H7451 רעה of evil H6256 ובעת and in the time H6869 צרה of affliction. H853 את   H341 האיב׃ I will cause the enemy

  24 H389 אך Nevertheless H3027 יד the hand H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan H1961 היתה was H854 את with H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah, H1115 לבלתי that they should not H5414 תת give H853 אתו   H3027 ביד him into the hand H5971 העם of the people H4191 להמיתו׃ to put him to death.

  14 H7971 וישׁלחו Even they sent, H3947 ויקחו and took H853 את   H3414 ירמיהו Jeremiah H2691 מחצר out of the court H4307 המטרה of the prison, H5414 ויתנו and committed H853 אתו   H413 אל him unto H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan, H3318 להוצאהו that he should carry H413 אל   H1004 הבית him home: H3427 וישׁב so he dwelt H8432 בתוך among H5971 העם׃ the people.

  4 H6258 ועתה And now, H2009 הנה behold, H6605 פתחתיך I loose H3117 היום thee this day H4480 מן from H246 האזקים the chains H834 אשׁר which H5921 על upon H3027 ידך thine hand. H518 אם If H2896 טוב it seem good unto thee H5869 בעיניך it seem good unto thee H935 לבוא to come H854 אתי with H894 בבל me into Babylon, H935 בא come; H7760 ואשׂים   H853 את   H5869 עיני it seem ill unto thee H5921 עליך unto H518 ואם thee: but if H7489 רע it seem ill unto thee H5869 בעיניך it seemeth H935 לבוא to come H854 אתי with H894 בבל me into Babylon, H2308 חדל forbear: H7200 ראה behold, H3605 כל all H776 הארץ the land H6440 לפניך before H413 אל thee: whither H2896 טוב good H413 ואל   H3477 הישׁר and convenient H5869 בעיניך   H1980 ללכת for thee to go, H8033 שׁמה thither H1980 לך׃ go.

  2 H6965 ויקם Then arose H3458 ישׁמעאל Ishmael H1121 בן the son H5418 נתניה of Nethaniah, H6235 ועשׂרת and the ten H376 האנשׁים men H834 אשׁר that H1961 היו were H854 אתו with H5221 ויכו him, and smote H853 את   H1436 גדליהו Gedaliah H1121 בן the son H296 אחיקם of Ahikam H1121 בן the son H8227 שׁפן of Shaphan H2719 בחרב with the sword, H4191 וימת and slew H853 אתו   H834 אשׁר him, whom H6485 הפקיד had made governor H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon H776 בארץ׃ over the land.

  31 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H7970 בשׁלשׁים and thirtieth H7651 ושׁבע in the seven H8141 שׁנה year H1546 לגלות of the captivity H3078 יהויכן of Jehoiachin H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H8147 בשׁנים in the twelfth H6240 עשׂר in the twelfth H2320 חדשׁ month, H6242 בעשׂרים and twentieth H2568 וחמשׁה in the five H2320 לחדשׁ of the month, H5375 נשׂא lifted up H192 אויל מרדך Evil-merodach H4428 מלך king H894 בבל of Babylon H8141 בשׁנת in the year H4438 מלכתו of his reign H853 את   H7218 ראשׁ the head H3078 יהויכין of Jehoiachin H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H3318 ויצא   H853 אותו   H1004 מבית   H3628 הכליא׃  

  32 H1696 וידבר And spoke H853 אתו   H2896 טבות kindly H5414 ויתן him, and set H853 את   H3678 כסאו his throne H4605 ממעל above H3678 לכסא the throne H4428 מלכים of the kings H834 אשׁר that H854 אתו unto H894 בבבל׃ him in Babylon,

  33 H8138 ושׁנה And changed H853 את   H899 בגדי garments: H3608 כלאו his prison H398 ואכל eat H3899 לחם bread H6440 לפניו before H8548 תמיד and he did continually H3605 כל him all H3117 ימי the days H2416 חיו׃ of his life.

  34 H737 וארחתו And his diet, H737 ארחת diet H8548 תמיד there was a continual H5414 נתנה given H853 לו מאת   H4428 מלך the king H894 בבל of Babylon, H1697 דבר a portion H3117 יום every day H3117 ביומו every day H5704 עד until H3117 יום the day H4194 מותו of his death, H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H2416 חייו׃ of his life.

  38 H1810 ודלען And Dilean, H4708 והמצפה and Mizpeh, H3371 ויקתאל׃ and Joktheel,

  1 H3318 ויצאו went out, H3605 כל Then all H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H6950 ותקהל was gathered together H5712 העדה and the congregation H376 כאישׁ man, H259 אחד as one H1835 למדן   H5704 ועד even to H884 באר שׁבע Beer-sheba, H776 וארץ with the land H1568 הגלעד of Gilead, H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה the LORD H4709 המצפה׃ in Mizpeh.

  1 H376 ואישׁ Now the men H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H7650 נשׁבע had sworn H4709 במצפה in Mizpeh, H559 לאמר saying, H376 אישׁ any H4480 ממנו of H3808 לא There shall not H5414 יתן us give H1323 בתו his daughter H1144 לבנימן unto Benjamin H802 לאשׁה׃ to wife.

  5 H559 ויאמר said, H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H6908 קבצו Gather H853 את   H3605 כל all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H4709 המצפתה to Mizpeh, H6419 ואתפלל and I will pray H1157 בעדכם for H413 אל you unto H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.

  6 H6908 ויקבצו And they gathered together H4709 המצפתה to Mizpeh, H7579 וישׁאבו and drew H4325 מים water, H8210 וישׁפכו and poured out H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H6684 ויצומו and fasted H3117 ביום day, H1931 ההוא on that H559 ויאמרו and said H8033 שׁם there, H2398 חטאנו We have sinned H3068 ליהוה against the LORD. H8199 וישׁפט judged H8050 שׁמואל And Samuel H853 את   H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H4709 במצפה׃ in Mizpeh.
